Direct to Paper with the Spectrum Noir Shimmer Pearl Inks

Hi friends. Alanna here sharing with you a quick and easy card featuring my favorite shimmer pearl inks from Spectrum Noir along with the beautiful Flower Smudge set from AALL & Create.

To get started, I did a direct to paper technique to apply three different colors of the Shimmer Pearl inks. I used Peach Rose, Raspberry. and Sugar Plum. I wish you could see the shimmer in the photo. Once my panel was dry, I took one of the floral images from the Flower Smudge set and stamped it one time with my Versafine Nocturne Claire ink and then I rotated my panel and stamped it again so that it was coming down from the top.

Once this was dry, I trimmed it down and added it with foam tape to a black A2 notecard. I then took the Raspberry color and swiped it onto some white card stock. I then stamped the sentiment onto it which is from the Basic Wishes set from Studio Light. I added foam tape behind this and added it to the card, flush to the right side.

Halloween with Crafty Individuals

Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today. This week we are focusing on Crafty Individuals stamps on the Topflight blog.  I am already in Halloween mood.....
I first stamped the raven, then the crow on top of it, but only inked up the cross. I used a stamp positioner to get it right. Lastly I stamped the moon. Did a bit of masking the crow, to not get some yellow into it, when I brushed the moon. I brushed the background (also masked the head of the raven). I colored the crow and raven with Prismacolor pencils.  Added white accents and white splatters.

I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.
See you next week with more Topflight Stamps inspiration.

Using a stamping platform, I stamped the Witches' Hat with Copic-friendly black ink twice; once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. The sticker paper version was fussy-cut and placed over its counterpart as a mask. Noof was positioned on the platform so that the witch hat would be covering his head, but not his ears. He was also stamped twice, once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper, which was fussy-cut and placed over Noof on the image panel.

The flattest of the masks from the Acetate Hills Mask-Stencil set was positioned horizontally across the image panel to ground Noof. Della Blue and Dark Denim Elements Inks were brushed over the masked images and the Hills mask.

All masks were removed and Copic markers were used to color Noof, the the Witches' Hat, and the grass.

The image panel was trimmed and edged with  Dark Denim Elements Ink. A piece of white cardstock was cut to .25" larger than the image panel. Violet Chalk Elements Ink was brushed over the the edges of the cardstock, leaving the center white. I used this piece to mat the image panel.

Violet Chalk Elements Ink was brushed over a scrap of white cardstock to color it. "Meowy" was stamped with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink . The scrap was placed onto the stamping platform and "Happy Halloween" from the Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp Set was positioned underneath. The word "Happy" was covered with a scrap of paper, "Halloween" was inked with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink, the scrap was removed, and the sentiment was stamped. The sentiment scrap was heat set, then cut with a speech bubble cutting die.

The matted image panel was adhered to a black 5" x 7" card. The sentiment speech bubble was adhered to finish the card.

Please pop over to my blog, Kat's Tales of Stamping, for more detailed instructions and complete supply lists.

Halloween Scene “Let your Witch out.”

Hi everyone  MEL PILLING here to bring you some early Halloween inspiration. The star of the show is my sassy, witch by the fabulous, Creative Expressions from the set Smooth Moves.

I kept the background dark, so my witch and pumpkins would show up well.  This simple background was done using torn paper hill masks, and a moon mask.  I used Elements Ink in Graphite , Dark Denim , Violet Chalk and Midnight Blue  applied with a Blending Brush .  I stamped the walking woman onto clean card stock, then drew in a skirt and boots and coloured her with watercolour markers. The hat was done the same way then cut out and  glued onto her head. The bats and pumpkin were from a Tim Holtz set that I’ve had for years. I also drew in some extra pumpkins, the lower pumpkins were masked and stamped to create layers. The broom was glued on after also.  This set featuring Jane Davenport drawings is so versatile.

