Katzelkraft Night Owl Coffee Lover Card with Gel Prints

 

Hi friends, it's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to kick start our week of Katzelkraft!  This fun French stamp company manufactures quality red rubber stamps at an affordable price, because you mount them yourself with EZ Mount cling foam.  I had so much fun playing with these stamps and hope they will inspire you to play.

I have been anxiously awaiting a true XXL die, with which to cut my gel prints and maximize the printed surface.  I like to make larger than normal cards.  Donna just stocked up on the Crealies brand of dies, with basic shapes nesting dies in an oversized variety.  I am thrilled!  Today I am using the XXL Double Stitched Stacked Rectangles.  The largest measures 4.75" x 6.25". 

I pulled out a bunch of coordinating gel prints I made a while back and cut lots of layers, including tiny frames, which I glued around the perimeter of my panels with Andy Skinner's Quick Grab Glue (it has an awesome matte finish).  I used the "snowflakes" from the Lady Christmas stamp set to add a paint splatter effect on my background.  I stamped the grumpy night owl from the Owls stamp set onto gel printed paper and fussy cut them.  I added a couple of die cut wreaths, which I layered to mimic a bird's nest. 

As a final touch I did a little pencil coloring to add depth around his eyes and added some white with a Posca paint pen.  Lastly, I added the coffee first sentiment from the Coffee & Tea To Go stamp set.  Just like me, he refuses to rise from his nest without his cuppa!  LOL!  I hope these cards make you smile.  Hugs, Autumn
