Gifts Under the Tree

Hey there, crafty friends!  Here in the good old US of A, it's Thanksgiving today, so you know what that means: Christmas is around the corner!  Less than a month away, actually!  Whether you're an early shopper or a last minute gift seeker, it's a time for sharing and caring.  So, I'm here to share my final Topflight Stamps November Guest Designer post for you.

It's a 5x7 art journal page featuring Magenta StampsPaperArtsy Stencils, Darkroom Door Stencils and Craft Emotions Stamps, making a cute Christmas scene.

I started off with a 5x7 piece of watercolor paper, pushing embossing ink through the PaperArtsy Snowflakes Stencil, then shook pearl embossing powder over the whole thing and then heating the powder to melt it.  Then, I painted watercolors in shade of blue over the whole thing, with the embossed areas acting as a resist.

Then I dabbed green paint with a little brown mixed in through the Darkroom Door Christmas Tree Set Stencil to create the Christmas, and when it dried, I traced around it with a thin black pen and dotted the tree with gold paint pen and red 3-D paint.  For a final touch, I glued down a little gold plastic star on the top of the tree.

For the presents, I stamped the Magenta- Presents- Gifts Stamp onto two different Christmas scrapbook papers and cut them out.  Then I cut out one of the presents and glued it onto the other so that there are two different wrapping papers.  Then I colored the ribbons with gold and green paint pens.

I used foam tape on the back of the presents to give then a little dimension when I stuck them next to the Christmas tree.

After I stamped the Craft Emotions Jingle All the Way  Merry Christmas sentiment onto red paper, I fussy cut around it and glued it onto a piece of striped paper that matches the striped package.  I edged the sentiment strip and the entire rest of the piece with gold paint pen.  To make the sentiment pop a bit, I filled in the open spaces on the bottom word with white paint pen.

I hope this project has helped you get in the holiday mood and makes you want to do some holiday crafting of your own.

Thanks for letting me into your crafting lives this month!
