Discover Tag!

 Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week my teammates and I are exploring the wonderful world of mixed media.

Here's my tag created with Lady Vagabond and Sir Vagabond 8x8 Paper Pads by Stamperia, Wolf Eye, Sea Glass, Cloudy, and Double Denim Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints by PaperArtsy, the Discover Word Series Stencil by That's Crafty, Washi Tape 2 by Autour de Mwa for AALL and Create, and Rusty Car, Royal Blood, and Green Man Infusions by PaperArtsy.

This tag is a bit unusual for me as there is absolutely no stamping on this project! I could have stamped Lady Vagabond from the Lady Vagabond Foam Mounted Stamp Set or Sir Vagabond from the Sir Vagabond Foam Mounted Stamp Set, but instead, I opted to fussy-cut the seated Lady Vagabond from the Lady Vagabond 8x8 Paper Pad by Stamperia.

I started the project by painting the tag with Wolf Eye, Sea Glass, Cloudy, and Double Denim Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints by PaperArtsy. All the colors I used were opaque, so there was no need to prime the mdf tag with gesso. 

When the paint was dry, I applied texture paste through "Discover" in the Discover Word Series Stencil by That's Crafty. I immediately sprinkled embossing enamel over top, dumped off the excess, and heat set it.

The next step was to adhere the patterned paper from the Sir Vagabond 8x8 Paper Pad by Stamperia to the painted tag. The map is of the New York/New Jersey area and actually includes the town where I reside! How cool is that?

Washi Tape 2 by Autour de Mwa for AALL and Create was lightly tinted with Archival ink, then added to the tag to add a bit more visual interest. The fussy-cut Lady Vagabond was adhered, then Distress Archival ink was used to add some shadow behind her.

Brown Jute was wrapped around the base of the tag and a charm was attached. 

A magnifying piece of plastic was adhered over my town and environs.

Three pieces of seam binding were sprayed with water, sprinkled with Rusty Car, Royal Blood, and Green Man Infusions by PaperArtsy, heat set, then threaded through the hole in the tag.

AALL & Create Tracy Evans Penguin Mixed Media Tag & Card

 

Happy winter friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share some fun mixed media projects featuring the fun new penguin stamp set by Tracy Evans for AALL & Create (#604).  I couldn't wait to have a play with these stamps!  I ended up making a tag/card combo because I just couldn't stop with one project. 

I used texture paste through the Mosaic stencil (#54) onto watercolor paper and while the paste was wet sprinkled the top with Sleight Blue Infusions powder by PaperArtsy.  I sprayed and sprayed with water to let the color run through the texture pattern and then let it dry completely.  In the end I liked the darker portion at the bottom, so I cut up the 6x6 panel and mounted it onto a tag, making a mini tag from the cast off, on which I stamped the tiny text in the set, so cute! 

I used a very old Sizzix die to cut the snowflake from thin chipboard, then covered the entire piece with more texture paste for a snowy effect.  I added some silk ribbon and a mounted sentiment sticker to finish it off. 

Next, I played around with the paper I used to mop up the inks from the Infusions drips.  

I used the Brrr stamp to add subtle contrast in the background (Iced Spruce DOX) then used the extra paper to tear snowy hills.  I scraped texture paste on the tops and sprinkled with holographic embossing powder and heat set to add some shimmer.  I gave everything a splash of Bronze Glimmer Mist and added another sentiment.  This time I added a little watercolor detail to the penguins for a color pop.  I'd like thank my teammate Kathi for sharing this fabulous textured paper with me, which made the perfect mat for this colorway.  :)

Polkadoodle Snowball Kisses

 

Happy New Year to all of you and I hope your 2022 is going well. Ericka with Strangely Creative here and today I'm playing with a cute Polkadoodle Snowball Kisses set and PaperArtsy Infusions on photo paper.

For the New Year, I was cleaning up my craft room when I came across some photo paper. I wanted to play with some different background methods and so I decided to use PaperArtsy Infusions with my the photo paper.  The fun thing about the photo paper is once water is added to the powder it "freezes" on the surface and you can get a bunch of fun textures.

After playing around with a couple of backgrounds and colors (check out our Instagram), I decided to see if I could stamp the Polkadoodle Snowball Kisses directly on the photo paper and color it up using Prism Brush markers. I then individually added the Infusions in Lemoncello, Sunset Beach, and In the Navy. After each color, I let the paper dry before I added a new color.

I added the sentiment and some snowflakes around the background to finish my card. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a chance to create.

This was the set that inspired my design. Love these quotes & how cool & sketchy they are. 

 A few stencils were used including Daisy, Daisy. 

This is where the cool bricks started from- Stone Wall. Using Grit Paste with this made the stone so realistic!

For color PaperArtsy Infusions were used for all the background color. Love these pods of powder that create such beautiful color.

The paint was applied with a brayer.

Simple Mixed Media Christmas Cards with PaperArtsy Infusions

 

Hi friends and happy Monday!  I'm excited to share a quick video tutorial with you today on creating super simple mixed media Christmas cards. I used a combination of PaperArtsy stamps and Infusions for these cards and made all three in just a couple of hours (including video time).  I used the gorgeous new Tracy Scott snowflake stamp set TS063.  I paired with a sentiment from Sara Naumann's Christmas stamp set ESN29.  I am smitten over the XL words in this set!

I shared this second Infusions video a couple of years ago if you'd like to see even more.  Maybe it will give you ideas for when Valentine's Day comes around!

I used three colors for these cards: Royal Blood, Raspberry (Magenta is slightly darker but available at Topflight Stamps) and Violet Storms.

That's Crafty Batty for You

 

Hello friends! Ericka Strange here from Strangely Creative and I have a fun Halloween card using That's Crafty Halloween Collection 1 . 

 This is a fun set and perfect for a cute Halloween card. I stamped this fun bat and clear heat embossed her. I then colored her up with some watercolor crayons.

Next I used the PaperArtsy Violet Storm Infusions and sprinkled it on the background. I spritzed it a couple of times with water until I got a background color I liked.I love the Infusions Powders and the beautiful and unique colors you get.

 

I then used the Darkroom Door Circles Stencil to use with Cosmic Shimmer Lava Paste and Distress Oxide Spray in Mustard Seed. I finished my card with the fun sentiment heat embossed in white.

Tracy Scott PaperArtsy Infusions Mixed Media Tag

 

Hi everyone!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a mixed media tag inspired by a recent post by Claire Snowden on the PaperArtsy blog.  Make sure to check it out.  I used a shipping box with thin corrugated cardboard to make a tag.  I removed the top layer of paper from the edges of the tag, then painted it with watery white gesso.  I spread some crackle paste along the edges then used PaperArtsy Infusions in Sleight Blue to tint the panel.  I sealed it with a bit of matte medium then added some sponging with brown and aqua permanent inks to bring out a little more color.

I made a darker piece of paper with the Infusions and stamped a gorgeous blossom by Tracy Scott from PaperArtsy Eclectica stamp set ETS31 onto it, one in black and one embossed in copper.  I popped two of them above one stamped on the tag itself.

I stamped Sara Naumann's gorgeous stamp from stamp set ESN46 behind the flowers, but it is hard to see (the pointed petals show).  I stamped the sentiment from this stamp set onto my scrap Infusions paper and added it along the bottom.  I then added a bit of stencil paste with PaperArtsy stencil PA021 to bring in some extra white and used a white paint pen to add more contrast to the flower centers.  I hope you're inspired by this tag and will break out your Infusions and make a grungy cardboard project of your own!  Hugs, Autumn
