Goldfinch in the Flowers

Hello!  This week at Topflight Stamps, our theme is Anything Goes.  I used a PaperArtsy set called Scrapcosy ESC19, which features lush flowers and a beautiful bird.  I stamped the flower cluster on either corner of the card, and stamped the bird on a scrap of paper using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I colored the flower centers, the leaves, and the bird with alcohol markers.  Then the bird was fussy cut and added to the center of the card, perched among the flora.

This is my last week as a designer for Topflight Stamps, and I am so very grateful for the time I've had as part of the team!  My thanks to Donna, owner of Topflight Stamps, for having me as a designer.  It's been my pleasure to create with the amazing products she has in her shop!

Hope you have a wonderful week! ~ Colleen Dietrich

Voyage of Discovery

It's Tuesday which means that you have Kathi here to share a project with you! This week's theme is Beach/Ocean.

Here's a photo that shows a bit more of the shimmer created with the Glitz Spritz Spray.

Use Copic markers to color the image. Add white caps to the ocean with a white Gelly Roll Gel Pen. Use a Black Gelly Roll Glaze Pen to fill in the open letters of "Discovery". Trim the image panel and edge with a black marker. Set it aside.

Select a piece of patterned paper from the Retro Summer 6x6 Patterned Paper Pad by Craft Consortium Ltd to use as a background panel. Trim it to 5.25" square.

Use Sand Dune VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Counting Down tide chart (no longer available at TFS) along the right hand side if the patterned paper.

Use Sand Dune VersaFine Clair Ink to stamp both the Compass and the anchor stamps from the ScrapCosy ESC11 Cling Rubber Stamp Set by PaperArtsy along the left side of the patterned paper. Heat set the ink. Edge the background panel with Sand Dune VersaFine Clair Ink. Heat set the panel.

Spray Cactus Gold Glitz Spray from the Glitz Spritz Spray Set (Cactus Gold) by Lindy's Stamp Gang over the stamped background panel. Heat set.

Adhere the image panel to the background panel as shown, then adhere the background panel to a 5.5" square kraft card.

Please pop over to my blog, Kat's Tales of Stamping, for step-by-step instructions and complete supply lists.

Postal Collage

Hello all!  You've got Colleen here for an "Anything Goes" week at Topflight Stamps.  I had fun making a collage card with various elements from PaperArtsy stamps:  Alison Bomber Rosehips Edition; Alison Bomber Violets Edition; Alison Bomber Blackthorn Edition; Alison Bomber Apple Blossom Edition and Scrapcosy 41.  Each of these sets has a little postage stamp / postmark / small label, and I stamped each one on scrap paper and colored in with alcohol markers, then fussy cut.  I set these aside to create my background.  On watercolor paper cut to fit my card, I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang Buccaneer Bay Blue in a random way, then spritzed water to help the color move around.  While that was drying, I tore a piece of kraft paper from a shopping bag into a smaller rectangle.  I spritzed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Gossamer Gold, and followed up with some sprays of water to move the color.  Once that was dry, I assembled all of the little elements in the center of the kraft rectangle, and added some scraps of burlap in two corners.

The Lavinia Uplifting Collection Stickers have their spot(s) on here too.  I used the white ones from the sticker set (they come in black and a neutral tone, too) and grunged them up with distress ink.

Wishing you a wonderful day! ~ Colleen

Strong Women & Strong Coffee: A Spring Mixed Media Card

Hello crafty friends and Happy International Women’s Day!

Today I’m celebrating by joining the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Instagram Blog Hop, and it’s the perfect excuse to combine a few of my favorite things: coffee stamps, gel press prints, and sparkly embossing.

Be sure to check out the hop on Instagram for your chance to win some amazing prizes!

🌸 Creating the Spring Gel Print

I started by pulling out my gel plate and creating a background using soft spring-inspired colors. Gel printing is one of my favorite ways to build interesting backgrounds because every print is a little different and full of natural texture.

Once the print was dry, I stamped one of my favorite coffee images from the Scrapcosy 13 by PaperArtsy.

To add a little sparkle and dimension, I heat embossed the image using WOW! Embossing Powder in Mai Tai, which gives the background a beautiful shimmering finish.

🎨 Adding a Painted Focal Image

To make the design pop, I stamped the same coffee image again on a separate piece of paper.

This time, I colored it using Mattints in:

  • Dragonfly

  • The Pink

  • Glow

These translucent paints add such a gorgeous stained-glass look when layered.

Once everything was dry, I carefully fussy cut the image and popped it onto the card front for extra dimension.

✨ Finishing Touches

To complete the card, I added:

  • A thank-you sentiment strip from Darkroom Door

  • A hand-drawn frame to bring everything together and give the card a finished, artsy look

The combination of the soft spring colors, sparkly embossing, and layered focal image makes this card feel cheerful and celebratory.

National Coffee Day Instagram Hop with Topflight Stamps

Hello crafty coffee lovers! ☕✨ Ericka from Strangely Creative here, and today I’m celebrating National Coffee Day with Topflight Stamps! We’re joining in on a fun Instagram Hop, and you won’t want to miss it—there’s a chance to win a $25 Gift Card to the store. 🎉 Be sure to check our Instagram post here.

For my card, I decided to combine two of my favorite things: coffee + gel press printing.

I started by digging into my stash of gel press prints (seriously, they’re like hidden treasures waiting to be used!). I took a rich brown gel press background and white heat embossed one of the gorgeous images from the PaperArtsy Scrapcosy 13 set. To give my coffee pot some extra character, I repeated the process on a deep Admiral Blue gel press background, fussy cut the pot, and layered it over the brown base. The contrast really makes it pop!

For the sentiment, I reached for another gel press print I had created with Watermelon Fresco Paint. I stamped the sentiment from the Scrapcosy 29 set and mounted it to my card, giving it a cheerful and bold touch. To finish everything off, I added a hand-drawn frame—because sometimes the smallest details make the biggest impact.

I love how this card came together—it feels cozy, creative, and perfect for celebrating National Coffee Day. ☕💌
