Gifts Under the Tree

Hey there, crafty friends!  Here in the good old US of A, it's Thanksgiving today, so you know what that means: Christmas is around the corner!  Less than a month away, actually!  Whether you're an early shopper or a last minute gift seeker, it's a time for sharing and caring.  So, I'm here to share my final Topflight Stamps November Guest Designer post for you.

It's a 5x7 art journal page featuring Magenta StampsPaperArtsy Stencils, Darkroom Door Stencils and Craft Emotions Stamps, making a cute Christmas scene.

I started off with a 5x7 piece of watercolor paper, pushing embossing ink through the PaperArtsy Snowflakes Stencil, then shook pearl embossing powder over the whole thing and then heating the powder to melt it.  Then, I painted watercolors in shade of blue over the whole thing, with the embossed areas acting as a resist.

Then I dabbed green paint with a little brown mixed in through the Darkroom Door Christmas Tree Set Stencil to create the Christmas, and when it dried, I traced around it with a thin black pen and dotted the tree with gold paint pen and red 3-D paint.  For a final touch, I glued down a little gold plastic star on the top of the tree.

For the presents, I stamped the Magenta- Presents- Gifts Stamp onto two different Christmas scrapbook papers and cut them out.  Then I cut out one of the presents and glued it onto the other so that there are two different wrapping papers.  Then I colored the ribbons with gold and green paint pens.

I used foam tape on the back of the presents to give then a little dimension when I stuck them next to the Christmas tree.

After I stamped the Craft Emotions Jingle All the Way  Merry Christmas sentiment onto red paper, I fussy cut around it and glued it onto a piece of striped paper that matches the striped package.  I edged the sentiment strip and the entire rest of the piece with gold paint pen.  To make the sentiment pop a bit, I filled in the open spaces on the bottom word with white paint pen.

I hope this project has helped you get in the holiday mood and makes you want to do some holiday crafting of your own.

Thanks for letting me into your crafting lives this month!

Christmas Owls

Hello, Topflight fans! I have two cute holiday cards for someone. Who? You!

My first card using the Leane Creatif Popco Winter Owl in a very clean and simple card.

The images are watercolored and the For the Love of Stamps O Christmas Tree sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.

The second card took more planning. I stamped the Leane Creatif Owlie Elf and colored it up with Copics.

I then masked the Leane Creatif Owlie Elf image and stamped Magenta Holiday Text with Prism Ink Red Chili.

Doesn't that Prism Ink Red Chili pop? I added a strip of striped paper and glitter washi to finish off the card.

Let It Snow!

Hello everyone!  Betsy here on the blog today bringing you a "Let It Snow" card using
the Dots to Diamonds Midnight paper craft pad from Hunkydory!

I first chose my panel from the Dots To Diamonds Midnight Papercraft Pad:

The gray dots on the paper indicate where to put all the pretty gemstones!  Before adhering those to my sheet I first cut my paper down to 4" x 5 1/4".  Then I heat embossed my sentiment and snowflakes with WOW Embossing Glitter in Iced Silver.  I stamped my tiny snowflakes over
the largest of the gray dots.  I also heat embossed the edges of the panel.
Then I applied my gems.  I used the  palest and the darkest ones and adhered them in a nice scattering.  I did not cover all of the gray dots.  After the gems were down, I added Nuvo Glitter Accents in Fresh Snowfall and covered the rest of the dots and added more.  I then adhered this panel to my A2 size top folding white card base that was covered in a very pale blue snowflake paper.  When everything was dry, I sprayed the entire card with an iridescent glitter spray.  And that finished my card!

A different color of embossing powder and different colored gems would give this card a completely different look!

Christmas Card Steampunk Style!

Hello, Lisa Hoel here to kick off the week with a mixed media Christmas card, steampunk style, for Topflight Stamps! First I layered gear die cuts over some foiled patterned paper. The stamped portrait of "Monsieur" sits atop a layer that I stamped and embossed with other steampunk themed stamps. I also found that the Santa hat from the Katzelkraft Funny Accessories stamp set fit him pretty well. ;-) I stamped and fussy cut that out separately. Some Christmas Selection Precious Pearls finished it off with just a bit more bling.

Thanks for stopping by and if you are here in the USA, happy Thanksgiving! Hopefully the weather will not hamper your travels. We are keeping a close eye on it here. Eek!

Find Your Happy Place - Stamped and Stenciled Art Journal Page

Hi to all my crafty friends! It's Mary here, with my 3rd November Guest Designer post for Topflight Stamps.

I started off by rolling dark turquoise paint onto watercolor paper, leaving a little bit of white here and there.  Then I tapped lighter turquoise paint through the Carabelle Studio The Sun Stencil Mask with a makeup sponge. Such a fun stencil to work with!

Then I traced around the stencil and then cut around the outside edge so that I had a big circle piece, which I double-sided taped to gold dot scrapbook paper that I had already taped to light turquoise paper. The final size is 8x8 inches.

I stamped the quirky and wonderful PaperArtsy Jofy 64 flowers onto pink patterned scrapbook paper and highlighted some of the areas with white paint pen and turquoise glitter pen to make them stand out a bit. I then fussy cut them out.

I wanted the smaller one to stand out, so I glued the big flower down flat, and used foam tape to add dimension to the smaller one.

I drew in stems with a black marker and a green paint pen, then glued down die-cut leaves to the stems. I traced around the leaves a bit with a black marker.

I flicked some white paint around with a brush for more texture.  When that was dry, I dotted the blue parts with gold paint pen, sort of mimicking the bigger gold dots.

I found a gold sentiment in the same paper pack as the gold dot paper and fussy cut it out and glued it down. It appropriately says "find your happy place". I'm truly happy when I'm making art.

I love the gold with the turquoise and pink!

I hope this inspires you to create your own art journal page with these cool supplies!

Magical Holiday Deer

Oh, my goodness.  Isn't this Aall and Create Deer dreamy? I absolutely love it and am going to have a hard time sending this card out for the holidays.

I stamped and watercolored the Aall and Create Deer.  After masking the deer, I sponging Distress Oxide Salty Ocean and spattered a bit of water. Noticed I used the PaperArtsy JOFY PS147 Stencil a bit too.

I love the swirls--snow and wind come to mind here.

I used Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough with Creative Expressions Enigma (icicles), Aall and Create Textures #50, and Polkadoodles Birds Together for additional interest.

I added some snowflakes from Visible Image Snowman Jack with white pigment ink and Distress Oxide Evergreen Bough. I spattered a bit of Copic Opaque White too.

So very dreamy. Magical, really.
