Vintage Santa

Happy Thursday!  It's Colleen here with you again, sharing some Topflight Stamps goodness!  I am still trying to build my stash of Christmas cards for this year. I used a versatile stamp set for some 'wow' factor: Creative Expressions Tis The Season. This set has several beautiful images as well as sentiments.  I chose the Santa face to prominently display on my card.  Versafine Onyx Black Ink gave good coverage for all of the fine details on his face, beard and hat.  I fussy-cut the image and lightly distressed the edges with a brown ink, adding a touch of green for the holly leaves and one small red rhinestone as a holly berry.  In my stash, I found a red glitter paper to place behind Santa; so festive!

I stamped a sentiment from Creative Expressions Joyful Wishes on a little banner, and then mounted it, and Santa, on some burlap.  Love the unexpected pairing of glitzy with rustic!

Walk This Way Card

Greetings! You've got Kathi here today to share a project with you. "Anything Goes" is our theme this week. I took my inspiration from two of the kooky birds and the "Walk this way" sentiment from the Kate Crane 009 Rubber Cling Rubber Stamp Set by PaperArtsy, which made think of the song by Run DMC/Aerosmith and the Ministry of Silly Walks Skit by Monty Python.

Here's my slimline card.

Use magnets to secure a 9" x 4" panel of white cardstock to the base of a large stamping platform. Place the crowned walking bird stamp from the Kate Crane 009 Rubber Cling Rubber Stamp Set by PaperArtsy facedown on the platform so that his outstretched foot is at the 8.5" mark on the platform and his other foot is about .5" from the base of the platform. Ink the stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and stamp.

Keeping the cardstock flush against the base of the platform, slide the cardstock panel ~2.125" to the right and secure the panel in place with magnets. Ink the stamp again with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamp.

Repeat the steps above to stamp the bird a third time. Remove the panel from the stamping platform.

Stamp the bird another three times onto repositionable sticker paper, fussy-cut the birds, and set them aside.

Color the three birds with Copic markers. Use light Copic markers to add outlines around the images. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to the birds' eyes.

Place the fussy-cut repositionable sticker paper birds atop their counterparts as masks. Add a piece of repositionable tape across the bottom of the image panel.

Sponge or brush light blue dye ink over the masked images and tape to add a background color to the image panel.

Move the repositionable tape so that its bottom edge is on the blue line and the tape is covering the bottom part of the image panel.

Sponge or brush grey dye ink over the masked images to ground the image.

"Do as I write, not as I did" and keep the masks over the images. Using the same light blue dye ink, randomly stamp notes from the Music Notes Small Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Lavinia Stamps onto the image panel.

Lift the masks and trim the image panel to 8.25" x 3.25". Use the light blue ink to edge the panel.

Pounce an anti-static pouch onto black cardstock. Use embossing ink to stamp the "walk this way" sentiment two times onto black cardstock. Add white detail embossing powder, dump the excess back into the container, and heat set the sentiments. Use small rectangle or flag dies to cut the sentiment.

Adhere the image panel to a slimline black card. Add the sentiment die-cuts to finish the card.

I really love the designs of Lavinia stamps and the ability to build a scene. I also used some PaperArtsy Infusions Dye powder (Slime and Emerald Isle) to create the background I stamped on. I love the intense colors and organic feel of the ink crystals reacting to water.

Lucky To Know You

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  It's Colleen here with you, sharing some fun things from the Topflight Stamps store.  I used green ink and a Lavinia stencil called Laurel to make a leafy, verdant background.  The sentiment from Crafter's Companion "Fabulous Fuchsia - Loving Thoughts" stamp set is perfect for this holiday, too.  It says: "I'm so lucky to have a friend like you."  So sweet!  I mounted it on a couple of layers of green cardstock, then set it atop a strip of rosette ribbon I had in my stash.

A Grungy Robot Card with Heart

Hello, friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here, and today, I'm diving into some robotic fun with the Better Together stamp set from Creative Expressions! These quirky little robots, designed by Andy Skinner, have the most delightful expressions—I just couldn't resist bringing them to life on a card.

The Unexpected Background

Have you ever had a craft experiment go totally wrong… only to realize later that it might just be perfect? That’s exactly what happened with today’s project! While playing around with my gel press and cornstarch, I created a print that, at first glance, felt too grungy and chaotic. But when I pulled out these little robots, something clicked—their industrial charm was the perfect match for my textured, imperfect background!

A Change of Plans

Originally, I planned to white heat emboss the robots directly onto my background. However, with so much detail in these stamps, the embossing just wasn’t working the way I envisioned. Instead, I decided to pivot—I stamped them separately onto a crisp white cardstock using Versafine Clair ink, fussy-cut them out, and adhered them to my background.

And let me tell you… instant contrast magic! ✨ The white robots with their adorable details popped beautifully against my busy, grungy background. And of course, I had to add a tiny red heart to make everything come together. 🩷

Final Touches & A Special Sale!

I love how this card turned out—it’s got that perfect blend of industrial meets cute! Sometimes, the best projects happen when we let go of expectations and embrace the process. Have you ever had a crafting "oops" turn into a "YES!" moment? Let me know in the comments!

Also, don’t forget to check out the sale happening right now—it's the perfect time to grab some of these fun stamps for your own creative adventures!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy crafting! 🎨✨

Katzelkraft Cat

Hello!  It's Thursday, my day to share a Topflight Stamps Anything Goes creation with you!  I made a funny thank you card featuring a kitty with attitude (cattitude).  He is Ignace from Katzelkraft.  I love his expression! I stamped him twice: once on a mottled background, and once on a piece of white cardstock.  After fussy-cutting his body, and coloring it, I added him on top of the stamped image.  The sentiment is from Hobby Art Ltd 'Hydrangea' stamp set.  Along the bottom of the card, I added a strip of bricks from Craft Consortium Brick Textures paper pad.  A couple strips of ribbon topped it off.

There are 10 Fat Cats from Katzelkraft, if you want to take a peek at the cuties, each with their own personality.
