Christmas Snowflakes

Hello!  This week at Topflight Stamps, we're celebrating CHRISTMAS in July!!  I went with a clean and simple design, making Visible Image "Let It Snow" stamp set the star attraction here.  With WOW! Embossing Ink and WOW! Weathered Gold embossing powder, I stamped the largest snowflake in the center of the card, and then at each of the four corners, and used a heat tool.  The shine on this is gorgeous in person (see second photo below).  The very center of the main snowflake has a cluster of juniper berries from PaperArtsy - Alison Bomber - Juniper Edition.  I stamped it on a scrap piece of cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with alcohol markers and fussy-cut.  It passes easily for a different kind of berry; it's a versatile stamp set!

One Magic Night 7/6/26

Hi, friends!  It's Walter Zemrock on the blog with you today sharing my first post as a member of the Topflight Stamps team.  I'm truly excited to be joining this team of amazing creators and look forward to opportunity to share designs with you.  This week's theme is Christmas, and I couldn't be happier about that!  It's a time of the year filled with so much magic and wonder . . . and I enjoy trying to capture that in my designs.

Today's card was created with products from Lavinia Stamps: Christmas Night - Santa's Sleigh, Snowy Fir Tree - Small, Forrest Scene, Annie & Edward Set, and Christmas Greetings.  In addition, I also used several Versafine Clair Ink pads (Nocturne, Blue Belle, Fallen Leaves, Green Oasis), Hunkydory Gold & Silver Diamond Sparkles Precious Pearls, as well as several items from my stash: watercolor paper panel, white pigment ink, ink pouncer applicator, white acrylic marker, and gel pens.

I began by applying the Blue Belle ink to the watercolor panel using a baby wipe.  Watercolor paper is a great background for this card for two reasons: 1). it won't pill as you pounce and swipe the baby wipe across it, and 2). it has texture that works great when creating a snowy scene.  I simply smoosh my ink pad onto my glass crafting surface, swipe the ink with the baby wipe, and add it to the paper by pouncing and swiping it around.  I then follow up by using my blue ink blending brush to swipe back and forth to blend it all a bit.  Note that you're not looking for a completely unified ink blended background and variations are okay. 

I then used my ink pouncing brush and white pigment ink to gently soften the color by randomly pouncing all over the panel.  This softens the blue color and fills in variations to create a snowy night sky.  I followed that up my adding white splatter to the card panel to create the falling snow.

 I was then able to determine the placement of images in my scene and stamp them.  Note that I achieved the darker green shade for the fir trees by stamping them first with Fallen Leaves and then stamping them with Green Oasis on top of it.

Once the stamping was done, I was able to add details.  I used a white gel pen to add snow onto tree branches, yellow and orange glitter gel pens to add a light effect around the lantern and candle, and a white acrylic marker to add some heavier snow impressions and snowy ground for Annie & Edward to stand on.

I just love Annie & Edward!  They add such a sense of wonder to the scene by standing there with their lights, looking up at Santa, and watching as he flies above them.  All I can think of is BELIEVE as I look at this card!

IndigoBlu Christmas Card

Hello!  You've got Colleen here for Topflight Stamps - and this week our focus is on the brand, IndigoBlu!  I used their Christmas Dictionary stamp - fabulous background.  Love the old font.  I stamped it in VersaFine Onyx Black on a neutral colored panel, and layered this panel on a red card base.  The focal point is a trio of holly leaf postage stamps from AALL & Create's Carols and Cancellations, carefully trimmed and colored with alcohol markers.  I created garlands with PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Mini 92 stamp, which features sprigs of mistletoe.  I trimmed out the mistletoe from four stamped images, then touched them with various shades of brown inks and added a touch of glimmer from Lindy's Stamp Gang Pixie Dust.

Hello!  We've got "Anything Goes" this week at Topflight Stamps, and I'm sharing a Christmas card to put away for later this year!  I started with a pretty marble-ish piece of paper from Craft Consortium Ink Drops Ocean Paper pad, because it reminds me of a frozen pond.  I splattered it with Lavinia Snow White Chalk Paint and set aside to dry.  With a Crealies Rectangle die, I cut a piece of white paper and stamped a sentiment from Creative Expressions "Tis The Season" stamp set with Versafine Clair Nocturne Black ink.  I dragged the edges of the rectangle with WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying embossing ink pad, then sprinkled on WOW! Pure Platinum embossing powder and hit it with a heat tool.  I also used some of the platinum embossing powder in random spots on the sentiment panel, and used the heat tool from underneath the paper so it wouldn't blow around.  On a scrap piece of cardstock, I stamped two holly clusters from Visible Image "Christmas Robin" with Memento Tuxedo ink.  Then I colored, fussy cut, and glued them to the sentiment panel.  Thanks for joining me, hope you have a terrific day! ~ Colleen

Lavinia's Snowy Forest Christmas Card

Hello!  We're focusing on the beautiful products from Lavinia today at Topflight Stamps.  I gathered a couple of versatile stamps to create a snowy winter forest Christmas card.  I began with watercolor paper and Lindy's Stamp Gang Buccaneer Bay Blue Mist to create a moody background.  This spray has both a walnut brown and a pretty blue shift to it.  Once it dried, I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp first the Lavinia Moon.  Once that was positioned on the panel, I stamped the Lavinia Christmas Tree Group three times (well, really 2 and 1/8) across the bottom of the panel. And using the same ink, I stamped a sentiment from PaperArtsy Alison Bomber EAB05 stamp set to round it out.  The final touch was some iridescent glitter glue, dabbed across the trees.  Thanks so much for joining me, hope you have a great day! ~ Colleen

Creative Expressions Christmas Cards

Hello, Lisa Hoel here. This week at Topflight Stamps our brand focus is on Creative Expressions. They have so many great stamp designs! I'm taking the opportunity to make some more Christmas cards to send.

I really like the Jane's Doodles whimsical Christmas Tree stamp set. I first stamped the trees onto white cardstock and then embossed with clear detail embossing powder. After heat setting, I spayed the backgrounds is with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Autumn Leaves Starburst Spray set (Ponderosa Pines Olive and Autumn Maple Crimson). When that was dry, I laid a piece of absorbent plain newsprint paper over the embossed paper and ironed it with my craft iron. It causes the embossing powder to re-melt and absorb into the newsprint. (Don't let it cool and stick the newsprint to your background!) This gives you a faux batik look.

A Festive Tea Party Christmas Card

 

Hello craft friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here, and today I’m finally putting to use a supply I’ve been a little too good at saving. Washi lovers, you’ll understand the struggle. I adore it, I collect it, and then I get nervous about actually using it.

 

This time I pulled out the Tea Party washi from Penpaling Paula. It’s cheerful, whimsical, and perfect for a quick Christmas design paired with the AALL & Create Season’s Cheer sentiment.

To build the card, I lined the washi across a piece of red cardstock, keeping the pattern tight and clean. Once the panel was covered, I die cut the Season’s Cheer sentiment from glittery gold cardstock and adhered it right on top. It’s simple, bright, and definitely delivers that Christmas sparkle.
