New Year, Fresh Layers: Memorydex Cards with AALL & Create

Happy New Year, crafters! Ericka from Strangely Creative here. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are easing into the first days of the New Year feeling inspired. Today I’m diving back into the craft room and playing with AALL & Create, creating a set of layered Memorydex cards. These little pieces are always such a fun way to experiment without pressure, perfect for trying new combinations and techniques.

 

I started with watercolor paper and sprayed it using Lindy’s Gang Sprays in Industrial Chic. Once everything was completely dry, I added loose scribbles using white and black paint to bring in movement and contrast right from the start.

From there, I built up more layers using an older AALL & Create stamp set along with AALL & Create Washi Tape in Something Good and Night Shade. I love mixing newer products with favorites from my stash. It keeps things fresh and makes every project feel more personal.

 

Next came a soft touch of Pixie Green ink shading around the edges, followed by thin lines of WOW! Embossing Powder in Palm for subtle texture and shine. Just enough detail to catch the light without overpowering the background.

To bring everything together, I added stars from the AALL & Create Anemone Whispers Ephemera, finishing them off with a bit of shading for depth. The final touch was a simple black hand-drawn frame. It grounds each card and gives them that finished, art-card feel.

 

Now all that’s left is waiting for my next shipment of AALL & Create goodies so I can finally grab a Memorydex box to store these little pieces of art. Until then, I’ll be right here in the craft room, making more and enjoying the creative process.
