They're Perfect Together!

Hi there! It's Tuesday so it's Kathi here to share a project with you. Apparently I'm still in a Valentine's Day mood and felt like match-making, so I joined the birdie on  Zinski Zini #28 Cling Mounted Stamp with the birdie on Zinski Zini #29 Cling Mounted Stamp by PaperArtsy. You've got agree that they make a cute couple! I added the hazard sign from the France Papillon #1 Cling Mounted Stamp Set because sometimes love requires caution. 

Here's the card, which works for Valentine's Day and/or an anniversary. 

The bird on the left (Zinski Zini #28) was stamped first onto the image panel, then onto label paper, which was fussy-cut and placed over the image to be used as a mask. Zinski Zini #29 was then stamped onto the image panel, label paper, fussy-cut, and the fussy-cut version was used as a mask. The hazard sign was stamped onto the image panel to complete the scene. Then it too was stamped, fussy-cut, and used as a mask. Gosh. I'm so predictable. 

Once all the images and the bottom part of the image panel were masked, Pink Jellybean Prism* Ink was brushed over the Hearts and Dots Stencil by Alexandra Renke. Sparkly clear embossing powder was sprinkled over top, then heat embossed. You'll note that some of the dots around the hearts were uninked, I decided that was okay because perfection is overrated. 

Periwinkle Prism Ink was brushed over the the image panel. The horizontal mask covering the bottom of the image was removed and grey Distress ink was brushed over the masked image. I went with Distress ink because I wanted to use my Copics to add shadows.

All the masks were lifted and the images were colored with Copic markers. 

Onyx Black VersaFine Ink by Tsukineko was used to stamp the sentiment from the Love Birds #155 Clear Stamp Set by AALL and Create onto the bottom of the image panel.

The image panel was adhered to an A2 card. A frame die-cut was used to finish the card.

*Please note: Prism ink tends to stay wet longer so it's easily blendable AND you can emboss with it. Plus it's inexpensive, so you can have all the colors.

Owl You Need Is Love!

Greetings! It's Tuesday so it's Kathi here with a project to share with you. Seeing that Valentine's Day is rapidly approaching, I decided to create a shaker card with two of the six owls in AALL and Create's Owl You Need is Love Clear Stamp Set #156.

Here's a different photo that shows the shaker contents and the embossed sentiment. Ordinarily, if there were glare issues, I'd pop outside to get better photos. Alas, there's at least a foot of drifting snow that comes clear up to my front door.

I chose two of the lovable owls from the Owl You Need is Love Clear Stamp Set #156 for use on this card. They were stamped with Copic friendly ink, fussy-cut, colored with markers, and edged with a dark marker. 

I created my own background paper by brushing Periwinkle Prism ink over the Hearts and Dots Stencil by Alexandra Renke onto blue cardstock and Dusky Rose Prism Ink onto pink cardstock.

I find that the Black Blending Brushes by Time for Tea Designs are wonderful to use to apply ink over stencils because they get into the smallest areas and don't get shredded by the stencil. They even hold up to metal stencils! 

The blue stenciled cardstock was trimmed to 5.25" square. Premier Blending Tool and 

Premier Ink Blending Sponges by Hunkydory Crafts were used to edge the blue cardstock. I prefer to use sponges for edging. 

A heart die was used to cut an aperture in the blue stenciled cardstock panel. Onyx Black VersaFine Ink by Tsukineko was used to stamp the sentiment onto heat embossable window plastic. The sentiment was heat embossed with Clear Detail embossing powder.

The sentiment window was adhered to the cover the back of the heart-shaped aperture. Two layers of 3-D Adhesive Foam Roll by Hunkydory Crafts were added around the opening, shaker contents were added, and the opening was sealed with the stenciled pink cardstock. The shaker panel was adhered to a 5.5" square blue card.

A branch die-cut was adhered to the card front as shown then the owls were adhered to finish the card.

Steampunk Love Card

 Greetings! It's Tuesday, which means that it's Kathi here to share a project with you! We're celebrating Valentine's Day on the blog this week although the holiday is a month away.

I decided that I wanted to go Steampunk style-wise and to use an unconventional color scheme.

Here's my card that I created with the Mixed Media Steampunk Heart and Feathers Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Studio Light,  the Steam Cogs Stencil #71 by AALL and Create, and the Grid of Hearts Stencil* by Alexandra Renke.

The heart from the Mixed Media Steampunk Heart and Feathers Clear Polymer Stamp Set was stamped onto white cardstock and colored using Copic markers, which were also used to color the background. 

The heart was also stamped onto repositionable label paper and fussy-cut. By coloring the background, I avoided having to fussy-cut around the top of the pen, which would have been a daunting task.

The fussy-cut heart mask was adhered over its counterpart. The Grid of Hearts Stencil* was placed over the image panel and Jersey Cream Prism Ink was brushed onto the top left and bottom right of the image panel using Black Blending Brushes.

The stencil was lifted and Jersey Cream Prism Ink was brushed over the the Steam Cogs Stencil #71 on the top right and bottom left of the image panel.

"Love" and "You & Me" were stenciled with the same ink to add sentiments in a subtle way. 

The image panel was trimmed, edged with Jersey Cream Prism Ink, matted with red cardstock, and adhered to a yellow 5" x 7" card.

Valentine Variations

All Things Grow With Love

Happy Friday! You made it through the week lol. Ericka here with a mixed media card I made using the gel press, distress oxides, the Lavina Background Script, and AALL & Create Heart set.

This card has tons of hearts which is perfect for the great SALE Topflight has going on until tonight!

This was such a fun card to create and I love how well all these sets go together. I also used the Heart stencil by Alexandra Renke with some texture paste as well as the Prism Cherry Pie spray.

Sending Love via Fox Mail!

Hi there! It's Kathi here today. Valentine's Day is rapidly approaching, so it's time to get busy making love-themed cards so that you can get them in the mail to arrive on time. 

That's just what Mr. Fox is doing in my card using the Fox Mail unmounted rubber stamp by Katzelkraft.

The image was stamped, then colored with Copic markers and colored pencils. After coloring, the image was masked, the background was sponged using Periwinkle Prism Ink by Hunkydory. I think that this blue ink is rapidly becoming my favorite blue for sky-ish backgrounds.

The Grid of Hearts Stencil by Alexandra Renke was placed over the masked, inked image panel then Periwinkle Prism Ink was randomly sponged over the stencil.  Pink Jellybean Prism Ink was also sponged randomly. The two inks blended here and there to create a subtle heart-patterned background on the image panel.

Hearts

Happy Friday! I'm at Creativation this week, but I wanted to make a quick card before I left using the Heart Stencil from Alexandra Renke.

I love this stencil and it was so easy to blend the different Distress Oxide shades.

I used the Part of You sentiment from Darkroom Door and finished the card off with some Hunkydory Sparkle Glitter Gems.

Mixed Media Monday Valentine

Hello, Lisa Hoel here and happy Mixed Media Monday! I know Christmas is just a few days away, but on the Topflight Stamps blog we're pretty forward thinking and are taking a look at Valentine's Day projects this week! ;-) 

I started with a sheet of paper I had marbled with hearts and die cut an oval out of the middle of it. Underneath I layered a piece of Neenah metallic paper that I had stenciled and stamped with the JOFY 86 "love" stamp. After putting it all together I doodled and stenciled on the top. A little washi added just the right final touch.
