Autumn!

We would like to welcome Kathi Rerek as our October Guest Designer! You can find her at her blog, Kat's Tales of Stamping.

And here is a little bit about her:

I'm a native New Yorker living in New Jersey with my husband, daughter, and two gorgeous cats. I started  papercrafting on June 27, 2000 and stamping sometime in July 2001. My style is "layered clean eclectic” with themes that range from edgy to cute, industrial grunge to elegant depending on my ever-varying moods. Experimenting with different media and techniques makes me truly happy.

Kathi has two wonderful cards to share with us today. I'll turn the post over to her:

Hi there! It's Kathi here with my first post as a Guest Designer for Topflight Stamps. I was so excited that I made two fall themed cards that both feature Lavinia Stamps!

Here's my Green Man card!

Using Pinecone and Acorn VersaFine Clair ink, I stamped Lavinia Stamps' Small Green Man onto watercolor paper and heat set. Several Distress inks were brushed from both sides into the center. When I was happy with the coverage, I heat set the image. Marvy markers were used to add color and detail to the image. The image panel was embossed with the Brick/Wood Embossabilities embossing folder. The word, Autumn, was die-cut from the top of the image panel, then inlaid as shown. The piece was edged with Distress ink, matted with green cardstock, and adhere to an A6 brown card.

Here's my second card with the Hop Skip Jump and Oak Leaf Branch stamps.

Hop Skip Jump was stamped on white cardstock and onto masking paper using Memento ink. The mask was adhered over its counterpart and blue, pink, and green inks Memento inks were sponged over the masked image onto the cardstock to create a background. The next step was to stamp the Oak Leaf Branch in green ink to the top right hand corner. The images were colored with Copic markers and some leaves were added to the grass. Details were added with a fine tip brown pen and a white gel pen. Brown cardstock was die-cut and adhered over the image panel. The card front was then adhered to a brown A2 card.

If you'd like to read more about these cards, I have more complete excruciatingly detailed instructions on my blog, Kat's Tales of Stamping.
