Gear Up - A Steampunk Card

 It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here today to share a project with you. It's an "Anything Goes" week, so I created a Steampunk card with the Faceless Time Clear Stamp Set 1456, the Papillons Clear Stamp Set 1462, the Frise Pendentifs Clear Stamp Set 1461, and the Time Tinker Clear Stamp Set 1374 as well as the Cog Engine Die Set 125 and the Frayed Frames Die Set 26 — all by AALL and Create. The background panel and die-cuts were created with Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powders by Lindy's Stamp Gang.

Here it is!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the focal image from the Faceless Time Clear Stamps 1456 by Autour de Mwa for AALL and Create onto a panel of Bristol paper. Heat set the ink, then color the image with Copic markers. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to the hourglass.

Use the largest die from the Frayed Frames Die Set 26 by AALL and Create to cut the image panel, mat it with black cardstock, and set it aside.

Cut a piece of 9" x 12" Bristol paper to a 4.75" x 6.75" panel (for the background panel) and a 2" x 12" strip (for the border and sentiment die-cuts). Place the strip onto a craft mat. Use a small spatula to place a pile of Yesteryear Yellow Magical Powder from the Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powder Set by Lindy's Stamp Gang onto the craft mat. Fold a baby wipe and press the top part of it into the pigment powder. Drag the baby wipe vertically onto the strip of Bristol paper to start to a apply the Magical Pigment Powder, working from the outside edges towards the center. Dip the wipe into the powder and apply it again. Continue until the powder pile is gone and your Bristol strip is colored. Clean your craft mat.

Use a spatula to place a smaller pile of Canna Lily Burnt Orange Magical Pigment Powder onto the craft mat. Using a new baby wipe, press the top of the wipe into the pigment powder, then drag the baby wipe down the strip of Bristol paper to fill in the gaps. Continue to dip the wipe and drag it down the strip until the powder is gone. Clean your craft mat.

Repeat the above process using an even smaller amount of Tophat Teal from the the Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powder Set to add some verdigris colors to the Bristol Strip. When the colors and blend please you, thoroughly heat set the panel and trim it in half.

Use the both dies from the Cog Engine Die Set 125 by AALL and Create to cut the colored Bristol paper strip. Flip the die-cuts over and color the back with a black Copic marker or sponge them with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.  This step will edge the die-cuts from the back.

Place the 4.75" x 6.75" panel and a small scrap of Bristol paper onto a clean craft mat. Use a spatula to add a pile of Pocket Watch Pewter Magical Powder onto the clean craft mat. Press the top of a clean baby wipe onto the pigment powder, then drag the baby wipe onto the Bristol paper panel and scrap, working from the outer edges towards the center. Dip the wipe into the powder and continue to apply color to the panels. When done, heat set the panels thoroughly.

Pounce an anti-static tool/pouch onto the background panel then place it onto the base of a stamping platform. Position the corner gears stamp from the Papillons Clear Stamp Set 1462 by Azoline for AALL and Create facedown along the top left of the panel. Ink the stamp with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Remove the panel from the stamping platform, add Clear Gloss Embossing Powder by WOW to the wet ink, dump the excess powder back into the container, and heat set. 

Clean and dry the corner gears stamp. Place the background panel back onto the stamping platform and position the the corner gears stamp from the Papillons Clear Stamp Set 1462 along the lower right hand edge. Position the border gears stamp from the Frise Pendentifs Clear Stamp Set 1461 by Azoline for AALL and Create vertically along the bottom left hand edge. Ink the stamps with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. Remove the panel from the stamping platform, add Clear Gloss Embossing Powder by WOW to the wet ink, dump the excess powder back into the container, and heat set. Edge the background panel with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink.

Use a nameplate cutting die and a small gears die to cut the grey-colored scrap of Bristol paper. Place a piece of low-tack tape on the back of the Bristol paper scrap die-cut to keep it in place and secure the scrap onto the base of a stamping platform. 

Position the "Gear Up" stamp from the Time Tinker Clear Stamp Set 1374 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create facedown onto the die-cut. Ink the stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink and stamp. 

Remove the die-cut piece from the stamping platform. Add Clear Gloss Embossing Powder by WOW to the wet ink, dump the excess powder back into the container, and heat set.

Use the nameplate frame die and a small gears die to cut a leftover scrap from the tinted strip. Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink to edge both parts of the nameplate die-cuts, then adhere the sentiment die-cut onto the frame die-cut. Adhere the gears die-cuts to cover the holes of the nameplate.

