Falling for Lindy’s: Mixed Media Card with Maple Leaves & Vintage Layers

Ericka from Strangely Creative here and I’m so excited to share today’s mixed media fall card, bursting with texture, color, and just a touch of cozy nostalgia. This one was a joy to create because I got to play with some of my favorite supplies—Lindy’s Gang Sprays and a gorgeous stencil from Creative Expressions..

✨ Here’s how I built the card:

1. Background magic: I started with watercolor paper and sprayed Lindy’s Rusty Lantern Lime, Shabby Turbine Teal, and Time Travel Teal through the Mini Maple Leaves stencil. These shades layered beautifully for that earthy yet vibrant fall feel.

2. Reverse image bonus: I couldn’t let all that gorgeous ink go to waste! I pressed a second piece of watercolor paper onto the inky stencil and loved the reverse print it gave me. Those crisp white leaves peeking through? Perfection.

3. Vintage layer: Once my background was dry, I carefully tore the edges for texture and adhered it to a vintage book page. (And would you believe it—the page had a pumpkin pie recipe on it? Couldn’t have been more perfect for a fall card!)

4. Finishing touch: I kept the sentiment simple with a quick strip from my label maker. Sometimes less is more, especially when the background steals the show.

💡 Creative Tip: Don’t throw away excess spray on your stencil—press another sheet of paper on top and you’ll get a second unique print. It’s like getting two backgrounds for the price of one!

Happy September friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I am playing along with the DT team and creating a fall scene. It's a bit hard to get into the fall theme when its still 104 degrees Fahrenheit here in TX but I am trying lol. I created a background using alcohol inks and then took out my Lavinia Stamps to create a fun scene.

 

I stamped the Lavina set Mae in Versafine Clair Nocturn ink and highlighted portions with a white gel pen. I also stamped the Lavinia Mystic Swirl, Lilium, and Floral Wreath stamps around my journal page. I had portions of my page that were a little sticky from the alcohol ink, so I added some left over foil and some shiny accents.

PaperArtsy Scrapcosy Mushrooms and Squirrel Tags

 

Hi friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share an autumn tag trio made with Scrapcosy stamps by PaperArtsy.  Raquel is my absolute favorite designer and I was really in the mood to have a play with her fall themed stamps, so I grabbed a few sets and had a nice, relaxing play, resulting in these three tags.  I used stamp sets ESC25, ESC26 and ESC32.  

For my backgrounds I dipped each tag (handcut from Bristol) in Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  For the stamping, I misted my stamps before making the impression.  I used Gathered Twigs, Aged Mahogany, Rusty Hinge and Peeled Paint.  

I used Archival ink in Acorn for my focal images and watercolored them with the same inks.  

I used a woodgrain embossing folder to the die cut ovals to make the focal images more prominent.  I hope they inspired you today and you'll check out Raquel's fabulous range of stamps at Topflight Stamps!  xx, Autumn

Mixed Media Mini Fall Journal Page

 

Happy Friday creative friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I'm playing in a mini journal creating a fall themed layout using a variety of Topflight Stamp supplies including PaperArtsy Fresco Paints and Infusions and a variety of Visible Image supplies.

 I started by applying gesso to my page and used PaperArtsy Fresco paints in Banana, Firebird, and Taupe and applied it to my journal with a brayer. I took PaperArtsy Infusions in Golden Sands and Sunset Beach and sprinkled it on my page and used my sprayer to spread the color around.

 

Once my pages were dry, I used the Visible Image Round in Circles set and randomly stamped the images using Lavinia Elements ink in Merlot, Paprika, and Henna. I then stamped the mushrooms from the Visible Image Totally Toadstools sets and cut them out with my Brother Scan and cut.

 

After gluing down my mushrooms, I added some textures to my background using the Visible Image Heavy Rain stencil. On my other page, I used the Visible Image Erika's Maple and added leaves and another sentiment with Versafine Clair ink.

I finished my page using a white Posca pen for highlights.

Mixed Media Tags using only Stencils

Hi, Connie here with three mixed media tags using only stencils.
I did add word stickers for the sentiments, but the rest is stencils!
Topflight Stamps has many, many, many stencils! You can find them in
the Topflight Store.  You will want them all.

Distress Oxide Ink is added to the tag with a foam applicator.  Then the
 stencils were layered on the color.  The carved leaves were stenciled on
cardstock, with fall colors of ink, and then trimmed out.

   

The carved leaves were added to the tag front in clusters.  Dimensional
adhesive was used to adhere the leaves.

The word strips stickers were added to the mixed media tags.
My idea for these tags is to add them to a fresh loaf of 
homemade bread.  That is the plan~ AND SHARE THEM WITH
 OTHERS!!

The last step is adding a little "messy" to the edges of the tags.
To create a distressed look just add acrylic paint or ink to the edges of 
the tags using your finger.  Speckle with black ink to complete the front
 of the tags. Add jute or twine for the tie on.

You Choose, Fall or Halloween with Darkroom Door

Hi, Connie here with a "you choose" post.  You get to decide. Is this
a Fall or Halloween card?  Either way it was fun to create and
to put such a fun spin on it, made it better.

I used stamps by Darkroom Door and added the pointing hand stamp  
by Carabelle Studio. The background is created using Panpastels.  They
give you such a creamy look, so smooth!  Love them for
Sunsets and Sunrises. 

The Abstract 09 stamp, by Darkroom Door, really mixes up the
 card and then mix it up more by adding a word sticker that

makes you scratch your head.  Who said black birds are spooky!!
