Wishing You a Season of Surprise and Delight?

It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week my teammates and I are focusing on Winter or Christmas. I've created a daft wintry scene with the skiing bird from the All Mad Here Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set and the flying hippo from the Jungle Animals Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set — both by Katzelkraft.

Here it is:

Using a stamping platform, the skiing bird from the All Mad Here Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set and the flying hippo from the Jungle Animals Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set were stamped with Copic-friendly ink twice — onto white cardstock and repositionable sticker paper. The sticker paper versions were fussy-cut and placed over their counterparts on the image panel as masks.

A piece of repositionable sticker paper was cut and placed under the images to create a ski slope and protect the bottom part of the image panel.

Blue and grey Copic-friendly ink were sponged onto the image panel to create a cloudy sky.

When I was moderately happy with the coverage and blending, all masks were lifted and the bird, his skis, the flying hippo, and the snowy slope were colored with Copic markers.

Snowflakes from the Snowflakes Clear Polymer Stamp Set (Lavinia Stamps) and the bursts from the Snowflakes Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Lavinia Stamps were stamped with shimmery silver ink. There were some gaps, so the smaller snowflakes from the Winter Snowflakes Clear Stamp Set by Hobby Art Ltd. were also stamped with the same shimmery ink.

Sentiment stamps from my stash were inked with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and stamped onto white cardstock. Cutting dies were used to die-cut the sentiments, which were then edged with the silvery shimmer ink and adhered to the image panel.

Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust Clear Glittering Ink Pen was used to add glitter and sparkle to the snow.

The image panel was trimmed to 5.75" square, edged with the silver shimmer ink, then adhered to a blue 6" square card.
