Greetings! It's Tuesday so you have Kathi here to share a project with you today. But before I get to this week's theme and my project, I wanted to remind you about Topflight Stamps' wonderful Cyber Monday Sale that runs until 11:59 p.m. tonight, December 3rd! There are loads of fabulous new and old products in the store so you should pop over there and treat yourself!
This week the team is focusing on Crafty Individuals' wonderful stamps. As you might know, I love penguins almost as much as cats and meeting one face to face is a bucket list item for me. Anyway, once I saw the Pablo the Penguin Unmounted Rubber Stamp, I knew that one day he'd be mine. Eventhough he's a holiday stamp, it would be so easy get rid of his antlers and ice skates, which would add to his versatility.
Here's the card!
Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko was used to stamp Pablo the Penguin Unmounted Rubber Stamp by Crafty Individuals twice — once onto a white panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. I used Copic markers to color Pablo, fussy-cut the sticker paper version, and placed it atop the colored image. I also placed a piece of repositionable tape over the base of the image under Pablo's skates.
Della Blue Elements Inks by Lavinia Stamps was sponged over the tape and the masked image to create a blue sky. When done, the tape was moved to cover the horizon line and shield the sky. Grey Copic-friendly ink was brushed over the tape onto the bottom of the image panel.
The image panel was placed onto a stamping platform. The Snowflake Background Cling Red Rubber Stamp by Darkroom Door was placed over the image panel, inked with white shimmery inks, stamped, then heat set.
Use the silver metallic marker from the Bright Vivid Metallic Colorista Marker Set by Spectrum Noir to color Pablo's skates.
A white paint pen and the Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust Clear Glitter Ink Pens by Sakura of America were used to add white dots and clear glitter to the snow and the ice.
Two pieces of the same 6x6 plaid paper by Craft Consortium were taped together, then cut with an A6 Frame die. The taped frame die-cut was adhered atop the image panel to frame it. The framed die-cut was adhered to a white A6 card. One of the dies from the Galactic Edges Die Set 68 by AALL and Create was used to cut red-Copic colored cardstock, which was placed over the taped seams of the frame to cover them and add another touch of red to the card..
White cardstock was cut with one of the speech bubble dies from the Bubble Talk Die Set 72 by AALL and Create. Blue Belle VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko was used to stamp the sentiment from the Winter is Magic Clear Stamp Set 1191 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create. The sentiment speech bubble was adhered as shown to finish the card.
