Celebrate 2019! Happy New Year's Eve!

Hi Everyone and welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog. It's Jenny here, and I have a super simple card for you today to celebrate the impending new year.  Here's to wishing you and all of your families a wonderful 2019!

To create this card, I first cut a panel of Bazzill Prismatic White cardstock to 4" x 5.25".  I stamped the speckled square from the Alexandre Renke Accentuation Areas  in embossing ink and heat embossed in WOW! Platinum Sparkle embossing powder.

Topflight carries a similar set - Accentuation Circles which you can get the same look from.

I then adhered the Celebrate die by Studio Light, cut from a scrap of cardstock I had watercolored a few months ago and adhered it to the centre.

I added a small sentiment stamped in embossing ink on black cardstock and heat embossed in white and adhered with foam tape.  The entire panel was adhered to a white card base.  Super clean and simple!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hippo New Year

Hello Topflight Stamp fan! Ericka here today with a fun New Year card using some Katzelkraft stamps.

As I was putting away my Christmas stamps, I realized that I don't have that many New Year themed sets. Mental note, must do a little more "New Year" stamp shopping soon. haha Anyway, these sets from Katzelkraft are great since the Jungle Animals have so many fun expressions and the Holiday Quotes can be used for all the holiday cards you need.

I chose the hippo for my card, since it looks so happy which is the perfect way to start the New Year.

You Rock!

Hi, everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday!  Although it's the day after Christmas, the celebration isn't over yet.

I've worked up a cute card to celebrate all sorts of special days. Just take a look at this unicorn from AALL and Create Rocking Corns.  Makes you want to air guitar your heart out, doesn't it? LOL.

IndigoBlu | Quick and Simple Heat Embossed Holiday Cards

Hi Everyone and Welcome to the Topflight Stamps Blog - it's Jenny here with a super quick yet effective way to make last minute holiday cards.

The stamp I used is the fantastic Christmas Stag by IndigoBlu. It is a great stamp for coloring, but here I'm using it with some simple heat embossing on patterned paper.

The paper is from the Black, Ivory, Gold and Green pad by Studio Light, which is A6 (just slightly wider than an A2 size card) and so you don't even need to trim it down - just your card base.

I stamped the image in Versamark embossing ink directly onto the centre of a green sheet, and then heat embossed in Brass embossing powder by WOW!  I then distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink to create dimension, and adhered the piece to a white card panel.

I stamped the sentiment in the corner in Versafine Onyx Black ink, which comes from the Frozen Forest Holiday Sentiments by Studio Light.  I then adhered the panel to a white card base.

As a finishing touch, I used Nuvo Drops to 'color' in the ornaments hanging from the stag's antlers.  I used a mix of Nuvo Jewel Drops in Key Lime, Glitter Drops in Emerald City, and Crystal Drops in Bottle Green.

This card was incredibly quick to make (with a little drying time)  - definitely something you can do in an emergency!

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Part of You

Hello Topflight fan! Ericka here today with a simple watercolor card using a stencil and large sentiment from Darkroom Door.

I love this beautiful sentiment and it can be used in the inside of a card as well as the main image. For some of us, the holidays are a reminder of the loved ones we are missing. This sentiment is a perfect reminder for me that although they might not be with us, they will forever be a part of us.

Here is the stencil I used with the liquid watercolors.

I also layered the stencil over Distress Oxides for an interesting background.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas filled with love! For more information on how I created these cards, feel free to pop over to my blog Strangely Creative.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Where the Wild Things Are

Hello, lovely Topflighters! Toni here with you today sharing a fun one-layer card. My card focuses on the large sentiment Darkroom Door Wild Things. I love this sentiment; it's sketchy and ever so true.

I've paired it with the Darkroom Door Arty Triangles Stencil.  My goal was to recreate a simple mudcloth using orange and green to sponge up the triangles.

The dancing Katzelkraft Meerkat that I had masked before sponging the stencil illustrates the point of the sentiment perfectly.  Plus, it's suuuuper cute. Dance, meerkat, dance!

Good morning, Lisa Hoel here with a project to share with you! I wanted to create a project that was more 'winter' themed so I could leave it out after Christmas is over. I think this fits the bill!

This MDF tree kit comes with all sorts of papers and embellishments to use with the tree. I used the cardstock woodland creature embellishments from the kit to add to my scene. The Pine Cones stamp set from Darkroom Door was perfect for adding some needle texture to the tree panels.

You can see some more info and how-to tips for this project in my blog post

Darkroom Door | Clean & Simple Mixed Media

Hi Everyone and welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog.  It's Jenny here, and we are kicking off a week showcasing the awesome Darkroom Door.

My card today uses the Arty Hexagons stencil, and a quote stamp , both by Darkroom Door.

This stamp is totally genius, and SO TRUE - who's with me?!

For my card, I was inspired by the grungy style of the sentiment to go a little mixed media - but as I'm not that into mixed media, I did it in my clean and simple style.  I first ink blended inks in red, orange and golden yellow, dark to light top to bottom, up the stencil on coldpress watercolor paper.  I then die cut out the piece with a stitched rectangle die, keeping the hexagons off to the side.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink directly over the top.  I then replaced the stencil, and selected a few of the hexagons and individually masked them off with mini post-it notes. I then used a palette knife to selectively add gold glitter embossing paste (Tonic Studios Nuvo) in three areas and left it to dry. When dry I adhered it to a kraft note card.

I hope you like it - honestly, I think I should probably frame this one up in my craft room LOL!  Have a great day everyone.

Fun Tags

Hello Topflight Fan! It's Ericka here with some fun tags by Studio Light Art by Marlene.

I love these tags, they are huge so you have tons of space to create. They also come in five fun colors. For the tag above I used the white one with my gel press.

Here is a look at these awesome tags.

I also used several Visible Image Stamps that can be found here.

I made a second tag to see what the paints would look like on  a black tag. I love the results.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Hi, Everyone! Toni here with a bonus card for you this week because why not? :)

I had a blast making this non-traditional holiday card using Katzelkraft Sherlock Holmes. Creating the spooky/not spooky atmosphere as well as the coloring were such fun.  I can totally be like this, especially now that it's winter and dark practically 24-7.  There'd be a cat perched on my shoulder, however!

Tag! You're it!

Hi, Everyone!  Toni here with you today sharing a tag I made using the Studio Light Art by Marlene Large Colorful Tags.  I'm going to hang this on a neighbor's door (hopefully it will stop raining!).

I've never worked with these tags before so it took a bit of experimenting to see what mediums I liked using to color the PaperArtsy JOFY 57 image.  The clear winners were Derwent Inktense Pencils. I tried Prismacolor Colored Pencils which worked really well with the texture of the tag but I'm an impatient gal so the Inktense worked better for me.  I had no problems adding a touch of water to bring out the color even more. And what a dream for blending too.

I finished the tag off by embossing one of the Katzelkraft Holiday Quotes sentiments in a bright red. I also added white pigment pen designs to some of the ornaments and spattered it with snowflakes.
