All Geared Up to Celebrate

 Greetings! It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here to share a project with you! This is an "Anything Goes" week, so I decided to try a new technique and to use some of my new stamps! 

Here's a Steampunk-themed card created with the Precision Paws Clear Stamp Set 1373. the Time Tinkerer Clear Stamp Set 1374, and the Steamheart Gears Stencil PC-270 — all by AALL and Create. 

Cut a piece of 9" x 12" Mixed Media paper in half. Place it onto a craft mat. Use a small spatula to place a pile of Yesteryear Yellow Magical Powder from the Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powder Set by Lindy's Stamp Gang onto the craft mat. Fold a baby wipe and press the top part of it into the pigment powder. Drag the baby wipe vertically on the Mixed Media paper, working from the outside edges towards the center. Dip the wipe into the powder and apply it again. Continue until the powder pile is gone. Clean your craft mat.

Place a small pile of Apothecary Azure Magical Powder from the Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powder Set onto the craft mat. Use a clean baby wipe to repeat the process described above. The pigment powders will blend and start to create layers as you work.When the powder is gone, clean your mat.

Place a small pile of Pocket Watch Pewter Magical Powder by Lindy's Stamp Gang onto the craft mat. Use a clean baby wipe to add additional color to your background. When done, clean your craft mat, then heat set the background panel.

Place the Steamheart Gears Stencil PC-270 by AALL and Create over the background panel. Brush or sponge Graphite Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the stencil onto the background panel to enhance the background panel.

When done, trim the background panel to 5 5/8" square and edge it with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko. Use stipple brushes to add speckles of yellow, orange, turquoise, and blue chalk ink. Heat set the panel and set it aside. 

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the cat and the dog from the Precision Paws Clear Stamp Set 1373 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create onto white Copic-friendly cardstock. Use the same ink to stamp the Time Tinkerer from the Time Tinkerer Clear Stamp Set 1374 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create onto white cardstock. Fussy-cut all three images, color with Copic markers, and edge with a black marker. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to the Time Tinkerer's eyes. Use a white pencil and add highlights to the cat's eyes (I wanted them to be fainter as his eyes are covered by glasses) and to the watchface. Set the characters aside.

Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the sentiments from the Precision Paws Clear Stamp Set 1373 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create onto the remaining piece of the Mixed Media paper. Add clear detail embossing powder to the wet ink, dump the excess powder back into its container, and heat set the powder. 

Use sentiment strip dies to cut the three sentiments, trim them horizontally, then edge them with the Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink.

Adhere the three sentiments to the reserved 5 5/8" square background panel. Adhere the dog, cat, and the Time Tinkerer atop the sentiments as shown to create the card front.

Cut a piece of copper metallic cardstock to 5.75" square and use it to mat the card front. Use a sentiment die (or alphabet dies) to cut copper metallic cardstock. Adhere the sentiment as shown. Adhere the card front to a 6" square black card.

Attitude is...

It's Tuesday! This week's team focus is on PaperArtsy's wonderful products! Here's my encouragement card created with their LPC066 Cling Rubber Stamp Set by Lynn Perrella, the Small Backgrounds Large Stencil PS133 by Scrapcosy, the Large Stencil PS317 by Scrapcosy, and the Tracy Scott Mini TSM23 Cling Rubber Stamp by Tracy Scott.

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp one of the images from the LPC066 Cling Rubber Stamp Set by Lynn Perrella for PaperArtsy twice — once onto Bristol Paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Heat set the Bristol Paper version to set the ink to avoid ink transfer to alcohol markers. 

Color the image on the Bristol Paper panel with Copic markers. Fussy-cut the image stamped onto repositionable sticker paper and place it atop its counterpart on the image panel as a mask. 

Brush light grey dye ink over the masked image panel to color the background. Place the circles portion on the Large Stencil PS317 by Scrapcosy for PaperArtsy towards the top of the image panel. This stencil has a repeating pattern which makes it easy to cover larger areas with the stenciled pattern. Brush the same light grey dye ink over the stencil's circles onto the image panel. 

Move the stencil to cover more of the image panel, taking care to line up the circles and diamonds. Continue to brush light grey dye ink over the stencils circles onto the image panel. 

Remove and clean the stencil.

Place the border from the Large Stencil PS317 by Scrapcosy for PaperArtsy so that the base of the border is even with the bottom part of the stamped and colored image. Brush light grey ink over the stencil onto the image panel. Brush light blue dye ink over the stencil to differentiate the border design from the stenciled circles. Keeping the stencil in place, brush sparkly gold pigment ink over the stencil onto the image panel.

