The background was created using Infusions- powder that packs a fabulous color with a walnut edge to it when water is added.
Next up was a touch of distress in Fire Coral by Prism Ink.

Some background stamping was done using the awesome leaf stamp by PaperArtsy.

Finally the cute cat/bottle from another set ZA16 by PaperArtsy.

Some fun washi was popped on to add a bit of fun!! Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope you have a chance to play!!!

Dream MDF Sign for Topflight Stamps

Hello Topflight Fans!! Karen Bearse here with a fabulous altered piece called Dream. For a full tutorial including links to all the products, head over to my blog here.

I had so much fun designing this project. It really gives the opportunity to make some great home decor. The sky is the limit.

This is what my sign looked like to start. It is made with MDF or medium-density fiber board, & made by Debbi Moore. You can find all kinds of signs & quotes to play with. I went with a beachy theme cause I frikkin love the beach!!!

PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints & Crackle Glaze was used for this project. The base coat is South Pacific, followed by the Crackle, then Aqua Duck Egg, (love the names) '& finally Blueberry

For the embossing Eileen Hull has these nummy chunky powders in Golden Rod, Aqua Splash & Seth Apter's in Dirty Sand were the perfect beachy additions all made by Emerald Creek.

While adding the details some Diamond Sparkle was definitely called for!  A few Beautiful Blues & Vintage Browns were placed among sequins, glass bead gel along with some charms.

This was a very fun project to do & I love my new sign!! Thanks for joining me today, I hope I could inspire. & that you get the chance to play with the quotes by Debbi Moore.

Craftiness is Happiness

Happy Friday Topflight Fans! Ericka here and today I have something a little different. I've been playing with this MDF Life Quote from Debbie Moore.

https://topflightstamps.com/products/debbi-moore-designs-mdf-life-quotes-craftiness-is-happiness?_pos=7&_sid=5c0abab9e&_ss=r&ref=xuzipf8pid

I must admit that when I first got this I wasn't sure what to do with it. As a card maker, it was a little intimidating to figure out where to start and how to make these beautiful words unique. In the end I decided to add paint and embossing powder for color.

I love how this came out and it was so easy to use the PaperArtsy paint. I used Summer Sky and Twilight for an ombre look to my MDF.

https://topflightstamps.com/products/paperartsy-fresco-chalk-paint-twilight?_pos=2&_sid=c6498a58a&_ss=r&ref=xuzipf8pid

Once my paint was dry, I added some fun embossing powders to give the piece some sparkle and shine. After all, glitter and shine is important to happiness!

Thanks for stopping by and if you want more details on how I created this piece, feel free to stop by Strangely Creative.

P.S. Come back on Sunday, September 29th for a special post and Celebrate National Coffee Day with us.

Happy Haunting

Hello Cathy here with my last guest designer post. I wanted to say Thank you to Donna and Lisa for picking me for September guest designer.
What else would I pick to make for my last card. A Halloween card.

I took a scrap of pattern paper and eyes stencil and used black ink and made the background. Layered it on a orange pattern paper. Next I added some purple washi tape down one side of the layers. Set aside.
Stamp ghost on white cardstock and cut out. What I really like about this set you have a choice of faces for your ghost or pumpkin.
Also stamp saying and cut out. It just seamed too bright white so I took some black oxide ink and smudged it all around the saying. Layer it with black cardstock.
Add ghost and saying to front of pattern paper.
Stamp web  on card base and add the layers of the pattern paper to the card.

Again I want to say Thank you again Topflight Stamps for having me as a guest designer.

Messy Me

Hello, Topflight fans! Toni here with you today sharing a fall-themed craft room decoration.  Have you seen the various Debbi Moore Designs MDF Plaques in the shop?

Here I'm using the Debbi Moore Designs MDF Life Quotes Plaque. You can use the plaque as is or you can fancy it up every which way!

I applied a random coating of Modge Podge onto the MDF and then covered that with gold leafing. I knew I hadn't wasted my $1 at that crafty garage sale 5 years ago!  LOL.

Oh, wait, before that, I applied a coat of white acrylic paint--you can see it along the edges.

Once all that was dry and I had gotten as much of the leafing off literally everything, including the cats (they were so glamorous!), I applied more Modge Podge to the flowers and used Studio Light Art by Marlene Collage Paper #3 over it. You can especially see the paper on the larger flowers.

I sponged some Prism Ink (Orange Zest, Red Chili and Blackcurrant Jam) next.  That worked really well as some of the paper was present so it had something to stick to.  I coated the lot with a final bit of Modge Podge and then randomly sprinkled Copper Pearl Ex. Really hard to capture the shimmer of that but it looks fab with the grungy gold and paint.

Have a crafty rest of your week!

Listen to the Current of Your Heart

Hello! Lisa Hoel here. This week the Design Team is taking a look at a new product in the store: MDF desk plaques by Debbi Moore. There are designs for every occasion! I received a mermaid themed one to decorate. (Donna knows me so well!)

The plaques are made from laser cut MDF and come ready for you to paint, ink, spray and otherwise doctor up however you like. They would make a great gift or piece of home decor! I used Fresco chalk paint, glitter paint, embossing powder and foil to bling mine up.

Head on over to my blog for the how-to on the techniques I used to decorate my sign.

Thanks for stopping by! Below is a list of supplies I used. Be sure to check back in because all week long we will be sharing more of these plaques. =)

Pick of the Patch

Happy Friday Topflight Stamp Fans! Ericka here with a cute Halloween card using Polkadoodles Pick of the Patch. I love this little set and the mouse is so cute!

This set comes with only one mouse, but he or she was very easy to mask off so I could put them in the pumpkin as well as the shoe they came in.

https://topflightstamps.com/products/polkadoodles-clear-polymer-stamp-set-a6-pick-of-the-patch?_pos=1&_sid=e3ff52716&_ss=r&ref=xuzipf8pid

There are so many other cards you can also make with this set. I can't wait to use just the pumpkin for a clean and simple card and the candy and leaves are fun additions.

For more information on how I created my card, feel free to stop by my blog Strangely Creative. Until then, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Toxique Bones

Hello Cathy Norton here with a Halloween card I have made for you this week. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I love making cards for it.

I started out with some Distress Oxide Spray. I sprayed and smooched the spray on white cardstock. I really loved how it gave a rusty, grungy look.
Next I stamped the web border on the top of the card.

On a scrap piece of paper I stamped the skeleton and cut out and added foam tape to the back. The stark white of the skeleton just pops on the grungy card. I stamped the Happy Halloween next to the skeleton and it didn't stamp straight so I covered it with some washi and Halloween ephemera.

Boo!

Ghostly greetings, Topflight fans! Toni here with you today sharing a Halloween card. I love this time of year! The turning leaves, the cooling weather, the upcoming holidays.  Yay!!!!

I started the card by sponging the Darkroom Door Mixed Boxes Stencil with Distress Oxides.

Next I stamped some Aall and Create Textures #50 images using Distress Oxide and Versafine Onyx Black.

Lastly I stamped the sentiments from Polkadoodles Spooktacular using Versafine Onyx Black and positioned a few of the ghosts on the card front.

I love that the ghosts can have different faces and even scars. This is a versatile set for sure!

Oh my goodness!  I just realized these ghosts could be used head down so then they're wearing hats. Neat!
