Snarky Holiday Cards

Hello, friends!  Toni here with two snarky holiday cards using the fabulous Katzelkraft Jungle Animals set.

These grumpy critters kill me! I love the holidays but once I reach my cheer limit, I’m so done. LOL! Both cards are watercolored but with completely different results.  The second also used the string of lights from the  Katzelkraft Christmas Holiday Accessories set which you may recall is an exclusive Topflight Stamps-Katzelkraft collaboration.

Paperartsy | Ink Blended Floral Christmas

Hi Everyone and welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog. It's Jenny here - I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate it, and got full on lots of great food and conversation!

Don't forget there is a Cyber Monday sale going on over at the shop today!

Today I have a simple card that uses one of my favourite techniques with stencils - ink blending.  I've been loving the glitter pastes recently, but wanted to go back to an oldie but goody.

The card uses this gorgeous stencil by Tracy Scott for Paperartsy (PS110) which I thought could almost pass for a snowflake!

I ink blended four different colors of purple ink over the stencil onto white card, starting darker in the centre and gradually fading out to the edges.  I then trimmed it down and adhered it a white card base.

My sentiment was from the Frozen Forest by Studio Light, heat embossed in silver embossing powder onto vellum.  I trimmed out the vellum and wrapped it around the panel and secured with liquid adhesive.  I then added some shimmery confetti as a finishing touch, keeping it simple.

Hope you like it!  Have a wonderful week!

Bold Santa

Hi Topflighters!  Toni with you this fine Wednesday with a bold and fun holiday card.

The Carabelle Studio Pere Noel stamp is a large one, nearing fill the front of an A2 (4.25x5.5").  Isn't it fantastic?! He's easy to color too and I can totally see his head on an Action Wobble or part of his outfit paper-pieced. What am I doing writing this?  I should be trying out these ideas!  LOL.

For the background of my card I used Distress Oxides in ombre fashion and used a bold plaid cover plate over it.  My originally plan with the "Ho" was just to add 3 of them but I kept going in keeping with the rest of the bold card. So fun!

Do check out my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, for a full list of ingredients and to check out my other designs.

Pine Cones and Christmas Tags

Good morning, Lisa Hoel here with a project to share with you! This past fall I bleached a ton of pinecones to sell at a craft bazaar I just participated in. I needed some festive tags to put on the bags and the Darkroom Door Pine Cones set was perfect to use!

Studio Light Frozen Forest - Easy Embossing with Patterned Paper

Hi Everyone and Welcome to the Topflight Stamps Blog!  It's Jenny here, and I have a card  project today uses patterned paper by Studio Light as the base.  The paper I'm using is the Frozen Forest paper pad.

This beautiful faux watercolor image of trees in a snowy forest inspired my card.   I didn't want to cover it up so I used heat embossing to accentuate the image with a Fractal Snowflakes background stamp by Ultimate Crafts.

I stamped the background image in Versamark embossing ink directly over a trimmed down piece of the patterned paper (4.25" x 5.5") and heat embossed in white.  In a couple of places I missed some of the embossing, however I thin the distressed look of the snowflakes goes perfectly with the background.

For some definition, I inked around the edges with Distress Ink in Weathered Wood, blending inwards slightly.

My sentiment is from the Studio Light Frozen Forest Holiday Sentiments which is a beautiful set with so many great fonts.

It was stamped onto vellum with Versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I die cut out the sentiment with a stitched rectangle die, and to adhere, backed it with wide double sided tape so there was no adhesive showing (see the close up),  and adhered it directly to the card.  This is a great way for adhering sentiments stamped on vellum directly to your card when you have no where to hide the adhesive!

As a finishing touch, I popped some white and sparkling clear sequins and confetti onto the card with liquid adhesive.  I lovvvve how this turned out - I hope you do too - so super easy and yet a very effective result!  Have a great week everyone!

Adventure Begins

Happy Friday! I hope you all are doing well. It's Ericka here and today I have a couple of cards using some backgrounds I had previously made that were sitting in my stash.

I love these awesome sentiments from Katzelkraft and the script is so beautiful.

Here is a closer look at the cards that would almost work for any occasion.

I love the script of all these sentiments and this is such a great way to use backgrounds you might have just laying around from past projects.

If you want to learn more about how I created these cards, feel free to stop by my blog!
Have an awesome day and a make every moment matter! And for those of you who live in the United States, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Cheers, Ericka

We're All Jolly Here

Hello, friends! Toni here with you today sharing lots of fun and whimsy as I stretched my stamps to make unexpected holiday cards.  Both cards use the Visible Image Alice in Wonderland series.

With this card I stamped the Visible Image Alice in Wonderland The Cheshire Cat in Versafine Onyx Black then colored it with only 4 Zig Watercolor markers. Practice is making perfect! After drying, I masked the image then created an alcohol ink background using Ultimate Crafts Fractal Snowflakes. Cool, huh? The sentiment in typed on a typewriter and mounted on black cardstock.

My second card features Visible Image Alice in Wonderland Caterpillar chilling out. This one was also colored with Zigs. His smoke snowflakes are fun, aren't they? I used a lot of Copic Opaque White to bright up his rolls. I can so relate!  LOL.
