Waiting for Karma

It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here today to share a project created for an "Anything Goes" theme this week.  I've been in an odd mood so I created an odd card with two of the critters from the Sea Creatures Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set KTZ226 by Katzelkraft, a sentiment from the No Regrets Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Visible Image, and patterned paper from the Ombre 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad by Craft Consortium Ltd. I also used Bermuda, Blue Atoll, Della Blue, and Confetti Elements Premium Dye Inks by Lavinia Stamps!

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the startled-looking odd creature and the pelican from the Sea Creatures Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set KTZ226 by Katzelkraft twice — once onto white Copic friendly cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Fussy-cut the sticker versions of the stamped creatures and set them aside to be used as masks.

Use Copic markers to color the creatures. 

Place a piece of clear acetate horizontally across the image panel right above the bottom of the critters, being sure that the acetate is covering the top of the image panel.

Brush or sponge Bermuda Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the acetate onto the bottom part of the image panel so that it's covering the bottom portion of the creatures. Brush or sponge Blue Atoll Elements Premium Dye Ink over the acetate to complete their watery background.

Remove the acetate. Clean and dry it. Place the sticker paper versions of the critters over their counterparts on the image panel. Place the acetate panel so that it's sitting on the horizontal inked line covering the bottom part of the image panel.

Brush or sponge Della Blue Elements Premium Dye Ink onto the image panel, working horizontally from the top of the panel down to the acetate to create a sky background. Brush or sponge Confetti Elements Premium Dye Ink over the image panel to add some pink hues to the sky.

Use an alcohol filled Fine Spray Misters by Spectrum Noir to mist the background. This will blend and mottle the ink.

Remove the masks and the acetate from the image panel. Use a N6 Copic marker to increase the size of the worried-looking creature's pupil. Use a white gel pen to add a highlight to its pupil.

Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the "Karma" sentiment from the No Regrets Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Visible Image.

Trim the image panel and edge with Bermuda and Della Blue Elements Premium Dye Inks.

Select a piece of patterned paper from the Ombre 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad by Craft Consortium Ltd. to match the image panel. This will be the background panel.

Adhere the image panel so that it's centered on the patterned paper, then trim the background panel so that there are even borders around it. 

Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink to edge the patterned paper, then adhere the card front to a black card.

Spring Is In The Air!

It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. Our theme this week is "Anything Goes". I'm so happy that Spring is finally beginning to show her colors that I've created a card to celebrate its arrival with Katzelkraft's Meerkats, Funny Accessories, and Water Wall Unmounted Red Rubber Stamps. 

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the dancing meerkat from the Meerkats Unmounted Red Rubber Unmounted Stamp Set by Katzelkraft twice — once onto a piece of Bristol Paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Heat set the Bristol Paper version.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask. 

Position the umbrella stamp from the Funny Accessories Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set by Katzelkraft facedown on the image panel so that its handle is on the Meerkat's hand and the umbrella is over his head. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the umbrella twice— once onto a piece of Bristol Paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Heat set the Bristol paper version.

Use Copic markers to color the Meerkat and his umbrella. Use a black pen to increase the size of his pupils. Use a white gel pen to add catchlights to his pupils.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the umbrella and place it over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask. 

Use the second largest die from the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by CREAlies to cut the image panel. 

Place the image panel die-cut onto a magnetic craft mat. Position one of the hills masks from the Mini Hills Acrylic Mask/Stencils by Lavinia Stamps so that it's covering the Meerkat's feet and part of his tail. Secure the mask in place with magnets and/or low-tack tape.

Brush two colors of grey/blue Distress Ink over the the Mini Hills Acrylic Mask and the masked images onto the image panel die-cut to add a gloomy sky. Use a water-filled Fine Spray Misters by Spectrum Noir to mist the image panel to add white splats and splatter. Heat set the image panel die-cut.

