Mixed Media Fun with Tracy Evans Boutique Designs

Hello, Lisa Hoel here. This week's theme is a fun one – Mixed Media! (Totally my jam.) I pulled out inks, texture paste, embossing powder and more and went to town.

First I applied some black texture paste through the Olives & Ivy stencil and sprinkled on some WOW! Sea Salt embossing powder onto it while it was wet. I set it aside to dry and then heat embossed it. The second layer is a piece of heavy cardstock covered with an inky, splotchy background and then stamped using the Bubbles stamp to add texture. The top layer is a tag I stamped with the Artsy Alpha Numbers stamp, then heat embossed. Afterwards, I spritzed it with various sprays to get the colors to puddle around the embossed image. The card is topped off with a ephemera sentiment from the Funny Bone Funnies pack.

Mixed Media Magic with Gel Press and Fresco Paints

I hope you’re having a great week! Ericka here from Strangely Creative, and today I’m sharing a fun and artsy mixed media card, plus a creative way to stretch the use of your rubber stamps—by pairing them with your gel press!

🎨 Gel Press + Rubber Stamps = Magic

If you've followed me for a while, you know I love experimenting with my gel press. There’s something so satisfying about layering color, texture, and pattern to see what magic appears! For this card, I decided to use rubber stamps directly on my gel plate—a playful twist that brings gorgeous dimension to your prints.

 

🖌️ The Process

I started by brayering a layer of PaperArtsy Fresco Paint in Cerise across my gel plate. While the paint was still wet, I stamped some of the beautiful silhouette and texture images from the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber “Umbells” set right into the paint. (Quick tip: words will come out mirrored, so I recommend sticking to images or abstract textures.)

Once the paint layer was dry, I added a second layer—this time with Summer Sky Fresco Paint—and pulled my print. I’m obsessed with how the contrast turned out! The vibrant Cerise peeks through the dreamy Summer Sky like a sunset peering through mist.

 

🌸 Adding the Details

To build my focal point, I stamped the whimsical flower from the PaperArtsy Kate Crane 011 set onto a separate sheet using Versafine Clair ink in Twilight, then clear embossed it for that extra pop. Using a water brush, I tinted it lightly with Cerise and Baltic Blue Fresco Paints, keeping it loose and dreamy.

After fussy-cutting the flowers, I added them to my gel-printed background with a bit of dimension. For the finishing touch, I stamped a sentiment from the Kate Crane set and hand-sketched a border around the edge to tie it all together.

 

✨ Final Thoughts

This card is a reminder of how versatile your stamps and gel plate can be—don’t be afraid to play and layer. You never know what kind of magic will show up!

Victorian Garden Work

Happy Thursday!  Colleen here with you to share another garden-related card for Topflight Stamps "Anything Goes" week.  I chose a gorgeous vintage inspired stamp set from Creative Expressions called Chateau Garden.  Oh my.  So many pretty stamps in one set, including some sentiments.  On a pale gray card base, I used a couple of paper snippets from Creative Expressions Nature's Compendium paper pad.  On one squarish piece that has text on it, I stamped the elaborate draping frame and then stamped the word "rose" in the center of it, using my favorite dark black ink from Versafine - Onyx Black.  I also stamped the butterfly / flower cluster from the same set, and trimmed out just the butterfly.  After a few light touches of marker, I added it to the frame and popped it up with double sided foam tape.  The "No. 15" ephemera on the bottom left came from the Nature's Compendium paper pad too.  I'm so glad you stopped by to take a peek today!  Hope you have a beautiful day! ~ Colleen

 Hello, I'm back with another Topflight Stamps project for you! This week's theme is "Anything Goes" so I took the opportunity to play with some Woodware stamps (a new brand in the store). I especially love their funky bird designs so I picked Lola to use for my card.

I stamped on kraft cardstock and then heat embossed the stamping with black embossing powder. Then I colored it in with colored pencils. I really like how colored pencils pop on the kraft surface. It makes for a bright and cheerful card!

Experience Bliss

 It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. The theme this week is "Anything Goes". There's been some ick at my house, so I made a card that shows my happy place using the Pelican Galleon Clear Stamp Set 1186,  Quirky Post Die Set DI87, and the Motivation Station Ephemera Die Cuts 55 all by AALL and Create.

