Watercolor Magic: Creating a Floral Card with Gold Accents

Hello, crafty friends! It’s Ericka from Strangely Creative, and I’m excited to share a special project with you today. I’ve been playing with the Creative Expression Jane's Doodles Tulips & Crocus stamp set to create a beautiful watercolor card for a friend. This set is absolutely stunning, and I love that it includes delicate butterflies and busy bees, adding a touch of nature’s charm to any project.

To start, I stamped the images and sentiment using Nocturn VersaFine Clair ink and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. This technique gives the lines a crisp, raised finish, perfect for watercoloring. Next, I reached for my Spectrum Noir Botanical Watercolor Markers, which make blending colors a breeze. The vibrant hues really bring these flowers to life, and the smooth blending allows for that soft, natural look.

Once the background was completely dry, I wanted to frame the image in a way that would make it pop even more. I used the Spectrum Noir Gold pen to hand-draw a simple frame around the card. This touch of gold not only adds elegance but also subtly directs the eye towards the focal point. For a little extra shimmer, I added some gold splatters across the card, creating a whimsical effect. Finally, I highlighted the flowers with a white gel pen, adding dimension and a touch of light to the blooms.

This card was so much fun to create, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a fantastic Labor Day weekend! Don’t forget to check out the sale going on right now—happy crafting!

The "lace" under the focal image is stamped onto a colored coffee filter and fussy cut out. Of course I had to add some real vintage buttons to embellish it.

Thanks a Latte

It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week my teammates and I are showcasing Creative Expressions' wonderful products. My card features the adorable bears from the Warm Hugs Clear Stamp Set, one of Jane's Doodles fabulous stamp sets for Creative Expressions, with patterned papers from two of my most-used favorite pads, A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions and the Coffee and Chocolate 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Stamperia.

PSA: If you haven't checked out Jane's Doodles fabulous stamp sets for Creative Expressions, you should. The critters are way too cute. I also would be remiss if I didn't tell you to click over to Topflight Stamps to see all the amazing new products!

Here's the card.

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko was used to stamp both the bears from the Warm Hugs Clear Stamp Set by Jane's Doodles for Creative Expressions. They were fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, edged with a black pen, and set aside.

The map paper from the Coffee and Chocolate 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Stamperia was trimmed to 5.875" x 3.875". Low-tack tape, brown ink, and Pine Cone VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko were used to create a  box around the "Coffee Map" on the lower left hand corner and to create a .125" strip along the bottom of the panel. Pine Cone VersaFine Clair Ink was used to edge the entire map paper, which was then matted onto a piece of dark brown cardstock.

Adhere the bears as shown.

One of the labels from the inside front cover of the Coffee and Chocolate 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad was brushed with the same brown ink used on the patterned paper.  Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink was used to stamp the sentiment from the Warm Hugs Clear Stamp Set onto the label, which was trimmed then edged with Pine ConeVersaFine Clair Ink.

The brown, red, goldish plaid patterned paper from the A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions was trimmed to 6.875" x 4.875", edged with Pine Cone VersaFine Clair Ink and adhered to a 7" x 5" card. The image panel was adhered as shown. The sentiment strip was adhered to finish the card.

Please pop over to my blog, Kat's Tales of Stamping, for complete supply lists and more information.

Note: Every now and then you find patterned paper pads that are so fabulous and versatile that you end up using and hoarding every scrap. Both the Coffee and Chocolate 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad  and the A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad are perfect examples. The Ink Drop 6x6 Patterned Paper Pads are incredibly versatile as well.

Thank you for visiting today!

Candy Cane Christmas with Creative Expressions

Hi friends. Alanna on the blog with you today with a fun Christmas card. Our focus this week is on the Creative Expressions brand.

I started creating this card by stamping the Candy Cane Background image with alcohol friendly black ink. I then added in some quick coloring with one red marker.

I trimmed my panel down and then stamped two of the sentiments from the Holly Jolly set from Studio Light with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink.

I added this panel down to a a piece of black card stock. I then added this to a white A2 notecard. I then decided I wanted just a little bit of something extra. So, I took some silver glitter card stock and trimmed down two thin strips to add on either side of the black card stock.

Find the products I used in the Topflight Stamps store below.

Creating a Colorful Birthday Card with Crealies Rainbow Die

Hello friends!

Ericka from Strangely Creative here and I’m excited to share a quick and cheerful birthday card I made using the adorable Crealies Rainbow Die. This die is a true gem—it cuts both a frame and large inserts, making it incredibly versatile for various projects. For this card, I decided to give some of my leftover gel press prints new life by transforming them into a vibrant and unique rainbow.

I love how the die perfectly showcases the beautiful textures and colors from the gel press prints, creating a one-of-a-kind rainbow that’s full of personality. Once I had my rainbow laid out, I reached for the Visible Image Happy Birthday stamp to complete the card with a crisp and clean sentiment. The simplicity of this design really lets the rainbow shine, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out!

T

One of the best things about the Crealies Rainbow Die is its small size, which makes it perfect for using up those scraps and leftovers that we all have tucked away. There are so many fun ways to play with this die, and I can’t wait to experiment with more ideas in the future.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope this card inspires you to dive into your stash and create something beautiful with those leftover prints and papers. If you haven’t tried the Crealies dies yet, I highly recommend checking them out—they’re a delightful addition to any crafter’s toolkit.

Happy crafting, and until next time!

Hello Topflight Stamps fans! Lisa Hoel here. This week our brand focus is on Crealies Dies. Adding die cuts to a stamping project is always a nice touch.

Lisa Hoel for Topflight Stamps #creativejuicefreshsqueezed #topflightstamps

For this card, I used a set of heart dies to cut an aperture in the card front. The exact set I used is out of stock but the Crealies Double Stitch Nesting Hearts 113 Die Set would work just as well.

The stamps set is That Lovin' Feline from Visible Image. The front of the card is stenciled using the #56 Barbary Stars stencil from AALL & Create.

Birthday Card with CREAlies

It's Tuesday, so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week the Topflight Stamps team is showcasing products by by Crealies. I've made a bright and cheerful card using the  Happy Birthday with Shadow Wordzz Die Set by CREAlies.

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Panda from the Koala and Panda Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Craft Emotions twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color the Panda. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Panda and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.

Place a ruler or a piece of plastic horizontally over the top part of the image panel with the bottom of the ruler slightly above the level of the panda's paws. Brush or sponge Russet Orange, and Sundance Elements. Inks by Lavinia Stamps over the ruler and the masked images.

Move the ruler so that it's covering the bottom of the image. Sponge or brush Mulberry and Violet Chalk Elements. Inks by Lavinia Stamps over the masked panda onto the top part of the image panel. Use a Fine Spray Misters by Spectrum Noir filled with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and mist th top portion of the image panel. Trim the image panel, edge with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko, and mat with black cardstock cut .25" larger than the panel.

Use the plain die from the Happy Birthday with Shadow Wordzz Die Set by CREAlies to cut black cardstock.

Trim a piece of patterned paper from the Ink Drops - Candy 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad by Craft Consortium to 4" x 5.25". Edge the patterned paper with edge with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink . Adhere the card to a 4.25" by 5.5" card.

Adhere the Happy Birthday sentiment die-cuts to the top of the card. Adhere the image panel as shown. Use the Quickie Glue Pinpoing Roller Pen by Sakura to adhere five sparkly sequins to finish the card..
