Gel Print Masterboard Bookmarks with Tracy Scott Stamps

 

Happy Monday friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share some more masterboard inspiration.  Again, a masterboard is a large sheet of stamped and colored paper that you cut into smaller pieces to make multiple projects.  You can find my first masterboard experiment post HERE.  Both times I have started with a gel print, as I find it is the easiest (and most fun) way of getting paint onto paper.

I used a variety of PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylics to include: Twilight, Byzantium, Waterfall, Amethyst and Lilac.   I used Tracy Scott stencil PS189 and Sara Naumann stencil PS092 during printing.  I used a sheet of thin tissue paper to blot between the stencil and saved it for adding layers, like how I used a glue stick with a portion of it at the bottom of this card.

The top was cut from my stamped masterboard, along with two bookmarks, which I positioned and cut with the Sue Wilson Slimline Dies.  A die is the perfect viewfinder for a part of the masterboard you wish to make into a project.  Here's my finished masterboard panel, with stamping & inking.  I used PaperArtsy Tracy Scott stamp set TS025, my very favorite set of Tracy's!  

And here are my finished bookmarks.  Note how I added some messy script with a white paint pen.  I have really enjoyed seeing a bright bit of artwork grace my book pages this month!  I hope this post has inspired you to have a go at making a masterboard.  They are fun to do and I know you will enjoy the process.  Hugs, Autumn

Tracy Scott Flower Stencil

 

Happy Sunday! Ericka from Strangely Creative here with a quick and fun stencil card using the new PaperArtsy Tracy Scott release. I saw this awesome stencil PS254, and knew I had to get it.

 

There are so many ways to use this great stencil, but I decided to use it with my gel press. I took the PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Lemon Meringue, Peachy Nectar, and London Bus and used a brayer to apply a layer to the gel press. I laid down the stencil and then my cardstock and pulled the print. Normally, I would have done a little doodling or Zentangle inside the shapes, but I loved the colors and patterns so much I didn't want to distract from them. Instead, I took a black pen and traced around the shapes adding a little shading to one edge of each shape.

I used the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Summer sentiment and added WOW! Embossing powder around the edges with the WOW! Embossing pen.

Let's Play With All The Stamps!

This Bumble Bee set has such detail & can be used to add delight to any page. 

 For a wee bit of sparkle some Glitter Emboss was added using one of this trio- Fiesta.

It is hard to see by the photo but the glimmer & shimmer on this light bulb as well as the detail of the image are fabulous! 

This set Shine Bright has so many wonderful images & the quotes!!! The light bulb was used on one of my pages as well as that wonderful number set, so great for back grounds!

This set Be Different has that great abstract feel to it with lots of great imagery. Love the words! I hope you enjoy playing with all your stamps & if you don't journal, that you take up the practice. It is great for stress relief, documenting & all around fun play! Craft Emotions - May All Your Fishes Come True

Cornelia here today! 

this week it's anything goes. And since it's getting summery I thought I make a cooling, ocean themed card......

I made a water color background. Stamped the funny puffer fish and balloon on a piece of scrap paper, colored it with water brush pens and fuzzy cut it. I heat embossed the sentiment. Took a letter "F" die and cut  out the "F" to replace the "W" in the sentiment. Assembled everything.

Indigo Blu ~ Drips & Textures

Hi, Connie here to share Indigo Blu stamps for Topflight Stamps.
I created a mixed media style card using the Drips & Texture
stamp set.  This set is so up my alley :):)

I started by creating a background for the stamps to land on.
The Brick Wall stencil by Darkroom Door was a great starting 
point. (I'm Working with distress Oxide ink on heavy mixed
media manila paper). The stamps were selected and stamped in random
spots on the card front.  The butterfly is stamped an extra time, 
cut out and placed over the stamped butterfly, in the focal image.

A postage stamps was added for interest and color.  The sentiment was
stamped and adhered to the card front.  I used dimension adhesive on
several areas of the card.  The last step is speckling black acrylic
paint on the card front. Tip: I always use an old toothbrush to add 
speckles to cards or scrapbook pages.  You have the control you need to
place the drips and dots perfectly, well most of the time :):)

Greetings! It's Tuesday so it's Kathi here to share a project with you.

Here's my card created with Crafty Individuals' Of The Sea Unmounted Rubber Stamp #559 and Marlene's World Stencil/Mask BM16 by Studio Light.

I haven't played around with watercolors in ages, so I decided to get out my watercolor pencils and use them with Brusho Crystal Colors and Elements Dye Ink Pads by Lavinia Stamps.

I first chose the colors I wanted to use to color the image. I added water to four little containers, then shook a small amount of Turquoise, Cobalt Blue, Crimson, Sea Green Brusho Crystal Colors into each container. 

The image was stamped with black Archival ink onto watercolor paper.  Diluted Cobalt Blue Brusho Crystal Colors was used to color the sky around the boat. I pressed the lid of the Sahara Elements Dye Ink Pad into the pad, picked up the ink on the lid with a wet paintbrush, and painted the "sand" under the boat. 

Watercolor pencils were used to color the boat, sea, tidal pools, and the background. The pencils were blended using the little pots of diluted Brusho Crystal Colors. The colors of the tidal pools were deepened with Mermaid Elements Dye Ink.

I scored around the image, then tore along the score lines. The edges were further distressed with the edge of a pair of scissors. The image panel was matted onto red cardstock and set aside.

Sahara Elements Dye Ink Pad was brushed over the Marlene's World Stencil/Mask BM16 by Studio Light onto light yellow cardstock, trimmed to 4.75" x 6.75", and edged with the same ink.

The image panel was adhered to the stenciled background paper, then compass and anchor charms were attached to the card front using black thread.

The cardfront was adhered to a 5" x 7" blue card.
