Halloween Scene “Let your Witch out.”

Hi everyone  MEL PILLING here to bring you some early Halloween inspiration. The star of the show is my sassy, witch by the fabulous, Creative Expressions from the set Smooth Moves.

I kept the background dark, so my witch and pumpkins would show up well.  This simple background was done using torn paper hill masks, and a moon mask.  I used Elements Ink in Graphite , Dark Denim , Violet Chalk and Midnight Blue  applied with a Blending Brush .  I stamped the walking woman onto clean card stock, then drew in a skirt and boots and coloured her with watercolour markers. The hat was done the same way then cut out and  glued onto her head. The bats and pumpkin were from a Tim Holtz set that I’ve had for years. I also drew in some extra pumpkins, the lower pumpkins were masked and stamped to create layers. The broom was glued on after also.  This set featuring Jane Davenport drawings is so versatile.

Darkroom Door Colorful Belated Birthday

Hello crafty friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I have a belated birthday card using the Darkroom Door Overlapping Blocks background stamp. I had so much fun coloring up these overlapping blocks with the Spectrum Noir Watercolor Markers

I stamped the Darkroom Door Overlapping Blocks stamp and white heat embossed it and then colored it up. I had a little space that I apparently didn't emboss well but it ended up to be the perfect sport for the Darkroom Door Birthday Greetings

I added a little dark pencil shading the the sentiment to help it pop on my busy background. Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to play along with us using Darkroom Door!

Craft Emotions - Don't Let Things Bug You

   Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today. This week it's anything goes on the Topflight blog.  I used the old, but still cute set Bugs 2 from Craft Emotions for my card.

I first made my background using Brushos. I used a bit of water and dissolved the Brushos first to just use them as watercolor.  Let it dry. I stamped the dandelion and bugs with Versamark and colored them with water brush markers.  Added some white accents. I dabbed white ink around the dandelion with my finger. Added some Stickles to the dandelion and dragonfly wings. Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and added it.

I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.
See you next week with more Topflight Stamps inspiration.

And here are the stamp supplies I used:

Winter Wonderland

Hello Crafty Friends, Mary Key here today with "anything goes". I decided to create some Christmas cards using Katzelkraft KTZ280 - Winter Wonderland and sentiments from the stamp set along with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder and Lavinia Dinkles Blueberry using watercolor paper.

Here is a winter look card. I first had embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder for the trees and heat with my heat gun. After that, I decided to spritz some water and sprinkle some Lavinia Dinkles Blueberry on my mat.  I then smooshed my watercolor paper onto my mat, heat dry and more smooshing and heat dry again. Once dry, I wiped with a dry paper towel to my trees where it's embossed and added the sentiment. Finished my card using white cardstock.

This is another different way for the next card. I spritz water onto my watercolor paper and then added Lavinia Dinkles - Blueberry. I then spritz some more water onto my watercolor paper, heat dry. Once dry, I stamped Katzelkraft KTZ280 - Winter Wonderland trees with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder and heat. The trees look more white than my other card. I completed my card using the sentiments and added onto whtie cardstock. Here is the final look on my second card.

Thank you for coming by and keep creating!

A Halloween Scene

It's Tuesday which means that you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week is an "Anything Goes" week so I'm getting into the Halloween spirit with a slimline card created with fabulous new stamps by AALL and Create. I've used Janet Klein's Weird Science Clear Stamp Set 950 and the witch from her Bewitchingly Clear Set 950. The background features the fantastic Haunted House from the House of Faces Clear Stamp Set 1053 by Autour de Mwa.

Here it is!

The haunted house from the House of Faces Clear Stamp Set 1053 was positioned towards the top of the image panel, then stamped with Copic friendly ink twice -- once onto an image panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper. The sticker paper was fussy-cut and placed atop its counterpart as a mask.

A circle from the Circle Masks and Stencil Set was positioned over the top part of the house. A piece of torn cardstock was placed horizontally across the image panel. Blue Lagoon and Dark Denim Elements Inks was brushed over the Circle Mask and the top of the torn cardstock.

The torn cardstock was moved downwards and Evergreen Prism Ink was brushed over the top of the torn cardstock. The cardstock was moved downwards and Evergreen Prism Ink was brushed overtop again. This was repeated until the grassy portion of the image panel was mostly inked. Rainforest Green, a lighter green, was brushed over the darker green to add depth.

