Fun & Games For New Year's

 Hello Topflight Stamp Fans, Karen Bearse here with a December Daily page that is fun & games! The theme this week is New Year's so make sure you check back & see what the team is coming up with.  I am prepping pages for my album and thought I would work on a page for that. Here is my very mixed media looking page. I love that it is prepped just waiting for photos & the story of our New Year's. I am pretty sure I am not alone that 2020 was not the best year & it will be great to see it go. 

The brilliance of this page is there is not a drop of paint on it. If you love that art journal background look but aren't into paint you can still get the effect by using Art By Marlene's Collage papers. There are 2 different packs & they come with 2x10 patterns. It is printed on light weight paper which is perfect for collage. 

In my opinion every mixed media page needs some stamping . We tend to board game with the family on New Year's Eve & AALL & Create have the perfect sets for that theme. I used Edison Game #142 for both the back ground & some of the white cut out images. 

Next up was a set that has this lovely unique chess set incorporated into it. Even though we don't normally play chess it is the theme of game that counts! I love the layers on these stamps. Chess Art #115 has subtle stitching in the background, along with different styled words & numbers, so fun.  

For the title, this wonderful alphabet set by Tracy Evans was used. Grungy Alphabet #397 is exactly as it's title suggests & is perfect for a mixed media page.  

To give my title that wow factor it was stamped with ink & embossed with Seth Apter's Aegean Sea Emboss Powder. I also used Prism Inks with the powder to create a dynamic embossed look. While trying to decide what color to use I created this swatch sheet. This helps me see at a glance what the color combo results are. The top stamp is with the embossing, below that is just the ink with the name of the color underneath. Seth's Baked Velvet are translucent which changes the colors of the inks used underneath. So fun!

Coffee Themed Christmas Gift

 Hello Topflight Stamp Fans, Karen Bearse here today with an awesome idea for Coffee Themed Christmas gifts!! It is only November but as we know time moves quickly around the holidays & wouldn't it be nice to get ahead of the gift giving season? 

With that in mind my project is a Gift Card Box. The base is an Eileen Hull die cut called Post Box. As always I have a full tutorial with step out pics on my blog. 

This gift box has a pull tab that allows the recipient to get a fun reveal! The beauty of this project is the versatility. Simply change up the paper &/or theme for any holiday that needs gift giving.

Of course a coffee gift box needs a fabulous stamp & this Darkroom Door stamp is perfect as it combines background, quotes & coffee images. 

As my project is also Christmas themed this Merry Mail stamp set has all kinds of fun images for multiple project potential. Don't you love when your stamps can be used over & over? 

Of course we are going to need some ink! I used Thundercloud, Red Brick & Ocean Spray. Prism has so many colors it is easy to match the ink to your project. Dream MDF Sign for Topflight Stamps

Hello Topflight Fans!! Karen Bearse here with a fabulous altered piece called Dream. For a full tutorial including links to all the products, head over to my blog here.

I had so much fun designing this project. It really gives the opportunity to make some great home decor. The sky is the limit.
 

 
This is what my sign looked like to start. It is made with MDF or medium-density fiber board, & made by Debbi Moore. You can find all kinds of signs & quotes to play with. I went with a beachy theme cause I frikkin love the beach!!! 

PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints & Crackle Glaze was used for this project. The base coat is South Pacific, followed by the Crackle, then Aqua Duck Egg, (love the names) '& finally Blueberry. 

For the embossing Eileen Hull has these nummy chunky powders in Golden Rod, Aqua Splash & Seth Apter's in Dirty Sand were the perfect beachy additions all made by Emerald Creek. 

While adding the details some Diamond Sparkle was definitely called for!  A few Beautiful Blues & Vintage Browns were placed among sequins, glass bead gel along with some charms.

Coffee Card and Blog hop!

 I got to play with Christmas Trees & Snowman by Katzelkraft. I especially love the versatility of the Christmas Tree stamp. Using pieces of the stamp changes the way it looks completely.
