Katzelkraft Giraffe Journal

Hello there, it's Lisa Hoel! Today I have a new mini journal project to share with you!

Topflight Stamps has the new Seth Apter embossing powders in stock so I finally got to play with some of them. The Baked Velvet embossing powders are great for layering with stamping and stenciling! On the journal front I stamped the Katzelkraft giraffe and some texture and then covered it with the Maize Powder. I layered that over a panel that I had embossed with Taos Sunset (which is totally gorgeous!!)

On the covers I stenciled and stamped and then embossed it all with the various colors from the Sahara Kit. The Baked Velvets have a really interesting matte finish when you emboss them.

Katzelkraft | Hello Gorgeous!

Hi all, welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog!! We are showcasing Katzelkraft this week - Jenny here, and I have quick but very fun card for you today!

I'm focusing on the funny Katzelkraft Ostrich image.

I just had to team it with the Katzelkraft Holiday Quotes, which is great all year round!

To create my card I simply stamped the Ostrich in black ink (I used Versafine Onyx Black ink as this is such a fine detailed image).  I hung off the image from the bottom of the white card panel as if it was peeping up - you can also angle it a few different ways to peep in off the sides or top.

I then created the 'Hello Gorgeous' sentiment from the Holiday Quotes stamp set and stamped them in the same black ink.  Doesn't this go great with the image? :D After stamping,  I spattered some of the ink with a waterbrush.

To add a little something, I used a Nuvo Midas Touch Shimmer pen to splatter some gold over the panel, and I also colored in the ostrich's beak for that 'faboulous dahling' look.

Enjoy!

Flower Blossoms...

Happy hello... Annette Allen here with you today to share this card I created using That's Crafty: Fanciful Flowers stamp set by Fliss Goodwin

I did a simple Ranger Distress Oxide ink background and stamped this gorgeous leaf from the Fanciful Flowers stamp set repeatedly until background was covered.

I added little of white accents with a misc. white gel pen. This highlights the leaf a little more and well I just like adding the white gel to my stamped images.

I stamped the sentiment on some black card stock and embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment and adhered to card using foam adhesives to give it some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bright Flower from PaperArtsy

Hello Topflight fans! Ericka here and I hope you had a wonderful Easter and spring has come to your part of the world. Today I have a big and bright flower from PaperArtsy that I turned into a card.

I love this big bloom and its fun doodles. You can find this set here.

I embossed the flower and leaves with Emerald Creek Midnight Magic which is a beautiful blue.

I used watercolor markers to give the flower and leaves a variety of bright colors.

I used a stencil from AALL & Create Broken Circles with some Spun Sugar Distress Oxide to give the background a little color and pattern. I then stamped some doodles around the edge to give the background a little more interest.

I hope you have a beautiful day and thanks for stopping by. To find more details on how I created this card feel free to stop by my blog Stangely Creative.

Fairy Sunset

Hello again, Topflight fans!  Toni with you today sharing a fairy sunset card. So dreamy, isn't it?

I started the card by masking a circle for the Lavinia moon on the card base. I love this stamp.  It's a great size and one I'll use again and again for sure (Halloween, here I come!).

Next I sponged Distress Oxide Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed, Blueprint Sketch and Black, trying to mimic a sky right when the full moon has come out but you can still see the glorious sunset. I then spattered Copic Opaque White for stars, after masking the sunset part.

I pulled off the moon's mask and stamped the moon in Memento London Fog.

After that I stamped the Stampscapes Large Cove woodblock stamp with Versafine Onyx Black at the bottom of the card then pulled out my MISTI to stamp the Lavinia Tree Goddess Luna. Isn't she glorious?  I stamped her a couple of times, accidentally nudging the card base but she turned out just fine.

Feel free to take a look at my other creations on my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, or by following me on Instagram.  I hope you have a fairy happy rest of your week!

High Flying Birthday Card with IndigoBlu and Eileen Hull

Good morning, Lisa Hoel here with a card to share with you today. It can be tough to make masculine cards but I think this one I made for my father-in-law fits the bill!

