Hocus Pocus

 Greetings! You've got Kathi here to share my weekly project created for Topflight Stamps, albeit a bit late. This week's theme is 'Anything Goes' and since it's the most wonderful time of the year, I've made another Halloween card, this time with products by Lavinia Stamps. I used the Arwen, Penelope, and Prue Clear Polymer Stamps. I also used one of stencils from the Autumn Mist Collection of Four Stencils and eight colors of Elements Premium Dye Inks.

Cut a piece of Mixed Media paper to 6" x 7" and secure it to a magnetic platform with magnets and/or low-tack tape to start the image panel. Secure the cave-like stencil from the Autumn Mist Collection of Four Stencils by Lavinia Stamps about 1" from the bottom of the panel. 

Brush Soft Cygnet Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the stencil onto the image panel. Brush Graphite Elements Premium Dye Ink over the stencil onto the image panel.

Slide a 6" piece of acetate under the stencil so that it sits horizontally at the base of the center circle of the stencil and extends to the edges. Secure the acetate with magnets and/or low-tack tape.

Brush Dark Denim Elements Premium Dye Ink over the acetate and the Autumn Mist Stencil around the edges of the panel. Brush Blue Lagoon Elements Premium Dye Ink over the acetate and the Autumn Mist Stencil, blending as you go. Repeat with both blue inks until you're happy with the color and blending. Use a water-filled Fine Spray Mister by Spectrum Noir to mist the background. Remove the stencil and the acetate and heat set the image panel.

Clean the acetate and place it horizontally across the image panel so it's covering the top part. Lightly brush Pine Elements Premium Dye Ink over the acetate to cover the bottom part of the image panel.

Use a small brush to apply Blue Lagoon Elements Premium Dye Ink around the inside of the circle "cave" opening. Use asmall brush to apply Merlot Elements Premium Dye Ink next to the Blue Lagoon Ink. Brush Marmalady Elements Premium Dye Ink vertically in the center of the circle "cave". Brush Anna Banana Elements Premium Dye Ink on either side of the orange ink. Touch up the "cave" circle as needed.

Thoroughly heat set the image panel. Place the image panel onto a stamping platform. Position the Arwen, Penelope, and Prue Clear Polymer Stamps facedown on the image panel. Ink the stamps with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and stamp. Re-ink and stamp again if needed to attain good impressions. 

Remove the image panel from the stamping platform and thoroughly heat set the stamped images.

Brush Merlot Elements Premium Dye Ink under Penelope's feet and between the gaps in the base of the circle "cave". Lightly brush Graphite Elements Ink over the Merlot Elements Premium Dye Ink to deepen the color and ground Penelope.

Brush Merlot Elements Premium Dye Ink under Arwen, Penelope. and the base of the Autumn Mist to create shadows under them. Also brush the Merlot Ink onto some of the larger white splotches on the "sky" background.

Dip a small paint brush into water and apply the water to the inside of Arwen's lantern, the globe of Prue's staff, and to add a line and three dots above the globe. Dab a piece of paper towel onto the water to remove the ink. Use yellow and orange watercolor pens to color the lantern, globe, the "flame" and some sparks.

Punch a 1" hole in a piece of acetate. Position the acetate onto the top center of the image panel. Sponge white ink onto the aperture to create a moon. Heat set the wet ink. Replace the acetate so the circle is enclosing the inked moon. Brush pearlescent white powder on the moon to make it shiny.

Trim the image panel to 5.75" square. Adhere the sentiment stickers as shown. Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink to edge the image panel, then adhere it to a 6" square black card.

A Scenic Card with Lavinia Stamps

Greetings! It's Tuesday and you've got Kathi here with a project created for an "Anything Goes" week. I missed last week's "Outdoors" theme so I decided to create a scenic card with products by Lavinia Stamps. I've used the Acorn Abode Clear Polymer Stamp, the Hanging Lanterns Clear Clear Polymer Stamp, Dana Clear Polymer Stamp, and the Texture 2 Clear Polymer Stamp with six colors of Elements Premium Dye Ink and the ever-so-useful Hills Acetate Mask.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Acorn Abode Clear Polymer Stamp by Lavinia Stamps twice - once on panel of Bristol paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Heat set the image stamped onto the Bristol paper, which will become the image panel. Fussy-cut the sticker-paper version and adhere it atop its counterpart on the image panel.

Place the flatttest mask from the Hills Acetate Mask by Lavinia Stamps just above the rocks so that it's covering the bottom of the image panel. Brush Soft Cygnet Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the top of the Hills Acetate mask and around the masked Acorn Abode. Next brush Lemon Drop Elements Premium Dye Ink onto the image panel blending the ink colors as you go. Continue this process with the Lime Punch, Pine, and Olive Elements Premium Dye Inks working from the center of the image panel outwards. 

Use a water-filled Fine Spray Misters by Spectrum Noir to mist the ink to add some white speckles and splatter. Remove the Hills Acetate Mask and heat set the panel.

Trace the Hills Acetate Mask onto scrap cardstock or thin acetate, cut along the traced line, and place the upper part of the temporary mask to cover the top part of the image panel.

