Seashell by the Seashore

Hello friends!  You've got Colleen here today - this week at Topflight Stamps our theme is  Beach / Ocean!  I used several items to create a moody ocean themed card.  On a couple of pieces of watercolor paper scraps, I sprinkled PaperArtsy Infusions Dye Sleight Blue powder then spritzed with water liberally.  Once dry, I used Studio Light Scenery Borders Waves die set to cut out some waves. I set those aside and used the PaperArtsy Sara Naumann Mini 118 seashell stamp to create a focal point on ivory cardstock, stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.  On the card base, I used a PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Summer Edition sentiment stamp and Lavinia Dye Ink Soft Cygnet, stamped repeatedly across the background.  Final touches were some enamel dots from my stash, and Hunkydory Classic Pearls.

Hope you have a wonderful week! ~ Colleen

Below are the watercolor paper scraps I created with the PaperArtsy Infusions Dye in Sleight Blue.  Aren't they beautiful as-is?

Framed Lemon Flowers - Chou & Flowers

Hello!  You've got Colleen here with you here at Topflight Stamps today.  This week, we're focusing on a sweet brand called Chou & Flowers.  I used Lemon Flower, which has a filigree frame and lemon flowers and leaves.  I stamped the flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, fussy cut and colored those, and set aside.  I stamped the frame with embossing ink, sprinkled on WOW! Embossing Powder in Silver Smudge and used a heat tool to set it, and trimmed it.  On my white cardstock background, I sprayed Lavinia Spring Moss, spritzed with a little water, and set aside to dry.  Once dry, I used Darkroom Door Small Stencil "Crackle" and Studio Light Stencil Paste in Gold (Silver featured here) to create some shimmery interest along the bottom half of card.  The Chou & Flowers frame and lemon flowers were glued on top, and little pearls from Hunkydory were added to the flower centers.

Hope you have a beautiful day! ~ Colleen

Strawberry Tag with PaperArtsy

Hello all!  This week at Topflight Stamps we are focusing on the PaperArtsy brand.  It's a vast category, they have so many products in our store!  For my tag, I began with a couple of Fresco Chalk Paint in two colors:  Spring and Winter Green and paired them with PaperArtsy Alison Bomber PS487 and PS472 Large Stencils.  After the background was dry, I carefully glued down some petite strawberry plants, courtesy of PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Strawberry Edition stamp set.  They'd been stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on scrap white cardstock, colored and fussy-cut.  I also stamped and cut out the words that come with that stamp set:  botanical, medicinal, floral and herbal, and added them on here individually.  There's a round label that comes with the set too, and I used that, plus a postage stamp image from the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Rosehips Edition stamp set.  They decorate a piece of abaca ribbon I've had for decades.

Hope you have a beautiful day! ~ Colleen

Mixed Media Monday Art Journal Page

Hi Topflight Stamp Fans, Karen Bearse here with an art journal page from my Art By Marlene journal book. Remember if you use my code karenbearse you save 12%. I have a tutorial on my blog that you can find here. Below my page are the products I have used.

Here is my fun summery page. I had finished it but decided to add the photo after it was done. The words are washi tape but you can use stamps or a quote instead.

Let's look at the products used to create this page. Started with a Daisy, Daisy stencil & Fresco Finish paint. Lots of great colors to chose from!

So many images on this Edison Game stamp. It is really big like, 8x10" and has such detailed images. I used this in random spots on my page.

Also used bits of Feathered Blooms- especially the grid image. Prism Inks were used for the stamping.

Love Ernest this happy gnome image, just speaks spring to me for some reason.

The Shroom set I used it sold out but there are quite a few fun ones!

Art By Marlene makes great journals! She has a few offers in the Topflight Stamps shop.  This one is 8x8" with paper that is great for adding mixed media. Thanks so much for joining me today I hope you have the chance to get inky today!

Summer Flowers

Happy May! Ericka here and I'm continuing our weekly theme of "Summer" with this fun flower card using PaperArtsy Zinski set.

This is such a fun set to color up. The main image is a cute elephant, but for the summer theme, I wanted to use the flowers.

I colored them up with some bright watercolor markers and used the Katzelkraft Dreamer sentiment and heat embossed it with some WOW! Embossing.

Topflight Stamps / Crafty Individuals - By The Sea

Hi everyone and welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog!  It's Jenny here, joining you with a simple card to usher in the summer!

The stamp set I'm using today comes from Crafty Individuals - it's called By The Sea and is filled with fun seaside images.
To create my card, I die cut a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock - this cardstock is great for blending watercolor ink / paint - today I'm using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.   I then stamped one of the deckchairs from the stamp set in black waterproof ink and heat set it.

I then masked off a square panel with masking tape and used my brush markers to create a sunset over a sea, very simply, overlapping and blending each color into the next.  I didn't mask off the deck chair, I just colored round the edges. I held my hand over the deckchair and spritzed the background with shimmery spray lightly.  I then removed the masking tape and used some simple coloring to the chair, and some shadows underneath.   I stamped the sentiment in grey ink underneath and added a glitter heart so it says 'love' By the Sea.

I popped the entire panel up on foam tape onto a woodgrain panel card base.   Super simple but really fun to create!  I hope you like it! You can find more details on the supplies I used over on my blog.

Have a wonderful day.

PaperArtsy JOFY Summer Card

Welcome to the Topflight Stamps Blog!

Today I'm sharing a quick and easy watercolor card I made using the PaperArtsy Jofy 16 Stamp Set and Studio Light Papers.

I just quickly stamped the row of beach huts in Ranger Archival ink, then I colored in the card with a water brush and using my Koi Water Color Pocket Field Sketch Box. To finish the card I stamped the sentiment and matted it with some Studio Light Papers from the #44 Paper Pad.

Not every card has to be complicated and use tons of supplies. Sometimes you just need to get something made quickly that looks nice. That's when I like to use Water colors, because you can't really go wrong with them.

Steph here again with some fun stamps from the store.    These wonderful stamps are from The Netherlands!

Barbecue

I've used the Campfire Die from Joy Crafts.  To make it more realistic, I die cut it from 2 pieces of cardstock, cut it apart and reassembled it.

Campfire Die

Using the tent stamp from the Barbecue stamp set from Joy Crafts, I used a masking technique to add 3 different colored tents.

The Barbecue stamp set from Joy Crafts has tons of stamps to work with and also a grill die.  Using the grill die as the focal element, I worked a variety of stamps around it.

Thanks for stopping by and please pop by my blog for more crafty inspiration.

See you next Tuesday.
