A PaperArtsy Mixed Media Card

 It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you! This week's focus is on PaperArtsy's fabulous products.

Here's a mixed media card created with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints, Ink and the Dog Mini Stamps, and the LPC033 Cling Rubber Stamp Set by Lynne Perrella — all by PaperArtsy.

I've wanted to create a master board for a long time and decided it was the right time to do so. Visit Leandra Franich's You Tube to watch three videos that do a much better job of describing how I created the painted part of my background. 

Add a penny-sized drop of  Irish Cream Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint by PaperArtsy to a craft mat. Buff Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint is a good substitute. Use the 2" Brayer by Speedball to spread the paint onto the craft mat which also will equally apply the paint to the brayer. 

Gently roll the paint-filled brayer onto a full 9" x 12" sheet of Mixed Media paper until the paint on the brayer is gone . Roll the brayer into the paint on the craft mat to re-load the brayer, then roll the brayer onto the panel again. Repeat this process until the paint on the craft mat is dry. The paint on the background panel will be dry as well.

Apply a penny-sized drop of Caramel Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint to the craft mat, then repeat the process described above. 

Continue this paint application process using Irish Cream, Mermaid, BoraBora, Blah Mange, Prawn Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints until the panel is painted you're happy with the results. You can use Buff or Snowflake Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints to mute the colors if desired. 

If your background is a bit uneven, as mine was, use a Sanding Block by PaperArtsy to sand it until it is smooth. Be sure to remove the paint dust when done. I find that a Swiffer duster works really well.

Use brown Archival ink to stamp the Ink and the Dog Mini 124, Mini 126, Mini 129, and the Mini 132  Cling Mounted Rubber Stamps onto the background. Use the same ink to stamp the key stamp from the LPC033 Cling Rubber Stamp Set onto the background as well. 

Here's a photo of my stamped "master board".

Paint a small piece of Mixed Media paper with Buff and Caramel  Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints. Use black Archival ink stamp the Ink and the Dog Mini 115 Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp by PaperArtsy onto the painted paper. Use a small rectangle die to cut the painted paper. Edge the die-cut with turquoise and aqua archival chalk inks. Stipple pink archival chalk inks over the the panel as well. Heat set the panel to dry the ink thoroughly.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Ink and the Dog Mini 115 Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp again onto white Copic-friendly cardstock. Fussy-cut the cardstock version and color it with Copic markers. Edge the colored butterfly with black cardstock and adhere it over its counterpart on the painted inked die-cut.

Cut the master board in half. Use the largest die from the Quirky Post Die Set 87 by AALL and Create to cut one half of the masterboard. Use the turquoise and aqua inks to edge the die-cut.

Cut a piece of aqua/turquoisish cardstock to the same size as the die-cut and use to mat the die-cut. Adhere the matted die-cut to a kraft/tan A6 card. In hindsight, I should have matted the image panel die-cut onto a turqoise/aqua A6 card. Alas.

AALL&Create - What the Quack?

  Hi Everyone,

Cornelia here today. This week it's anything goes at the Topflight blog. And since we had kind of rainy weather I let myself be inspired by that.

I brayered the background. Stamped the ducks on it. Stamped them again onto white paper, colored them with alcohol ink markers and cut them out. Took a dark grey marker and went around the edges, to get rid of that white cut side. Not much work, but looks a lot better that way. Glued the ducks onto the stamped on on the card. Added the sentiment. Took some distress inks in matching colors and sponged around the edges.

Charmaine here with a card made with a gel press, PaperArtsy paint, and a gorgeous stencil. 

Here are the products I used available at TopFlight Stamps:

Gel Press - Reusable Gel Printing Plate - 5 x 7 Rectangle Gel Plate

PaperArtsy - Fresco Chalk Paint - Orchid

Lavinia - Stencil - Dynamic

AALL & Create - Clear Stamp Set - #348 - A6 - Insect Wings - Janet Klein

Start by applying paint directly onto the gel plate using a brayer. Place the stencil over the plate and use copy paper to remove the excess paint through the stencil. You can do this with a baby wipe as well.

With the stencil still on the plate, apply a contrasting color over the stencil. Remove stencil and let dry.

Pull the print by applying another solid layer over the impression.

Match the stencil to the impression/pulled print and add dimension by applying paste or modeling paste over it through the stencil.

White heat emboss one set of the wings on vellum, then another silver wings on white cardstock. 

Adhere the wings by offsetting them a bit to create the illusion of movement. 

White heat emboss the sentiment on black card stock and mount these to the print. I added a framed die-cut to the center to draw the viewer's eye to the center.

Happy New Year with Drinky

Welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog. It's Donna and I'm back again today with an easy New Years Card. I created the background using PaperArtsy Fresco Paints and my favorite brayer. I stamped the Katzelkraft cat named Drinky in black ink and colored him in with Copics. I used half the sentiment from a PaperArtsy Stamp set to get the Happy New Year. After I stamped the sentiment I colored in the HAPPY with a white gel pin and stamped back over it with the black ink to add back any lines I covered up with the white. 

Finally, I stamped Drinky on top of the sentiment. Then fussy cut the colored Drinky and adhered him to the card with Hunkydory foam squares. To finish it off I added a few pink rhinestones from the Hunkydory Pretty Pinks Diamond Sparkles set.
