Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week my teammates and I are celebrating Christmas/Winter in July. Not only are we sharing holiday and winter-themed projects, Topflight Stamps is celebrating with a sale! Go check it out. You're sure to find oodles of wonderful stuff!
Here's my holiday card, created with the Stay Cozy Clear Stamp Set 814 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create, Snowflakes Background Stamp by Darkroom Door, Card Passe Partout Rectangle Die Set by Studio Light, A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions, Della Blue Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps, and Medieval Blue VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.
I stamped the girl from the Stay Cozy Clear Stamp Set 814 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create with Copic-friendly black ink onto white cardstock and fussy-cut her. I also stamped her coat with the same onto one of the pink plaid patterned papers from the A Gingham Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Creative Expressions and fussy-cut it.
Copic markers were used to color the girl and her coat, which were then edged with a black pen. White gel pen was used to add white highlights to her eyes, the buttons, and her boots, then several coats of clear glossy glaze pen were used to add to dimension and shine to her boots and buttons. The detailed fussy-cut coat was adhered in place, then the girl was set aside.
A panel of white cardstock was cut with a plain rectangle die from the Card Passe Partout Rectangle Die Set by Studio Light.
Della Blue Elements Ink by Lavinia Stamps was smooshed onto my craft mat, misted with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol using one of the Fine Spray Misters by Spectrum Noir, then the white rectangle die-cut was dipped into the inky puddle. When the paper was covered with ink, I misted it again with the alcohol to further blend the inks and saturate the paper. The paper was heat set, then I took a look at the reverse of the die-cut and decided that I liked that blue better.
I tore a piece of paper tape and placed it at the bottom of the die-cut background which was secured onto a stamping platform. White sparkly ink was used to ink the Snowflakes Background Stamp by Darkroom Door, to edge the panel. and heat set.
A white gel pen was used to trace the top of the tape at the bottom of the background panel, then removed. The sparkly white ink was used to sponge the area below the gel pen, then a white gel pen, a white paint pen, and the Gelly Roll Bold Line Stardust Clear Glittering Ink pen by Sakura was used to add detail to the bottom of the background panel.
The girl was adhered to the background panel which was matted with blue cardstock.
Medieval Blue VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko was used to stamp the sentiment, from the Stay Cozy Clear Stamp Set 814 onto white cardstock. Della Blue Elements Ink was used to stamp the snowflake over the sentiment. The sentiment combo was cut with a speech bubble die, then adhered as shown.
The same pink plaid paper that was used to paper piece the coat was cut with the largest scalloped rectangle die from the Card Passe Partout Rectangle Die Set. The largest rectangle die from the set was used to cut white textured cardstock, then the card was assembled as shown.