The images from the Weird Science Clear Stamp Set 950 and the witch from the Bewitchingly Clear Set 950 were stamped with Copic-friendly ink onto white cardstock, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, then edged with a black multiliner. White gel pen was used to add catchlights to the characters' eyes.

The mask over the house was lifted and the house was colored with Copic markers.

The black cat from the House of Faces Clear Stamp Set 1053 was stamped twice with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink

A green chalk pencil was used to add a shadow under the cats and at the base of the image panel.

The background panel was trimmed to 3.25" x 8.25" and edged with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink

The characters were adhered to the base of the background panel as shown. A Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust Clear Glittering Ink Pen was used to add bubbles around the moon and in and around the beaker.

Lost at Sea

Hi  MEL PILLING  here today with a comical couple, trying to find their way home.

I taped off below the horizon using Washi tape, then used a blender brush and did the sun with   Elements Ink in Sundance. The sky was done with Blue Atoll and Blue Lagoon sweeping towards edges to form rays. Additional rays were done with a make up applicator and pan pastels in white and yellow.  I sprayed this area to seal the pastels.   I  moved the Washi tape to above the horizon. The sea was done with a flat paint brush using Elements Ink in Blue Atoll ,  Blue LagoonMermaid , Dark Denim and Midnight Blue . I also used distress Ink in Peacock Feathers.  I used these inks on a pallet like watercolour paints, sweeping side to side, using the edge of the brush, blending the colours into each other .

I masked off the lower section of the elephant prior to stamping.  I stamped my Katzelkraft elephant using Versafine Clair Ink in Nocturne , then drew the dinghy around him. I drew the seagull on his head freehand. All of this was coloured with watercolour pens. Then I fussy cut out the whole piece and glued it onto my project. I always use a black marker to darken the edges before I do this. It makes it look like you cut your piece out perfectly.  I then shadowed the dinghy and highlighted the water with white acrylic paint.

 KATZELKRAFT STAMP USED

I think the elephant captain should trust his friend seagull’s nose.  This lovely set is very easy to create cards or an art journal page.  Topflight Stamps carry many fabulous stamps to create these scenes. You are only limited by your imagination.

You are Amazing - with Matching Envelopes

Hi friends. Alanna here and I have a matching set of 3 cards to share with you today that use minimal supplies. I have also created matching envelopes to go with them.

For each card, I started by stamping the super fun Grunge Flourish stamp from Visible Image into the center of my notecard. I used different colors of inks for each of the cards. I then took one of my favorites, the Bold Enough sentiment stamp set, also from Visible Image, and stamped two of the sentiments from it over top of the previous stamping.

If you have missed my other projects where I used the Bold Enough stamp set, click here.

I rounded off the corners on the right side of the notecards and that finishes these off. Since these are very clean and simple, I decided to give them each matching envelopes. I took the same colors of inks I used on the cards and stamped just a portion of the Grunge Flourish set onto the left corner of the envelope. I think these dress up these clean and simple cards up so nicely and will be an added touch for the recipients.

Find all the products I used on my cards linked below in the Topflight Stamps store.

Crafty Individuals Happy Collie

Happy Friday friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I am playing with the Happy Collie set from Crafty Individuals. I love this pretty stamp and as a Border Collie owner and foster, this stamp was so fun to create some cards with.

For my first card I stamped the Happy Collie and clear heat embossed it. I then did a rough masking of the collie and sprayed the background with Lavinia Acrylic Sprays in Periwinkle and Chartreuse. I loved stamping this collie and clear embossed and fussy cut a second one out. I used a background I had created from leftover scraps and attached the collie to it.

I then stamped and white embossed the Katzelkraft Enjoy Quotes sentiments. I used a black Posca pen to to add a frame to my cards and added each of the names of present and past Border Collies my family has had the wonderful opportunity to love.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Crafty Individuals - Pink Street

 Hi Everyone,

This week we are focusing on Crafty Individuals stamps on the Topflight blog.  I dot inspired by the mood board on the Inkspirational challenge blog. I immediately knew I had to use those wonderful houses from Crafty Individuals.
I first stamped the housed onto card stock and colored them with alcohol inks. I cut them out. Brushed the background with distress oxide inks and added splatters. Then I added the houses. The little house in front I propped up with foam tape.
I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.
See you next week with more Topflight Stamps inspiration.