Trace the Mini Hills Acrylic Mask onto a piece of scrap cardstock. Cut the cardstock along the tracing line to create two temporary masks. Place the top section of the cardstock mask over the sky and the masked Meerkat. Brush two colors of green Distress ink over the paper stencil onto the imamge panel die-cut to create a grassy hill background. Tear a piece of scrap cardstock. Brush the darker green over the torn edge of the cardstock to add shading and shadows below the Meerkat. Retain the two pieces of the traced Mini Hills Acrylic Mask for another use.

Position the image panel die-cut onto the base of a stamping platform. Position the Water Wall Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp by Katzelkraft facedown along the right side of the image panel die-cut. Use Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Water Wall Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp. Remove the image panel die-cut and use Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink to edge it.  Heat set image panel die-cut.

Use a Clear Gloss Glaze gel pen to highlight the grey-stamped waterdrops, the white spots created when the panel was misted, and areas of the grassy hill.

Adhere the image panel die-cut to a black A6 card. Add sentiment stickers to finish the card.

Punny Valentines for the 14th with Katzelkraft

Hello, Lisa Hoel here. This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Anything Goes". I'm still going to town with the Valentine theme so I created a set of "punny" valentines like the kind you used to hand out to your grade school classmates. I'm amused by all the goofy puns on those vintage valentines so I made up some of my own to pair with the funny Katzelkraft stamp images.

To make these, I first made some masterboards to chop up for the backgrounds. I layered ink sprays, stamping and washi tape (AALL & Create #52 Blush) and used watercolor paper for the substrate.

Using both the Holey Fun and Quirky Post AALL & Create die sets, I cut the inner sections from the masterboards and a backing of plain red cardstock. I stamped various Katzelkraft animal stamps onto separate paper, watercolored them and then fussy cut them out. My whole family contributed to brainstorming the punny sentiments which I printed out using my computer. It was fun!

Love is in the Air at Topflight Stamps

Hello, Lisa Hoel here. This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Pink & Red" which of course is perfect for making valentines!

The base is a background made with various pink inks and Maple Crimson Starburst Spray from the Autumn Leaves Lindy's Stamp Gang set. I used a mask (stencil) from Studio Light to make a monoprint of hearts over the inky background. I couldn't resist pulling out a Katzelkraft dragon stamp (love that derpy little guy) to use for my focal image.

This week the team's focus is on Red and Pink, which naturally makes me think of Valentine's Day! Here's my card created with the Jungle Animals Red Rubber Unmounted Stamp Set by Katzelkraft, Wild Hearts Clear Photopolymer Stamp Set by Katkin Krafts, Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by CREAlies, Sun and Clouds 6x6 Stencil by Carla Creates/Vaessen Creative, and Baby Pink, Charming Pink, and StrawberryVersaFine Clair Inks by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.

Here's the card!

Using a stamping platform, position the zebra and the rhinosaurus stamps from the Jungle Animals Red Rubber Unmounted Stamp Set by Katzelkraft facedown on a piece of white cardstock.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to ink the stamps. Stamp them twice — once onto the white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color both animals. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the animals and place them over their counterparts on the image panel as masks.

Place a piece of acetate horizontally across the image panel right above the zebra's posterior and the front paw. Brush Charming Pink VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko over the acetate onto the image panel to ground the zebra. Heat set the ink and place low-tack tape over the Charming Pink ground.

Use low-tack tape to secure the second largest die from the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by CREAlies facedown onto the image panel so that the animals are framed by the die. Run the die through a die-cut machine.

Keeping the image panel in the die, place the Sun and Clouds 6x6 Stencil by Carla Creates/Vaessen Creative towards the top of the image panel. Lightly brush Baby Pink VersaFine Clair Ink over the top edge of the stencil onto the image panel. Rotate the Sun and Clouds 6x6 Stencil, move it downwards, and brush Baby Pink VersaFine Clair Ink over the stencil and the masked images onto the image panel. Continue this process until the pink cloudy sky is complete. 

