Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween greetings Topflight Stamp Fans! It's Kathi here today with my last post as October's Guest Designer. I've had a wonderful time and would like to thank Donna and the team for selecting me as guest designer and making me feel welcome!

Kathi Rerek for Topflight Stamps – mixed media Halloween spookiness!!

The angel from Visible Image's Guardian Angel and the skull border from IndigoBlu's Skullduggery Border set were stamped, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a black marker.

The base of the reliquary arch chipboard was painted with PeacoatBaltic Blue, and Snowflake Fresco Chalk Paints by PaperArtsy.  Lavinia's Bat Colony and Tree Branch were stamped onto the painted base using Onyx Black VersaFine ink. The stamped painted background was heat set again, then the skulls and Guardian Angel were adhered using liquid glue.

The top of the reliquary arch was painted with Stone mixed with Snowflake Fresco Chalk paints and heat embossed with clear powder. The two parts of the arch were glued together and set aside

Grey and White Brusho Crystal Color were mixed into Sand Paste, and spread over a flat canvas. When dry, the arch was traced onto the canvas with a chalk pencil.

Grey and White Brusho Crystal Colors were mixed into Grunge Paste and spread over a brick stencil onto the canvas avoiding the traced area.

While the canvas was drying, London Bus Fresco Chalk Paint was brushed over metal tokens, then wiped back. The 31 token was backed with black cardstock. Black twine was threaded through the tokens' holes.

A Quote Chip was coated with a layers of matte medium, crackle glaze, and Distress ink.

When the Grunge Paste bricks on the canvas were dry, Mini Art Stones were added to the mortar areas of the canvas.  Grey Brusho Crystal Color  was used to both tint the stones and to add depth of color to the mortar.

The arch, tokens and quote chip were adhered to the canvas. The canvas was edged with permanent black ink to finish the piece.
