Making Fall Paperclip Embellishments

Hello Fans of Topflight Stamps, Karen Bearse here on Mixed Media Monday. This week is all about fall for the design team on the eve of September! I really wanted to make these very usable decorated paper clips so I went with fall colors. Any stamp can be made to look like fall just by your color choice. 

These embellishments can be used in your planner, Junk Journal or just a nice way to clip some papers together. These Carabelle Studio stamps make this project really easy. Love that bee!

The Great Outdoors has some wonderful images to play with. I also got the lady stamp from the Fantasy set.

Using your Prism Ink pads to create a water color look works well & so many color choices! I used Peacock Green, Fire Coral, Cinnamon Swirl & Roasted Coffee. You could also pull out a water color palette.

Covering with Glistening Glass emboss is a great way to seal & protect these embellishments. I hope you get a chance to make some of these fun additions to your stash. The possibilities are endless!  I like prepping my journal pages ahead of time. That gives me some color & images to add interest making journaling more fun. 

Let's start with Fresco Finish Paint. Love this quick dry matt finish paint. You can write on it as soon as it is dry. I love this stencil too, small but great image. 

 Infusions Powders make great backgrounds. Just sprinkle & add water for vibrant color.

Christmas Tag Using Eileen Hull Mitten

Hello Topflight Stamps Fans, Karen Bearse here to start Christmas in July this week on the blog. I have a full tutorial on how to make an oh so cute tag using just a few layers of mix media magic.

This awesome diecut is a steal rule die by Eileen Hull called Mitten Box. You can actually make a 3D treat box out of it. I chose to just use the main diecut and make a tag out of matboard. This can be used as a mini album, an ornament, part of a card... the list is endless.

Let's talk products. I started with paint using Fresco Finish. You can change up the colors to make this more Christmas colors, or fall or even spring!

Next up was adding the awesome Background stamp by darkroom door. Some emboss was also used to add that great dimension that I just love!

Have you tried using this Wow embossing liquid? It is great for the heavier, chunky embossing powders. I like to put a bit on my craft sheet & apply to a stamp with a dabber or foam piece. 

Stamps used are a quote from the fabulous Christmas Sentiment stamp by darkroom door. These Sentiment stamps can be used in so many ways. As a background stamp all together, as a quote in the label stamp as I have done, as single quote cut out... so versatile.

Also used was the Lots of Labels.

Of course the focal image is too fun. Just one of these goofy, mad looking owls. Love this set! 

I used a different Santa hat but here is a similar one.  Love that curly cue hat too. If you put Santa hat in the search engine you get a few different choices.

The hat was colored using alcohol inks like the ones by Prism- love how bold the color is.

Mixed Media Monday with Gwen LaFleur Products

Good morning, Lisa Hoel here! I still have a few Creativation projects I haven't shared yet on the blog. One of the really fun parts of the show is getting to take workshops with awesome designers from the industry. I was fortunate enough to take a class taught by Gwen LaFleur and created this fab collage project!

We learned several collage techniques and made a glorious mess with Fresco Paint, stencils, ink and stamping! Gwen's new embossing powders from Emerald Creek added some lovely finishing touches.

Craftiness is Happiness

Happy Friday Topflight Fans! Ericka here and today I have something a little different. I've been playing with this MDF Life Quote from Debbie Moore.

I must admit that when I first got this I wasn't sure what to do with it. As a card maker, it was a little intimidating to figure out where to start and how to make these beautiful words unique. In the end I decided to add paint and embossing powder for color.

I love how this came out and it was so easy to use the PaperArtsy paint. I used Summer Sky and Twilight for an ombre look to my MDF.

Once my paint was dry, I added some fun embossing powders to give the piece some sparkle and shine. After all, glitter and shine is important to happiness!

Ombre Art Journal Page with Topflight Stamps

Sunflower Power Embossing

Hello everyone and happy Thursday! Ericka here with a little something different than my usual card. Today I'm experimenting with a bunch of products to make a colorful board for my craft room.

I used the AALL & Create - #77 - Sunflower Power stencil to create a picture using alcohol ink and embossing paste and powder. I love how large this stencil is and that it was big enough to cover most of my 8x10 Ranger Alcohol Ink Hard Core Art Panel.

I used embossing paste with the stencil and then played around with some alcohol ink until I got a look I liked.

I then decided to play a little more and added some Ranger Emboss Dauber and Emerald Creek Embossing Powder in Kiss of the Fairy, Midnight Magic, and Patina Oxide to the project. I love the shine and texture it gave the board.

I had a couple of spare embellishments in my stash that I also added embossing powder to and attached them to the board with glue.

To finish the project I used a sentiment from Visible Image Express Yourself as well as some ribbon in my stash.