Place low-tack tape or scrap paper horizontally onto the image panel, covering the top part. Brush grey ink, then blue ink over the the stencil to color the bottom part of the image panel.

Remove the stencil and heat set the panel. 

Spray the image panel with Gossamer Gold from the Moon Shadow Mists Spray Set by Lindy's Gang to add some shimmer. Heat set the image panel. 

Remove the masks. Use the fourth largest die from the Crea Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by Crealies to cut the image panel. Use the sparkly gold pigment ink to edge the image panel die-cut. Heat set the wet ink. 

Cut blue/purple cardstock 1/8" larger than the image panel die-cut and use it to mat it. Cut aqua cardstock 1/4" larger than the image panel and use it to mat the matted image panel. Set the double-matted image panel aside.

Sponge or brush the light grey dye ink used earlier onto a strip of Bristol Paper. Heat set the ink. 

Use Adriatic Sea VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to ink the Tracy Scott Mini TSM23 Cling Rubber Stamp quote stamp by Tracy Scott for PaperArtsy and stamp onto the grey-inked Bristol Paper strip. Heat set the ink. Cut the quote image apart, edge the phrase pieces with Bali Blue VersaFine Clair Ink and heat set them.

Adhere the double matted image panel to a textured blue 5" x 7" card. Adhere the sentiment quote strips to finish the card.

Sending Heartfelt Wishes

It's Tuesday which means that you've got Kathi here to share a project with you! It's an "Anything Goes" week so I decided to create  a summery birthday card with the Good Things Take Time Clear Stamp Set TE60 and the Flower Power Clear Stamp Set TE37 — both by Tracy Evans Boutique, the Leaf Green and Ultramarine Brusho Crystal Colors by Colourcraft, and the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by CREAlies.

Here it is!

I wanted the flower stems to be green so I decided to use the 'no lines' coloring technique. The lilies from the Good Things Take Time Clear Stamp Set TE60 by Tracy Evans Boutique were stamped with Copic-friendly yellow ink onto a panel of Bristol Paper. Heat set the ink. 

My neighbors have beautiful red/orange lilies, so I used red and orange Copic markers to color the lilies and green Copic markers to color the stems. My colors got a bit over-saturated, but I was mostly pleased with the result.

A small amount of Leaf Green and Ultramarine Brusho Crystal Colors by Colourcraft were sprinkled into wells of a color palette. Water was added to the Crystal Colors to dilute them. A wet paint brush was used to dampen the paper around the stems, then the Leaf Green Crystal Color was brushed onto the bottom section of the panel on a slant. 

A wet paint brush was used to dampen the paper around the flowers and stems on the top part of the image panel. Ultramarine Brusho Crystal Color was painted onto the image panel. 

The colors were looking a bit streaky, so a wad of cotton was wet with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, then pounced onto the background avoiding the Copic colored images. A cotton swab was dipped into the alcohol and pounced onto the areas closest to the images. The alcohol mottled the background and brought out some of the other colors in the crystals. Fun! 

Water-color brush pens were used to add detail to the lawn and to the flowers. I decided to pounce the alcohol-saturated cotton onto the image panel again which softened some of watercolors.

The image panel was throroughly heat set, then cut with the third largest die from the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by CREAlies. 

The "Sending Heartfelt Wishes..." sentiment stamp from the Flower Power Clear Stamp Set TE37 by Tracy Evans Boutique was positioned facedown on the top left of the image panel die-cut. Melon Soda VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko was used to ink the sentiment, which was then stamped and heat-set.

Black glitter pen was used to outline the stamens of the flowers and add a slight dimensional touch.

The image panel die-cut was matted with black metallic cardstock that was trimmed to be 1/8" larger than the die-cut.

The matted image panel was adhered to a white textured A6 card.

 It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here to share a project with you!! Our theme this week is Christmas in July! 

Here's my card created with the Kate Crane 007 Cling Mounted Stamp Set by Kate Crane for PaperArtsy, the Hills Acetate Stencil/Mask Set by Lavinia Stamps, and the A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp Santa from the Kate Crane 007 Cling Mounted Stamp Set by Kate Crane for PaperArtsy twice — once onto a piece of Mixed Media paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.

Place the reindeer stamp from the Kate Crane 007 Cling Mounted Stamp Set facedown on the right of Santa. Ink the stamp with  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamp it twice — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.

Clean and dry the reindeer stamp. Reposition it facedown on Santa's left. Ink the stamp with  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamp it twice — once onto the image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel.

Place the flattest of the masks from the Hills Acetate Stencil/Mask Set by Lavinia Stamps horizontally across the image panel and secure with low-tack tape and/or magnets.

Brush or sponge grey-blue dye ink over the Hills Acetate Mask and the masked images onto the image panel to create a background sky.

