Catish Tales Card

Greetings! It's Tuesday which means that it's Kathi here to share a project with you. This week my teammates and I are showcasing the wonderful Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints by PaperArtsy. If you like acrylic paints and haven't tried these yet, you absolutely must. There are over 180 colors of paint, encompassing 22 color families. These paints produce a lovely chalk finish and are wonderful to create backgrounds that you can stamp or stencil on or to paint images.

Here's my slimline card.

Since I love cats and books, I had to use the bookish cat from  Elena Zinski Art #47 Rubber Cling Mounted Stamp Set by PaperArtsy. I'll admit that I cheated by not attempting to paint him. Instead, I stamped him with Memento ink, fussy-cut him, colored him with Copic markers, then edged him with a dark marker. Several layers of clear Glaze gel pen were added to his glasses to add dimension and shine. He was set aside while I created the background.

Taro Milk TeaBougainvilleaClaretPeriwinkleCloudy, and Blueberry  Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paints were applied to 140 lb. Mixed Media cardstock using cut and dry foam. When it was sufficiently dry, the largest die from the Decorative Squared Rectangles Die Set from the Sue Wilson Slimline Collection for Creative Expressions was used to cut it.

Here's a photo.

Black Archival ink was used to stamp the Book Spines Frame Stamp Red Rubber Cling Stamp by Darkroom Door onto watercolor paper. The books were painted with  CloudyBlewStone, and London Bus Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paints, then fussy-cut.

Onyx Black VersaFine Ink by Tsukineko was used to stamp the word "Purrfect" from the Felines Clear Stamp Set by Janet Klein for AALL and Create and the mouse and fishbones from the Cats Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Hobby Art Ltd..  Chalk pencils were used to add some shading to the books. India ink markers were used to color the mouse and the bones were colored with white gel pen. The books were fussy-cut, edged with a dark marker.

Black cardstock was cut with a die and used to mat the image panel. Three layers of washi tape were added to the base of the matted image panel, then the books and cat were adhered as shown. The card front was adhered to blue card.
