Happy New Year - a Katzelkraft Shaker Calendar Card!

It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project created with you. This week my teammates and I are showcasing Katzelkraft's wonderful stamps AND celebrating New Year's. I've made a rather large New Year's shaker calendar card with Katzelkraft'Snakes KTZ315 and the Holiday Quotes KTZ207 Unmounted Stamps Sets.

Here it is!

Here's a close-up of the shaker element!

The curled up snake and the slithering snake from the Snakes KTZ315 Unmounted Stamp Set by Katzelkraft were stamped with with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko. Both snakes were fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a black marker. The slithering snake was set aside.

Clear acetate was adhered to the back of the image covering the center aperture of the curled up snake. Black foam tape was adhered around the aperture to create a well. Sequins were added to the well and a piece of Banana Fresco Finish Acrylic Painted cardstock was used to seal the well. The shaker element was set aside.

Ancient chipboard numbers were painted with ChinaLawn, and Bora Bora Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints by PaperArtsy and set aside.

Low-tack tape was placed horizontally across a piece of 8.25" x 5.25" mixed media cardstock. Della Blue and Blue Atoll were sponged over the tape onto the top part of the cardstock to create a sky. When done, the tape was removed then Pine, and Lime Punch Elements Inks by Lavinia Stamps were sponged across the bottom part of the panel to create a grassy background.

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink was used to stamp the slithering snake onto the background panel.

Clouds were die-cut from white cardstock, colored with Copic markers, and adhered to the top part of the image panel. The painted numbers, shaker snake, the slithering snake, and the calendar were adhered to the image panel.

Warm BreezeBlue Belle, and Green Oasis VersaFine Clair Inks by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko were used to stamp the "Happy New Year" sentiment and heat set. The sentiment was cut apart, trimmed, and adhered to the image panel as shown. Star sequins were added to embellish the sentiment.

The image panel was adhered to a 5.5" x 8.5" black card.
