Stars & Stripes Gel Press

I hope you all had a happy 4th of July! Ericka with Strangely Creative here and today I'm celebrating with the Visible Image Stars & Stripes stencil along with my gel press and PaperArtsy Fresco Paint.

I started by putting a small amount of PaperArtsy Fresco paint in Twilight and Toffee Apple on my gel plate. I placed my stencil on the gel plate and lifted off the ink. I then removed the stencil and placed another piece of paper on the gel plate to lift off my print.

I then stamped Studio Light Basic Wishes sentiment in Versafine Clair Twilight ink and clear embossed it. I finished my card by tracing around the stars with my white gel pen to add a little more definition.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to take advantage of the last day of the sale.

Darkroom Door 4th of July Shaker Card

Hello stampers!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a festive 4th of July shaker card made with fabulous stamps by Darkroom Door, available at Topflight Stamps.  For this card, I started by embossing the Pinstripe background stamp in white and brushing on Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink onto the misted panel.  Next, I embossed the new Brave & Free quote stamp and Sketchy Stars eclectic stamp in white and colored the sentiment with Chipped Sapphire and the stars with Barn Door.  I love the Darkroom Door quote stamp collection and love to cut my sentiments apart and rearrange them for new phrases.  That makes the most of each purchase and we all want to do that, right?!  I layered the fussy cut elements over a shaker panel I made with stacked star die cuts.  I used the same dies to cut two pieces of white fun foam to build up the star layers in the shaker and some upcycled die cut packaging for the acetate.  I hope this card makes you smile as you celebrate this 4th of July and you will try some of these ideas yourself.  Hugs, Autumn

Here is last year's 4th of July card I made with Darkroom Door stamps: Sketched Leaves and Garden Birds mixed with the Sketchy Stars.  Such fun!  Posted HERE.

Let Freedom Sing 4th of July Card

Hello everyone and happy Independence Day weekend!  It's Autumn Clark with you to share a little holiday inspiration featuring some gorgeous stamps by Darkroom Door, available in the Topflight Stamps shop.  This weekend we are having a super sale with 20% off orders of $30 or more and always free shipping with an order above $75.

This idea just popped in my head and I was happy to see it become a reality.  I embossed the Garden Birds and Fine Leaves in white onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper, then colored with Prism Brush Markers and a water brush.  I've tried several papers to see which works best with these markers and this is by far my favorite.  It doesn't wad up as you add more and more layers of watercolor and it is nice and thick so that your fussy cuts don't flop about when you layer.

I hand wrote my sentiment using the Wow! Embossing Pen, embossed it in white and colored over it with markers, blending with the water brush.  Even not so great handwritting works with this card because of the sketchy imagery.

Next, I embossed the Sketch Stars on my card panel and then spritzed with water and began to puddle Distress Inks in the center, letting the colors bleed out to the edges, dabbing and spritzing as I went.  I really like this effect.  And here's my tweet little 4th of July card!  I hope it makes you smile and want to get stamping.  Happy 4th friends, Autumn

Now for Steph's first blog post.

My name is Steph Ackerman and I'm excited to share my first post with you with some amazing stamps from the Topflight Stamps store.   Today is July 4th and that means parties!!!!!!  So I decided to use two stamps from  Carabelle Studio.  These wonderful stamps are from France!

I stamped a bunch of American Flag stamps in the traditional red, white and blue then fussy cut them so I could use them on the front of goodie bags.

Next, I used the Textured Stars stamp to create the background on my goodie bags, randomly stamping them about the bags.

I placed the flags on the front of the bags with foam adhesives for dimension, then tied the bags with Whisker Graphics twine.

I think the kids will love them, don't you?

Thanks for stopping by and please pop by my blog for more crafty inspiration.

See you next Tuesday.

Steph