Brush Bermuda Elements Premium Dye Ink over the temporary mask to ground the 

 masked Acorn Abode. Press the Texture 2 Clear Polymer Stamp by Lavinia Stamps onto the Bermuda Elements Premium Dye Inkpad and randomly stamp over the temporary mask and the masked Acorn Abode to add texture and interest.

Remove the temporary mask and the mask from the Acorn Abode. Color the image with Copic markers. Trim the image panel to 4.25" x 6".

Place the image panel onto a stamping platform so that it's against the bottom, but centered horizontally. Place the Hanging Lanterns Clear Clear Polymer Stamp by Lavinia Stamps facedown onto the right side of the panel so that it's a bit over the right edge. Ink the stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and stamp. Remember that you can always re-ink and stamp again if needed to attain a good impression

Clean and dry the stamp. Position the Hanging Lanterns Clear Clear Polymer Stamp facedown in the center of the image panel, but with the end of the stamp slightly above the stamped Hanging Lanterns. Ink the stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Make sure that the image panel didn't move before inking and stamping again. Unlike me. Oops.

Repeat the above with the Hanging Lanterns Clear Clear Polymer Stamp on the left.

Position the Dana Fairy Clear Polymer Stamp by Lavinia Stamps facedown on the image panel so that her feet and hand are on the stem of the Acorn Abode. Ink the stamp with  Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp.

Remove the image panel from the stamping platform and thoroughly heat set it. Use watercolor pens to color the Hanging Lanterns and Dana's wings and lantern. Use glitter markers to add yellow glitter to the circles and black glitter to the dots in the Hanging Lanterns.

Edge the image panel with Bermuda and Pine Elements Premium Dye Inks, then edge again with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink.

Finish by adhering the image panel to an A6 black textured card.

Lindy's Magicals Mermaid Card

Hello, Lisa Hoel here. This week at Topflight Stamps our product focus is on mixed media and using ink/pigment powders. I have been having fun playing with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals Pigment Powders making all sorts of backgrounds using the Enchanted Forest set. I paired them with Lavinia ocean themed stamps to create this dreamy mermaid card.

To make the Magicals backgrounds, I spritzed pieces of mixed media cardstock with water and then sprinkled on tiny bits of the pigment powders. (A little goes a long way, they really pack a punch!) I spritzed on more water and let the powder particles dissolve and flow – letting them air dry naturally. The AALL & Create Starflight die set made a lovely frame for the focal panel and stamping.

Spring Is In The Air!

It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. Our theme this week is "Anything Goes". I'm so happy that Spring is finally beginning to show her colors that I've created a card to celebrate its arrival with Katzelkraft's Meerkats, Funny Accessories, and Water Wall Unmounted Red Rubber Stamps. 

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the dancing meerkat from the Meerkats Unmounted Red Rubber Unmounted Stamp Set by Katzelkraft twice — once onto a piece of Bristol Paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Heat set the Bristol Paper version.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper version and place it over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask. 

Position the umbrella stamp from the Funny Accessories Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp Set by Katzelkraft facedown on the image panel so that its handle is on the Meerkat's hand and the umbrella is over his head. Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp the umbrella twice— once onto a piece of Bristol Paper and once onto repositionable sticker paper. Heat set the Bristol paper version.

Use Copic markers to color the Meerkat and his umbrella. Use a black pen to increase the size of his pupils. Use a white gel pen to add catchlights to his pupils.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the umbrella and place it over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask. 

Use the second largest die from the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by CREAlies to cut the image panel. 

Place the image panel die-cut onto a magnetic craft mat. Position one of the hills masks from the Mini Hills Acrylic Mask/Stencils by Lavinia Stamps so that it's covering the Meerkat's feet and part of his tail. Secure the mask in place with magnets and/or low-tack tape.

Brush two colors of grey/blue Distress Ink over the the Mini Hills Acrylic Mask and the masked images onto the image panel die-cut to add a gloomy sky. Use a water-filled Fine Spray Misters by Spectrum Noir to mist the image panel to add white splats and splatter. Heat set the image panel die-cut.

Trace the Mini Hills Acrylic Mask onto a piece of scrap cardstock. Cut the cardstock along the tracing line to create two temporary masks. Place the top section of the cardstock mask over the sky and the masked Meerkat. Brush two colors of green Distress ink over the paper stencil onto the imamge panel die-cut to create a grassy hill background. Tear a piece of scrap cardstock. Brush the darker green over the torn edge of the cardstock to add shading and shadows below the Meerkat. Retain the two pieces of the traced Mini Hills Acrylic Mask for another use.

Position the image panel die-cut onto the base of a stamping platform. Position the Water Wall Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp by Katzelkraft facedown along the right side of the image panel die-cut. Use Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Water Wall Unmounted Red Rubber Stamp. Remove the image panel die-cut and use Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink to edge it.  Heat set image panel die-cut.

Use a Clear Gloss Glaze gel pen to highlight the grey-stamped waterdrops, the white spots created when the panel was misted, and areas of the grassy hill.

Adhere the image panel die-cut to a black A6 card. Add sentiment stickers to finish the card.
