Topflight Stamps: Warm Winter Wishes

Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week my teammates and I are focussing on Winter/Christmas. Since Topflight Stamps is a sponsor for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, I decided to combine both challenges.

Here's a card created with two of the mugs from the L'Instant Thé/Tea Time by L'Encre et L'Image, Christmas Snowflakes Stencil by Stamperia, Della Blue Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps, PS108 Stencil by Scrapcosy for PaperArts, and a sentiment from the Stay Cozy Clear Stamp Set 814 by AALL and Create.

The first step was to use Copic-friendly ink to stamp two of the coffee cups from the L'Instant Thé/Tea Time by L'Encre et L'Image onto white cardstock. Both cups were fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a black pen.

A piece of 8.5" x 11" white cardstock was trimmed to 4.75" x 6.75" to create the background panel. A square cutting die was used to cut a window in the top part of the image panel. Premier Blending Tool by Hunkydory Crafts was used to sponge green ink onto the image panel. The same green ink was sponged over the PS106 Stencil by Scrapcosy for PaperArtsy to add visual interest to the background.

Wood-grain washi tape was adhered to the 4.75" x 1.75" piece of white cardstock. A scalloped oval die was used to cut white vellum. Patterned paper from a 6x6 patterned paper pad by Craft Consortium, was cut with a plain oval die and layered atop the scalloped oval. The scalloped oval die-cut was scored, folded, adhered to the washi-tape piece of white cardstock, and adhered to the background panel.

Another piece of white cardstock was sponged with Della Blue Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps, then misted with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to add a touch of splotchiness. White ink was sponged over the Christmas Snowflakes Stencil by Stamperia to create a snowy sky background. The panel was heat set then adhered behind the square opening on the background panel.

White satiny vellum was cut with a stage curtain die set and with a scalloped border. Red satin specialty paper was die-cut with a die from the same set to create tie-backs. The curtains, scalloped border, and red tie-backs were adhered to the background panel to frame the window.

Clear vellum was backed with wide double-sided tape. Black solvent ink was used to stamp the sentiment from the Stay Cozy Clear Stamp Set 814 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create onto the vellum. A cloud die was used to cut the sentiment. Steam swirls were also die-cut from the vellum.

The two colored mugs were adhered as shown. The steam swirls were adhered above the mugs, and the sentiment cloud was added.

The background panel was adhered to a 5" x 7" white card.