Use a C1 Copic marker to trace the top of the Hills Acetate Mask, Flip the mask over and move it downwards. Use the C1 marker to trace it again.  Repeat this step to create more lines of snow on the background. 

Remove the masks from the images and use Copic markers to color them. Use a N6 marker to increase the size of the reindeers' pupils then use a white gel pen to add highlights to them and to the reindeers' hooves. Use a black Glaze pen to color the buttons on Santa's outfit and make them shiny and dimensional.

Position the "ho, ho, ho!" sentiment stamp facedown on the image panel as shown. Ink the sentiment stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and stamp. Heat set the ink.

Add dots of Bold Stardust Clear Glittering Gelly Roll Gel Ink Pens by Sakura along the traced snow lines. Let the gel ink dry, trim the image panel, and mat with a slightly larger panel of red textured cardstock.

Cut a piece of patterned paper from the A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions to 4" x 5.25" to create the background panel. Edge it with a R35 Copic marker and adhere it to a red A2 card. 

Adhere the matted image panel to finish the card.

Do you want to swing on a star?

Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you! This week our focus is on the stars! Here's a birthday card inspired by a song created with the Swing Clear Polymer Stamp, the Pris Clear Polymer Stamp, the Musical Notes Small Clear Polymer Stamp Set, the Treble Clef from the Musical Notes Large Clear Polymer Stamp Set, a sentiment from the Heartfelt Verses Clear Polymer Stamp Set, the Dynamic Stencil, and four colors of Elements Premium Dye Inks — all by Lavinia Stamps. The focal images were stamped with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and shimmer was added with Scintillating Silver Glitz Spray from the Glitz Spritz Spray Set by Lindy's Stamp Gang.

Apply embossing ink over a star opening on a stencil onto a 5" x 7" panel of Mixed Media paper. Add detail white embossing powder to the wet ink, dump the excess back into its container, and heat emboss. Re-apply the embossing ink over the star opening again. Add sparkly clear embossing powder to the wet ink, dump the excess back into its container, and heat emboss.

Sponge or brush Dark Denim Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the embossed star applying the ink more heavily around the edges of the panel. Sponge or brush Blue Lagoon Elements Premium Dye Ink over the panel, blending as you go. Thoroughly heat set the panel. Use a wet cotton swab to remove the excess ink from the star.

Use a Post-It Note to cover the bottom parts of the star. Position the Swing Clear Polymer Stamp by Lavinia Stamps facedown with the top of the swing's ropes on the Post-It Note covering the base of the star. Ink the stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and stamp. Position Pris Clear Polymer Stamp by Lavinia Stamps facedown so that her posterior is sitting on the swing and her hands are on the ropes.  Ink the stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and stamp.

Working in small segments, use a water-laden tiny paintbrush to apply water to the swing seat and ropes. Use a tissue or paper towel to dab off the water and bleach the area. Smoosh the lid of the Henna Elements Premium Dye Inkpad onto the ink pad. Use the tiny paintbrush to apply the ink to the seat of the swing. Smoosh the lid of the  Sahara Elements Premium Dye Inkpad onto the ink pad. Use the tiny paintbrush to apply the ink to the swing's ropes. Use watercolor pens to correct the color if you'd like.

Use a white chalk pencil to add small highlights to Pris.

Position the Dynamic Stencil by Lavinia Stamps over the image panel. Sponge or brush Blue Lagoon Elements Premium Dye Ink over the stencil onto the image panel avoiding Pris and the Swing.

Use Dark Denim Elements Premium Dye Ink to randomly stamp the treble clef from the Musical Notes Large Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Lavinia Stamps around the image panel. Use the same ink to stamp a variety of notes from the Musical Notes Small Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Lavinia Stamps as well.

Spray Scintillating Silver Glitz Spray from the Glitz Spritz Spray Set by Lindy's Stamp Gang over the panel. Dab off the big blobs and heat set. 

I realized that the shimmer mostly obliterated the stenciling, so I re-did repeated the stenciling but you might not be bothered by it. 

Trim the image panel  to 4.75" x 6.75", edge with Dark Denim Elements Premium Dye Ink, and adhere it to a 5" x 7" black card.

Edge the sentiment stickers with a black pen. My stickers are on the old side so I adhered them with the Quickie Glue Pin Point Roller Pen by Sakura.

Use embossing ink to stamp the "Birthday Wishes" sentiment from the Heartfelt Verses Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Lavinia Stamps. Add detail white embossing powder to the wet ink, dump the excess back into its container, and heat emboss. Use a cutting die to cut the sentiment and adhere it as shown.

Use a white paint pen to randomly add white "stars" to the background to finish the card.
