Hobby Arts Llama

 

How you doing crafty friends? Ericka from Strangely Creative and I hope you had a wonderful week. Today I'm playing with a gel press background and the Hobby Art Crazy Critters set. I love the cute critters in this set and all of their fun expressions.

 

I stamped the image with black waterproof ink and used my Zig markers to color up the llama and cut him out. I had this gel press background in my stash and created it using the PaperArtsy JOFY PS230 stencil and PaperArtsy Fresco paint in Summer Sky and Byzantine. 

Once I attached my llama with foam tape, I used a white gel pen to trace around the stencil shapes and sentiment. To finish my card, I used some fun googly eye on the llama.

Crafty Individuals - Winter is Coming!

        Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today! 

This week it's anything goes, so I decided to use this beautiful stamp from Crafty Individuals and turn it into a Christmas card. 

I sponged the background with distress oxide inks, using blender brushes. Stamped the stamp and did some light coloring of the bird and wood post, staying mainly monochromatic. I cut out the stamped image with a square die and mounted it onto white card stock. Stamped the sentiment. Trimmed the cardstock and mounted it onto a dark blue card base.

Can't Wait to See You in Person Again card with Darkroom Door

Hi, Connie here with a fun card created with Darkroom
Door stamps for Topflight Stamps.  The inspiration for
this card came form the sentiment "can't wait to see you
in person again".  My mind went to the bottles with fish
locked in and surrounded by protective glass~
how we can all relate!!  So this card is what came out of
those creative thoughts.

The background was created with Distress Oxide inks, kinda of a hit
and miss on the ink.  I wasn't concerned about the white
cardstock showing in the background, in fact I love the distressed look it
gave the ocean/water. 

The fish are stamped inside the bottle on a separate stamped 
bottle image and then trimmed out and added to the card 
front.  Bubble stamps and a circle stencil were added to
enhance the water (trying to make it look alive, but
confined).  I know ~way too deep :):)

The inside of the card has a signing place stamped

with matching images used on the card front. The card
is speckled with black acrylic paint and the water bubbles are
highlighted with a white gel pen. Dimensional adhesive
is used to secure the stamped images and add dimension to
the card.

Journey Card

 Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. I'm back to celebrating summer with a card created with the ship, compass, and anchor stamps from the Eclectica ES11 Cling Mounted Stamp Set by Scrapcosy for PaperArtsy and two sentiments from the Destination Unknown Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Visible Image. The background was created with the Acetate Circle Masks by Lavinia Stamps and Distress Oxide inks.

I've wanted to use  Acetate Circle Masks by Lavinia Stamps and Distress Oxide inks to create a sunset scene. I tried several times, but kept positioning things badly. I was delighted when I finally got a decent result! You can find out how I created the card by popping over to my blog, Kat's Tales of Stamping, where you'll find instructions and step-out photos. 

I will say that you definitely need the Acetate Circle Masks by Lavinia Stamps if you want to make sunset or full moon scenic cards.

Layers & Layers of Fun

 Hello Topflight Fans, Karen Bearse here with one of my favorite pieces in ages! Today it is all about the layers. Is it a tag? Is it a card? It is whatever you need it to be. As always there is a tutorial on my blog. 

 I know I say the word "fun" too much but once again this was so much dang fun to make.  Shouldn't your crafting be fun? So many nummy layers & it all started with just a few products. Vellum & embossing powder. 

Topflight Stamps has so many great embossing powders to choose from. I may have gotten carried away & played with quite a few. 

 Every powder needs a few good stamps & this set "On The Line" designed by Kate Crane for Carabelle Studios is chock full of them!! 

 For my focal image this cute "Pretty One" girl was used. 

There are so many great images on these postage stamps sets. The bee was used as my tab & images from that stamp were used on the photo slide. This one is called The Great Outdoors. 

 One way to get more from your stamps is to look at the smaller images on them & use those to get extra details. Small Animal Postcard has some great script & postage images as well as the very cool animal postage possibilities.

Lavinia Stenciled Sea Turtle with Brusho Powders

 

Hi friends, it's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a fun summertime card featuring this gorgeous Crafty Individuals Sea Turtle stamp.  I had a play with the lovely new Lavinia Elements Dye Ink Pads, brayering Blue Lagoon onto my Gel Press printing plate.  This is a fun technique Lavinia shares on their YouTube and Instagram pages.  Once I brayered the ink, I then splashed on heavily diluted Brusho pigment powders onto the gel plate using a fan brush.  This creates all of those lovely splashy pools on your paper, all tinted with your base color.  I took the ink that was left on my brayer and did a second panel.  You can see how much lighter it is in the background, but perfectly coordinated.  I used the Crealies XXL Square Stitched Nesting dies to cut the center of the lighter panel and saved it for another project.  I then cut the top panel with the next larger die so it would overlap and not show my cutaway.  This is a great trick to maximize those precious inky papers!

I wanted to create a little more depth so I stenciled more Mermaid Elements ink through the Lavinia Flora stencil.  I finished the design by embossing a portion of the Make Art Sentiment Strip stamp by Darkroom Door in white and adding a few details with a white paint pen.  I love this technique and hope you will too!  Hugs, Autumn