Here it is:

 

Place white cardstock onto the base of a stamping platform and secure with low-tack tape and/or magnets. Place the large postage die from the Quirky Post Die Set DI87 by AALL and Create atop the paper. Position the galleon stamp from the Pelican Galleon Clear Stamp Set 1186 by AALL and Create facedown on the bottom left of the die/cardstock. Place the pelican island stamp from the same set facedown towards the top and the right side of the die. Press the platform's lid onto the back of the stamps and lift. Remove the die.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to ink both stamps, then stamp onto the image panel. Use a B41 Copic marker to outline the stamped images. 

Ink both stamps again and stamp onto repositionable sticker paper. Fussy-cut the sticker paper versions and place them over their counterparts on the image panel.

Use low-tack tape to secure the large postage die from the Quirky Post Die Set DI87 onto the image panel and cut. Remove the die.

Place low-tack tape along the perforated lines on all four sides of the image panel die-cut. The tape will cover the postage edges. Place another piece of low-tack tape horizontally across the image panel die-cut below the island. 

Sponge or brush Della Blue Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the tape onto masked image panel to create a light blue sky background. 

Remove the horizontal tape and the masks from the image panel, but keep the tape covering the postage edges in place. Use Copic markers to color the galleon, the island, the pelicans, and the ocean. Use a white gel pen to add whitecaps to the ocean and the tops of the waves. 

Remove the low-tack tape from the image panel die-cut. Cut a piece of black cardstock slightly larger than the image panel die-cut and use it to mat the image panel. Adhere the matted image panel die-cut to a blue A6 card.

Select the sentiment from the Motivation Station Ephemera Die Cuts 55 by AALL and Create and edge with a black Pigma marker. Adhere the sentiment die-cuts to finish the card.

Pure Poppy

Hello, happy Monday!  It's Colleen here with you to share a card for our Topflight Stamps "Anything Goes" week.  I chose a beautiful poppy stamp from Crafty Individuals called Pretty Poppy.  I stamped it on a scrap piece of white cardstock and colored the frame and flower with alcohol markers.  Though it's hard to see in the photo, I added some glossy glue to the center of the flower to make it raised and shiny.  And, since I breathe more deeply when I look at flowers, I thought it would be appropriate to use a "breathe" sentiment from PaperArtsy Scrapcosy 41 stamp set.  There are many words in that set, and you can come up with so many combos/phrases.  I stamped the word and used a small 'ticket' punch I had to create the perfect accompaniment to a beautiful poppy.  The wide lace is vintage, from my dear aunt.  Thanks so much for taking a peek, and hope your day is beautiful!

Spring Sparkle

 

Hello crafty friends!

It’s Ericka from Strangely Creative here, and today I’m bringing a little sparkle and springtime joy to your screen! I’m sharing a fun project where I dove into my gel press stash to create a cheerful, shimmery spring card — perfect for getting your creative energy flowing this weekend.

 

The Beauty of Leftover Prints
Raise your hand if you’ve ever gotten way too carried away with a gel press session 🙋‍♀️.
I have a whole drawer (okay, maybe two) full of prints, and I love finding ways to give them new life.
For today’s card, I grabbed a purple-toned print I made while playing with the DIY & Cie Spring Break Texture Plate — the colors felt just right for a fresh spring vibe.

 

Layering Up the Texture
I paired my background with the gorgeous PaperArtsy JOFY PS081 stencil and Byzantium Fresco Paint. Pro tip: If you misplace your paint sponge (like I did), your fingers work just fine for applying paint through a stencil — and it makes the project feel even more hands-on and artsy!

 

Adding That Magical Sparkle
Once the background was dry, it was time for some shine. ✨
I stamped the PaperArtsy Seth Apter 44 script stamp across the background using WOW! Embossing powder for a rich, golden shimmer. I loved the effect so much that I grabbed my WOW! Embossing Pen and added some extra sparkle onto the leaves. Heat embossing little touches of sparkle made the whole card glow like a spring morning!

For the sentiment, I used the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber 41 Pressed Umbels set.
I stamped it in Versafine Clair Twilight ink and heat embossed it to keep the theme of shimmer going strong — the Twilight ink helped the sentiment stand out beautifully against the colorful background.

To bring everything together, I added a hand-drawn frame for a personal, whimsical finish.