I used Distress Oxide Sprays for the background and one of Eileen Hull's new embossing powders for the clouds! You can see more info on my blog post.

Paper Rose | Beautiful Day Watercolor

Hi everyone and welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog!

It's Jenny here, and I am using Paper Rose's gorgeous Beautiful Day stamp.   This is a large image with large open areas and just perfect for watercoloring, so that's just what I did!

I stamped the image in embossing ink onto cold press watercolor cardstock.  I then heat embossed it in gold embossing powder (which makes it easier to watecolor, as the embossing powder creates little wells for the paint).

I used Daniel Smith watercolors to paint it, with Greengold and Quinacridone Rose for all of the leaves (I thought these looked a lot like succulents), and a hint of Azo Yello and Sepia on the small florals.    I finished with an incredibly light wash of Cobalt Blue around the edge for sky.  Just for a little more contrast I used a brown pencil to add in some shading.

I trimmed out the image and backed it onto a white notecard with craft foam.   The Many Thanks sentiment was heat embossed in gold on black cardstock and popped up on foam tape.  A few sparkling clear sequins finished my card.

I think next time I'll be using this image as flowers instead of succulents.  Super versatile!

Have a wonderful day all!

Hello....

Happy Friday.. Annette Allen here with you today to share a card I created using Crafty Individuals: Lace Doilies, Creative Expressions: Stylish Script and Paperartsy: Tracey Scott Stencil

The background I created with the Paperartsy: Tracey Scott Stencil and Ranger Oxide inks. I stamped three of the pretty Crafty Individuals: Lace Doilies and cut them out leaving a hint of white around the edges. I then layered them using Scotch foam adhesives to give it some dimension.

Finishing up with the Hello sentiment from Creative Expressions: Stylish Script. I embossed the sentiment and again cut around the edges and adhered to the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ink Smooshing with Crafty Indivduals

Hello Topflight fans, Ericka here with two quick spring time cards.

This bird by Crafty Individual is so pretty and such a great spring time image.
https://topflightstamps.com/products/crafty-individuals-unmounted-rubber-stamp-blossom-robin

For both cards I used watercolor makers and smooshed the color on the paper using some leftover plastic. I kept adding ink until I got the layers of color I wanted.

I wanted this card to have a lighter look and stamped the image in Versafine ink and clear heat embossed it.

For the second card, I added more ink using Jane Daveport Mermaid Markers to the paper and then heat embossed the image with Emerald Creek Midnight Magic to add a blue to the card.

It was fun to play around with ink smooshing for this lovely image. Feel free to check out my blog Strangely Creative for more details on how I created this card. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Background Music

Isn't this the truth?!  LOL.  Toni here with you today. Let's jump right in!

I did the background of the card first using Aall and Create Quadrilaterals Stencil with Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio. This has quickly become one of my favorite stencils!

I then stamped the pianist and a few musical notes from Crafty Individuals Musical Notes in Versafine Onyx Black. If you look closely, you can see where the Distress Oxide peeks through the black a bit. This doesn't happen with regular ink, just pigment. I rather like the effect myself.

I finished the card using one of the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Vintage Paper Dolls and one of his Snarky Small Talk sentiments. Pretty sure my life's soundtrack would involve something from the Marx Brothers!

And before I forget, TFS is having an amazing Easter sale! You can pick up the products I used here and lots more. Hop on over and start shopping!

I'll see you next week!  In the meantime, you can check out my other creations on my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, or follow me on Instagram.

Hickory Dickory Dock…

…the mouse ran up the…bookmark? ;-) It's Lisa Hoel and I'm back with another project to share. This week the team is focusing on stamps from Crafty Individuals. I received the Hickory Dickory Dock stamp set and it just called out for a bookish application – hence a bookmark!

I love the detail in the Crafty Individuals stamps. I lightly stamped and inked in the background with Distress Ink and then let the main stamping take front stage. A little bit of watercolor highlights the design. I think I'm going to laminate this to protect it and make it a very practical bookmark. =)

Thanks for stopping by! Take note, Topflight Stamps has a sale running now through the 20th. Check it out!
