Don't Let Things Bug You

Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today. Perhaps you are familiar with Craft Emotions, a Dutch stamp company. The have the cutest stamps (and they are inexpensive!)

I used a gel press to make my background. I stamped those cute animals on a piece of scrap paper and fuzzy cut them. Used Stickles on the wings. The papers I die cut with stitched dies from Simon Says Stamps.

I hope you liked this. See you next week!

Season's Greetings Earthling

Hi, everyone!  Toni here.  A couple of week's ago I shared a card using the same Visible Image Alien Invader set I'm using today.

BUT, I Christmased it up! It occurred to me that some of the Katzelkraft Funny Accessories might work well with him. The hat was perfect as is; I had to trim down the scarf (or I could have used it around his shoulders).

I used the Katzelkraft Christmas Holiday Accessories tree and the presents from Funny Accessories. Notice how the alien's laser is burning the presents? Oh, no!

I added snow using Prism Ink Blue Lagoon with the Visible Image Two Tone Stencil as well as with the snowflakes from Visible Image Snowman Jack.

I used the swirl from that set for smoke too, using Prism Ink Slate Gray.

I had stamped everything with Versafine Onyx Black so I could watercolor it using Prism Ink, Prism Markers Heavenly Sunset and Prism Markers Forest Walk. The hat and scarf are colored with Copics.

As a final step I stamped the Visible Image Alien Invader sentiment and added a partial sentiment from Paper Rose Christmas Sentiments. Season's Greetings, Earthling!

Floral Steampunk Birthday Card

Greetings! It's Kathi here with a monochromatic floral steampunk birthday card featuring the large and lovely Flowers and Gears Clear Stamp set by AALL and Create.  I've also used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the wonderfully useful Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp set by Heffy Doodle.

The large flower and leaf was stamped onto Copic friendly cardstock and onto masking paper. The masking paper version was fussy-cut and placed over it's counterpart on the image panel. The smaller flower was then stamped on either side of the large flower onthe image panel and twice onto the masking paper. The two smaller flowers were masked, then two of the gear sets were stamped as shown.

All masks were lifted, missed lines were repaired, and the images were colored with Copic markers. True confession time. Somehow I got a huge black mark on the bottom right corner which I couldn't fix, so I used a corner rounder punch and rounded both bottom corners. I'm happy with the result, so I guess I could call that a "Happy Accident". I sponged around the edges with Distress ink to complete the image panel.

I found cardstock that matched the colors I used to color the flowers, stamped the background using a Stamperia stamp which had been inked with three colors of ink, trimmed the background panel, edged with the same colors of ink, and mounted on a 7" x 5" card.

The sentiment from the versatile and useful Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp set was stamped onto a leftover strip of cardstock, then adhered to the card front to finish the card.

Seth Apter has New Stamps!!

Hello Topflight Stamps fans, Karen Bearse here today for Mixed Media Monday with some new stamps by Seth Apter. I do have a simple tutorial for you on my blog which you can find here.

I decided to create another mini art journal page using just a few products that show you don't have to spend a ton of time to have an art play date & create a finished piece!

I am loving Seth's newest stamp sets by PaperArtsy which are available for preorder. I used ESA13 on my art journal page. Love the combo of background, focal image & title all in one set!

My background was painted using Cerise & Mermaid Fresco Finish Paints.

Can't stop playing with Seth's new embossing powder by Wow. The colors are mixed and fabulous. For example the Crusty Copper on my background has flecks of black in it. The Sea of Tranquility is a wonderful cobalt blue with tiny flecks of teal, white & gold in it. Just very dynamic powders. They are not super chunky so they still pick up some of the finer details of a stamp. Check out the Topflight Stamp store to see Seth's other new stamps sets they are fun!!

Zentangle PaperArtsy Mandala

Happy Friday! How is your week going? Ericka here and things are getting  a little crazy with the kids, homeschooling, housework and all the other things that come with being in the house too long. I was able to escape some of the craziness and make this mandala card using PaperArtsy ETS 23 set.

I love this set as it goes with just about any type of background and you can play around with adding white gel pen and black for a little Zentangle look. You can just play with the image and add all kinds of fun designs.

I also added the sentiment from the PaperArtsy JOFY 73 set.

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you have a little time to relax and create!

Great Day with PaperArtsy

Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today!

We at Topflight Stamps are showcasing PaperArtsy this week. Of course I had to go with the  Elena Zinski stamps. Those rabbits are new and while Easter is over, they still can be used for other purposes ;) They are just so cute and quirky!

I made a smooshed background with distress oxide inks. I stacked up the rabbits and colored them with markers. For the white areas I went over with bleach, that gets totally rid of all the colors. Saves you the masking....I added some stenciled shapes for more interest, staying within my color scheme. Stamped the sentiment. Trimmed the card stock and added Washi tape on the side.

Hope you liked this, see you next week!

Bastet

Hello, my furry and not-so-furry friends! Today I'm sharing my love of cats, which is obviously no surprise to them.

This is my favorite picture of one of my cats--so imperious!  My other cat is an orange on orange long-haired tabby that is only photo-ready while in a coma. LOL.  But I digress. . . .

I stamped the PaperArtsy Zinski Art 47 (Cats) image onto watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black and colored it with Zig watercolor markers. I set that aside to dry while I worked on the pyramids.

I lightly drew in the pyramids then colored them up with Prism Markers Heavenly Sunset 040 and 056.  I dried the image and added multiple layers of color to create the aged appearance I was looking for.

I used Prism Ink April Sorbet and Cinnamon Swirl to add "brick" accents with the Pronty A4 Grunge Objects Stencil. Look at all those designs!  I can't wait to use them all!

I used Prism Ink Blue Lagoon with the Visible Image Fibres stencil for the sky.

This is as close as I've ever gotten to seeing Egypt.  I once flew over the area on my way back home from Kenya but it was hazy so I didn't see any landscape all.  Boo!

Every Dream...

Hi all! It's Kathi here since it's Tuesday! This week my TFS teammates and I are showcasing fabulous Paper Artsy products

I've recently discovered Zinski's range of stamps for Paper Artsy and have fallen in love with her odd and whimsical creatures, flowers, and houses.

Today's card features Zinski Zini-Mini #45 and Zini-Mini #47. Both stamps are lovely deep-etched rubber stamps, mounted on cling.

Here's the card, which shows these edgy dudes, separated by 6', sharing a dream. They're dreaming of a cocktail or ice cream sundae (whichever makes them happy), which is one of the stamps in Les Drôles D'Accessoires (Funny Accessories) Unmounted Rubber Stamp set by Katzelkraft

The Zini-Mini #45Zini-Mini #47 dudes, and the cocktail were stamped with Memento ink onto white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I drew a circle around the cocktail and added little circles to connect the circle to the guys.

I was elated to find the perfect sentiment, "Every Dream...",  in my Lavinia collection. I used a dark marker to ground the dudes, stamped the sentiment with VersaMark, and heat-set with white detail embossing powder.

If you'd like more information about this card, please pop over to my blog, Kat's Tales of Stamping.
