Hi there! It's Kathi here! This week my teammates and I are sharing Christmas projects. I've got two cards for you today.
I've used PaperArtsy's whimsically fabulous Zinski Art 17 Rubber Cling Mounted Set with Darkroom Door's Snowflakes Background Rubber Cling Stamp and the versatile Classic Sentiments Clear Stamps by Heffy Doodle.
Here's my first card, which uses two elves and the sentiment from Zinski Art 17 Rubber Cling Mounted Set with Darkroom Door's Snowflakes Background Rubber Cling Stamp.
The boy elf was stamped first onto white cardstock and onto repositionable label paper to use as a mask. The repositionable label paper was fussy-cut and placed atop the elf on the cardstock. The girl elf was positioned on the image panel, then stamped onto cardstock and onto repositionable label paper, which was also fussy-cut and placed atop her counterpart. The bottom of the image panel was covered with a piece of torn paper and the rest of the panel was sponged with blue, lavender, and grey ink.
The Snowflakes Background Rubber Cling Stamp was inked with white hybrid ink and stamped over the masked elves and the inked background.
The masks were lifted and the images were colored with Copic markers. The ground was also colored with Copic markers, then touched up with a clear glitter pen, which was also added to the center of each snowflake to add a touch of glitter.
The sentiment was stamped onto patterned paper, then die-cut. Patterned paper from the same pad was layered to create a card front. The image panel and sentiment were adhered to finish the card.
Here's the second card using the large and small birds from the Zinski Art 17 Rubber Cling Mounted Set. I will mention that the set also includes a super-cute penguin and a stack of gifts with elves hiding in it!
The little Santa bird was stamped onto white cardstock, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a black pen. The big bird, who reminded me of Big Bird, was colored with yellow markers. His scarf and boots were colored with red and green markers and his cheeks were colored a rosy pink.
The sentiment, from the incredibly useful Classic Sentiments Clear Stamps by Heffy Doodle, was stamped onto cardstock and die-cut.
Patterned paper was cut with a scalloped frame die, which was used to frame the image. Once it was secure in its frame, the green bird was adhered as shown. Both the green and yellow birds' eyes received some Glossy Accents to make them dimensional. A dot of glue was used to add white Fun Flock to the pom-pom on the Santa hat. Patterned paper was layered to create the card front, the framed image panel was secured, and the sentiment adhered to finish the card.
