Chou & Flowers Stenciled Cards

Hello, Lisa Hoel here! This week at Topflight Stamps our brand focus is on Chou & Flowers. (Plus there is a sale for the Christmas/Winter category that is still running through the end of the month!) I created a card set using the Flowers stencil from them. I used both regular and crackle texture paste through the stencil, then sprinkled the wet paste with WOW! embossing powder from the Sara Naumann Twinkly Fizz set. When the paste was dry, I heat embossed it. I love the sparkle!

Warm Winter Wishes Card for Christmas in July

It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here today to share a project with you! This week the team is showcasing Chou et Flowers' wonderful products. But before I get to this week's project, I'd like to remind you that all products from the Winter/Christmas Category are on sale until 11:59 EDT on 7/31/25!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Winter Girl Clear Stamp by Chou et Flowers onto white cardstock. Color the image and background panel with Copic markers. Use a white gel pen to add reflections to the snowglobe. Use Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust Clear Glittering Ink Gel Pen by Sakura to add glittery highlights to the stamped orbs around the image.

Cut blue/green plaid patterned paper from A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions with the second largest die from the Roadway Vistas Die Set 78 by AALL and Create. Use the second largest die from the Roadway Vistas Die Set 78 by AALL and Create to cut a window in the die-cut. Position the patterned paper window within the frame. Center a text frame die, cutting-side down, on the the window and secure with low-tack tape. Run the window/die combination through the die-cut machine to cut a text window.

Adhere the image panel behind the window in the die-cut so that there's a plaid frame around it.

Use Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the "Warm Winter Wishes" sentiment from the Holiday Fox Clear Stamp Set by Janet Klein for AALL and Create onto the text frame die-cut.

Adhere the framed image panel to a green card. Adhere the sentiment to finish the card.

Feathered Friends & Magical Colors: A Mixed Media Watercolor Adventure

Happy Friday, crafty friends!
Ericka here from Strangely Creative, and today I’m excited to share a pair of whimsical bird cards that combine some of my favorite things—watercolor play, stamping, and a touch of texture magic!

These cards were inspired by the beautifully detailed birds from PaperArtsy Sara Naumann Set 64 and 41. I’ve had this stamp set in my stash for a while and thought it would pair perfectly with the vibrant colors of Lindy’s Gang Magicals (think Brushos, but with extra shimmer and personality!).

 💧 Watercoloring with Magicals
I started by sprinkling the magical powder pigments onto watercolor paper and activating them with water. Watching the colors bloom and blend is half the fun—no two pieces ever turn out the same, which makes it perfect for background play or creating focal panels.

🖋 Stamping & Details
Once the watercolor was completely dry, I added some handwriting in the background. I then stamped the bird images in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink for crisp, rich detail. I love how the bold ink contrasts with the soft, dreamy watercolor underneath.

📎 Finishing Touches
To add some artsy flair and texture, I pulled out some AALL & Create washi tape—these patterns always bring such a quirky charm to mixed media projects. I also ran the edges through my sewing machine for a hint of stitched texture and movement. Finally, I sketched hand-drawn frames around each card to tie everything together and give them that finished look.

These cards are simple in design but rich in detail—and most importantly, they were so much fun to make.

🕊️ Whether you’re a seasoned mixed media artist or just dipping your toes into watercolor and stamping, I hope these sweet bird cards inspire you to get inky this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a creative and colorful day!

Sent with Love Rose Card

Greetings! You've got Kathi here to share a project with you. It's an "Anything Goes" week over at Topflight Stamps, but before I get to my new post, I'd like to remind you about the Christmas/Winter Sale which runs until July 31st!

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the large rose from the Sent With Love Clear Stamp Set 831 by Tracy Evans for AALL and Create twice — once onto a white cardstock panel and once onto repositionable sticker paper.

Use Copic markers to color the rose and the leaves. Outline the rose, stem, and leaves with a yellow marker.

Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the rose, leaves, and stem and place them over their counterparts on the image panel.

Sponge or brush yellow dye ink over the masked images to color the background of the image panel.

Cut the image panel with one of the dies from the Crea-Nest-Lies XXL Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set by CREA-lies, being sure to reserve the off-cut for the sentiment. Use the yellow dye ink to edge the image panel die-cut.

Use Cheerful VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the rose verse sentiment and the word "rose" from the Sent With Love Clear Stamp Set 831 onto the image panel using first and second generation stamping.

Use Strawberry VersaFine Clair Inks by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the "Sent with Love" sentiment from the Sent With Love Clear Stamp Set 831 onto the reserved yellow-dye inked cardstock. Cut the sentiment with a text frame die, edge with yellow dye ink, and set aside.

Sponge or brush yellow dye ink over the red/white gingham patterned paper from the A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions to color coordinate the patterned paper with the card. Trim the inked patterned paper to 4¾" x 6¾" then edge it with a red copic marker.

Adhere the inked gingham patterned paper to a 5" x 7" card. Adhere the image panel die-cut to the card front. Finish the card by adhering the sentiment text strip die-cut as shown.

✨ Christmas in July: A Mixed Media Nutcracker Card with Festive Flair! 🎄

Hello crafty friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here, and I’m diving into the holiday spirit with a fun and festive Christmas in July card! 🎅🏼✨ Whether you’re someone who likes to plan ahead or you just need an excuse to use some sparkle and shine, now is the perfect time to start crafting your Christmas cards.

💥 P.S. Don’t forget to check out the Christmas in July SALE happening now—it’s the perfect time to grab some goodies to fuel your holiday creativity! 🎁

For this card, I went with a bold gel press print background, one of my favorite ways to start any mixed media project. The layers and texture add instant interest and make your card feel like a mini piece of holiday art.

I stamped the whimsical PaperArtsy JOFY Mini 01 stamp directly onto the background, along with the sentiment and stars from JOFY 117, and gave them a little extra pop with gold heat embossing. Because who doesn’t love a little shine for the holidays.

💂🏻 The Star of the Show: The Nutcracker

On a separate piece of watercolor paper, I stamped this charming nutcracker image and brought him to life with watercolors in classic holiday tones. Once he was dry, I fussy cut him out and added him to the background for a dimensional touch. He’s regal, festive, and just a bit quirky, just how I like my holiday icons!

To wrap up the card, I hand-drew a simple frame to ground the design and added some light shading around the embossed stars. It’s amazing how small details like these can bring your whole piece together.

🎁 Feeling Inspired?

This card is a great reminder that Christmas crafting doesn’t have to wait until December. Pull out your stamps, your gel plate, and a little gold embossing powder and let your creativity snowball!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this gives you some holiday inspiration and the nudge you need to start your own Christmas creations early. ❄️

Wishing you a joyful (and creative!) weekend ahead!

xo,
Ericka