Darkroom Door Colorful Belated Birthday

Hello crafty friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I have a belated birthday card using the Darkroom Door Overlapping Blocks background stamp. I had so much fun coloring up these overlapping blocks with the Spectrum Noir Watercolor Markers

I stamped the Darkroom Door Overlapping Blocks stamp and white heat embossed it and then colored it up. I had a little space that I apparently didn't emboss well but it ended up to be the perfect sport for the Darkroom Door Birthday Greetings

I added a little dark pencil shading the the sentiment to help it pop on my busy background. Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to play along with us using Darkroom Door!

Craft Emotions - Don't Let Things Bug You

   Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today. This week it's anything goes on the Topflight blog.  I used the old, but still cute set Bugs 2 from Craft Emotions for my card.

I first made my background using Brushos. I used a bit of water and dissolved the Brushos first to just use them as watercolor.  Let it dry. I stamped the dandelion and bugs with Versamark and colored them with water brush markers.  Added some white accents. I dabbed white ink around the dandelion with my finger. Added some Stickles to the dandelion and dragonfly wings. Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and added it.

I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.
See you next week with more Topflight Stamps inspiration.

Winter Wonderland

Hello Crafty Friends, Mary Key here today with "anything goes". I decided to create some Christmas cards using Katzelkraft KTZ280 - Winter Wonderland and sentiments from the stamp set along with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder and Lavinia Dinkles Blueberry using watercolor paper.

Here is a winter look card. I first had embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder for the trees and heat with my heat gun. After that, I decided to spritz some water and sprinkle some Lavinia Dinkles Blueberry on my mat.  I then smooshed my watercolor paper onto my mat, heat dry and more smooshing and heat dry again. Once dry, I wiped with a dry paper towel to my trees where it's embossed and added the sentiment. Finished my card using white cardstock.

This is another different way for the next card. I spritz water onto my watercolor paper and then added Lavinia Dinkles - Blueberry. I then spritz some more water onto my watercolor paper, heat dry. Once dry, I stamped Katzelkraft KTZ280 - Winter Wonderland trees with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder and heat. The trees look more white than my other card. I completed my card using the sentiments and added onto whtie cardstock. Here is the final look on my second card.

Thank you for coming by and keep creating!

A Halloween Scene

It's Tuesday which means that you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week is an "Anything Goes" week so I'm getting into the Halloween spirit with a slimline card created with fabulous new stamps by AALL and Create. I've used Janet Klein's Weird Science Clear Stamp Set 950 and the witch from her Bewitchingly Clear Set 950. The background features the fantastic Haunted House from the House of Faces Clear Stamp Set 1053 by Autour de Mwa.

Here it is!

The haunted house from the House of Faces Clear Stamp Set 1053 was positioned towards the top of the image panel, then stamped with Copic friendly ink twice -- once onto an image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. The sticker paper was fussy-cut and placed atop its counterpart as a mask.

A circle from the Circle Masks and Stencil Set was positioned over the top part of the house. A piece of torn cardstock was placed horizontally across the image panel. Blue Lagoon and Dark Denim Elements Inks was brushed over the Circle Mask and the top of the torn cardstock.

The torn cardstock was moved downwards and Evergreen Prism Ink was brushed over the top of the torn cardstock. The cardstock was moved downwards and Evergreen Prism Ink was brushed overtop again. This was repeated until the grassy portion of the image panel was mostly inked. Rainforest Green, a lighter green, was brushed over the darker green to add depth.

The images from the Weird Science Clear Stamp Set 950 and the witch from the Bewitchingly Clear Set 950 were stamped with Copic-friendly ink onto white cardstock, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, then edged with a black multiliner. White gel pen was used to add catchlights to the characters' eyes.

The mask over the house was lifted and the house was colored with Copic markers.

The black cat from the House of Faces Clear Stamp Set 1053 was stamped twice with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink

A green chalk pencil was used to add a shadow under the cats and at the base of the image panel.

The background panel was trimmed to 3.25" x 8.25" and edged with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink

The characters were adhered to the base of the background panel as shown. A Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust Clear Glittering Ink Pen was used to add bubbles around the moon and in and around the beaker.
