Hello crafty friends!
Ericka here from Strangely Creative, and today I’m back in my happy place, playing with ink, color, and my gel press to create a flutter of bright butterfly cards!
I started by rolling Lavinia inks in Merlot and Russet Orange across my gel plate using a brayer, then added a few fun splatters of Lindy’s Gang sprays for that signature shimmer and unpredictable texture. Once I pulled up my print, I fell in love with the beautiful blend of rich colors and subtle shimmery highlights.
Each print turned out completely unique—no two alike! I kept experimenting with different ink combinations and spray layers, and you can see some of my favorite prints here.
For my finished cards, I chose a couple of my favorite gel prints for the backgrounds, then used another print to stamp the PaperArtsy Kate Crane 014 Butterfly set. I added touches of coordinating ink for detail, a bit of clear embossing powder for sparkle, and finished each card with a hand-drawn frame to tie it all together.
I love how these cards capture the energy and spontaneity of gel printing—perfectly imperfect, colorful, and full of life!