Adhere the border die-cut to the right side of the background panel. Adhere the matted image panel onto the background panel as shown. Adhere the sentiment nameplate die-cut to the upper left of the background panel. Adhere the completed background panel to a 5" x 7" black card.

All Geared Up to Celebrate

 Greetings! It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here to share a project with you! This is an "Anything Goes" week, so I decided to try a new technique and to use some of my new stamps! 

Here's a Steampunk-themed card created with the Precision Paws Clear Stamp Set 1373. the Time Tinkerer Clear Stamp Set 1374, and the Steamheart Gears Stencil PC-270 — all by AALL and Create. 

Cut a piece of 9" x 12" Mixed Media paper in half. Place it onto a craft mat. Use a small spatula to place a pile of Yesteryear Yellow Magical Powder from the Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powder Set by Lindy's Stamp Gang onto the craft mat. Fold a baby wipe and press the top part of it into the pigment powder. Drag the baby wipe vertically on the Mixed Media paper, working from the outside edges towards the center. Dip the wipe into the powder and apply it again. Continue until the powder pile is gone. Clean your craft mat.

Place a small pile of Apothecary Azure Magical Powder from the Steampunk Soiree Magical Pigment Powder Set onto the craft mat. Use a clean baby wipe to repeat the process described above. The pigment powders will blend and start to create layers as you work.When the powder is gone, clean your mat.

Place a small pile of Pocket Watch Pewter Magical Powder by Lindy's Stamp Gang onto the craft mat. Use a clean baby wipe to add additional color to your background. When done, clean your craft mat, then heat set the background panel.

Place the Steamheart Gears Stencil PC-270 by AALL and Create over the background panel. Brush or sponge Graphite Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps over the stencil onto the background panel to enhance the background panel.

When done, trim the background panel to 5 5/8" square and edge it with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko. Use stipple brushes to add speckles of yellow, orange, turquoise, and blue chalk ink. Heat set the panel and set it aside. 

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the cat and the dog from the Precision Paws Clear Stamp Set 1373 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create onto white Copic-friendly cardstock. Use the same ink to stamp the Time Tinkerer from the Time Tinkerer Clear Stamp Set 1374 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create onto white cardstock. Fussy-cut all three images, color with Copic markers, and edge with a black marker. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to the Time Tinkerer's eyes. Use a white pencil and add highlights to the cat's eyes (I wanted them to be fainter as his eyes are covered by glasses) and to the watchface. Set the characters aside.

Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the sentiments from the Precision Paws Clear Stamp Set 1373 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create onto the remaining piece of the Mixed Media paper. Add clear detail embossing powder to the wet ink, dump the excess powder back into its container, and heat set the powder. 

Use sentiment strip dies to cut the three sentiments, trim them horizontally, then edge them with the Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink.

Adhere the three sentiments to the reserved 5 5/8" square background panel. Adhere the dog, cat, and the Time Tinkerer atop the sentiments as shown to create the card front.

Cut a piece of copper metallic cardstock to 5.75" square and use it to mat the card front. Use a sentiment die (or alphabet dies) to cut copper metallic cardstock. Adhere the sentiment as shown. Adhere the card front to a 6" square black card.

AALL & Create Garden Scene

Hello!  You've got Colleen here with you today, as we focus on AALL & Create products at Topflight Stamps!  Flowers and butterflies from AALL & Create Gravel Script Ephemera are the stars of the stage on my card.  The background was created with several Lavinia Dye Inks, swiped on a piece of watercolor cardstock, then liberally spritzed with water.  The colors I used are:  Della Blue, Bermuda, Green Parrot, Pixie Green and Olive.  When the piece was dry, I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang Fairy Fluff over it to create a sparkly scene.  The final touch is a sentiment from Lavinia Sentiment Stickers - Uplifting Collection.

IndigoBlu Christmas Card

Hello!  You've got Colleen here for Topflight Stamps - and this week our focus is on the brand, IndigoBlu!  I used their Christmas Dictionary stamp - fabulous background.  Love the old font.  I stamped it in VersaFine Onyx Black on a neutral colored panel, and layered this panel on a red card base.  The focal point is a trio of holly leaf postage stamps from AALL & Create's Carols and Cancellations, carefully trimmed and colored with alcohol markers.  I created garlands with PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Mini 92 stamp, which features sprigs of mistletoe.  I trimmed out the mistletoe from four stamped images, then touched them with various shades of brown inks and added a touch of glimmer from Lindy's Stamp Gang Pixie Dust.