Clean the stencil, remove the image panel die-cut from the die, and heat set the ink.

Position the image panel die-cut back onto the base of the stamping platform. Place the elongated heart stamp from the Wild Hearts Clear Photopolymer Stamp Set by Katkin Krafts facedown on the image panel between the masked animals. Ink the heart stamp with Strawberry VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if needed to attain a good impression.

Remove the image panel die-cut from the stamping platform and heat set the heart. Remove the masks from the animals so they can see each other again.

Create an A6 card from white cardstock. Heavily sponge Strawberry VersaFine Clair Ink around the outer .75" of the card. Heat set the ink then adhere the image panel die-cut to the card. Add white stickers to create the sentiments and finish the card.

Meerry Christmas

It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi to share a project with you today! Before I get to today's post, I'd like to remind you that there's a CYBER MONDAY SALE at Topflight Stamps that ends tonight at 11:59 EST.

This week's theme is Anything Goes. Apparently I've been in the holiday spirit so I've created yet another Christmas card this time using stamps from companies that are no longer in business. Thankfully, products from Hobby Art, Craft Emotions, and Katzelkraft are still in stock at Topflight Stamps and it's the perfect time to get them!

Here it is!

Note: I used the Hedgy 4 Clear Stamp Set* by Craft Emotions, but it's no longer in stock. The  Funny Accessories Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set* by Katzelkraft has a Santa Hat that would work, plus it's got a lot of wonderful and fun stamps (other hats, a stack of gifts, a scooter, etc.) so you should get it while it's on sale and still available!

Position a Santa Hat so that it's centered towards the top of a panel of white cardstock. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Santa Hat twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Fussy-cut the sticker paper and position it atop its counterpart as a mask.

Position one of the meerkat stamps from the Meerkat Madness Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Hobby Art so that top of his head is on the mask. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Meerkat twice — once onto white cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and set it aside. Carefully remove the Santa Hat mask and set it aside.

Use Copic markers to color the Meerkat and his Santa Hat. Use a light blue and a light grey Copic marker to outline both images. Place both masks over their counterparts on the image panel. 

Use a long fishtail die to cut the image panel and a larger one to cut red cardstock.

Place the image panel die-cut onto a magnetic surface and secure with magnets. Place a piece of removable Scotch Tape horizontally across the the Meerkat's feet and tail. Position the Sun and Cloud Stencil by Carla Creates towards the top of the image panel die-cut. 

Brush or sponge Della Blue Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the top of the stencil onto the image panel die-cut. Rotate the stencil and move it downwards. Brush or sponge Della Blue Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the top of the stencil onto the image panel die-cut. Continue this process until you're happy with the cloudy background.

Move the Scotch Tape so that the bottom of the tape is sitting on the horizon line. Brush dark tan dye ink over the tape and the masked Meerkat's feet and tail. Brush a lighter tan ink to fill in the rest of the bottom of the image panel die-cut. 

Trim the flags off of the bottom of the image panel die-cut and the red cardstock die-cut. Use the red cardstock die-cut to mat the image panel. Edge it with shimmery gold ink.

Trim one of the plaid papers from the A Christmas Gingham 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions to 4.75" x 6.75" to create the background panel. Use Emperor Red Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps to edge the patterned paper, then edge it again with shimmery gold ink.

Use a "Merry "Christmas" cutting die to cut red cardstock twice. Adhere "Christmas" to the top of the background panel. Cut "Me" from one of the two "Merry" die-cuts. Adhere it to the top of the background panel. Cut "erry" from the other "Merry" die-cut and adhere it to the background panel to finish the word "Meerry". Adhere the background panel to a 5" x 7" red card.

Adhere the matted image panel to the right side of the background panel as shown.

Use a poinsettia die-cut set to cut red cardstock. Edge all the die-cuts with gold shimmery ink, then assemble them. Add a gold enamel dot to each one.Adhere the three three-layered poinsettias to the left side of the background panel to finish the card.