Happy Father's Day

 Greetings! It's Tuesday which means that you have Kathi here to share a project with you! This week's focus is on Indigo Blu and their wonderful products! 

Here's a Father's Day card created with the "Weird Is My Normal" Cling Mounted A6 Stamp Set by Indigo Blu.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Steampunk gentleman from the Weird Is My Normal Cling Mounted A6 Stamp Set by Indigo Blu twice — once onto white Copic-friendly cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color the focal image. Place a strip of Bolted Layers Washi Tape 106 by AALL and Create under the colored image. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Steampunk gentleman and place it over its counterpart on the image panel as a mask.

Place the small rectangle from the Snap Thoughts DI-90 Die Set by AALL and Create blades down on the image panel and secure with low-tack tape. Run the combination through your die-cut machine. 

Remove the image panel die-cut from the cutting die. Brush light grey dye ink over masked image and on a scrap of white cardstock. Use an Isopropyl Alcohol-filled Fine Spray Mister by Spectrum Noir to spray the image panel die-cut. This will add white speckles to the image panel die-cut and will blend the ink but won't pill the paper.

Remove the mask from the Steampunk gentleman. Use a dark grey marker to darken his pupils, then use a white gel pen to add catchlights. Use a fineliner and/or other Copic markers to touch up the image. Cut a piece of black cardstock so that it's slightly larger than the image panel die-cut and use this to mat the image panel. Set aside.

Select a piece of patterned paper from the Ink Drops - Midnight 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad by Craft Consortium Ltd. to use as a background panel. Trim it to 4.25" wide. Use a B39 Copic to edge the panel. 

Place the grey-inked cardstock scrap onto the base of a stamping platform. Place the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment stamp from the Classic Sentiments Clear Stamp Set by Heffy Doodle facedown on the scrap. Use Medieval Blue VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to ink the sentiment stamp. Use a sentiment strip cutting die to cut the sentiment. 

Cut gold metallic cardstock with a Steampunk Corner Cutting Die and a Fancy Sentiment Label Die. Adhere the Steampunk Corner metallic gold die-cuts to the upper corners. Adhere the image panel die-cut as shown. Adhere the stamped sentiment to the Fancy Sentiment Label Die, then adhere them below the image panel die-cut as shown.

Adhere the completed background panel to a white-speckled navy A6 card.

Rise & Shine Coffee Card

It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. It's an "Anything Goes" week. Here's a snarky coffee-themed card created with Crack Me Up Clear Stamp Set 1410, Warm Hugs Die Set DI-102, Radiant Rise 6x6 Stencil PC-257, and Inspire Washi Tape 2. I also used Confetti, Lemon Drop, and Sundance Elements Premium Dye Inks by Lavinia Stamps.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the rooster from the Crack Me Up Clear Stamp Set 1410 by AALL and Create twice — once onto a panel of white Copic-friendly cardstock and once onto repositionable sticker paper. 

Use the coffee mug die (not the Memory Dex die) from the Warm Hugs Die Set DI-102 by AALL and Create to cut the image panel and a scrap of repositionable sticker paper. Fussy-cut the oval coffee contents part of the coffee mug (outlined by dotted lines) sticker paper to create a mask. Position the sticker paper mask on the image panel die-cut.

Color the rooster with Copic markers. Fussy-cut the sticker paper rooster and place him over his counterpart on the image panel die-cut.

Brush or sponge light blue dye ink over the image panel die-cut. Use the same ink to edge the image panel die-cut. 

Remove the mask from the rooster and the interior of the coffee mug. Use Copic markers to color the mug's contents. Use a white chalk pencil to add highlights to the coffee mug image panel die-cut, then set it aside.

Cut a piece of mixed media paper to 6" x 6.75" to create the background panel. Brush or sponge Confetti Elements Premium Dye Ink by Lavinia Stamps onto the bottom ~1.75" of the background panel. Sponge Lemon Drop Elements Premium Dye Ink over the rest of the background panel, blending the ink where the colors meet.

Use magnets or low-tack tape to secure the Radiant Rise 6x6 Stencil PC-257 by AALL and Create to the top of the background panel. Brush Sundance Elements Premium Dye Ink over the stencil onto the background panel to add a tone on tone effect.

Trim the background panel to 4.75" x 6.75". Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to edge the panel.

Add Inspire Washi Tape 2 by AALL and Create horizontally across the bottom part of the background panel as shown. Adhere the image panel die-cut to the background panel so that the base of the coffee mug is sitting on the washi tape. 

Adhere the background panel to a black 5" x 7" card. Add a sticker sentiment to finish the card.
