If the Broom Fits...

It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week's theme is "Anything Goes". It's my favorite time of the year so I've created a Halloween card with stamps and dies by AALL and Create and sparkly sprays by Lindy's Stamp Gang

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the witch, the cat, the broom, and the cloud (three times) from the Free Broom Rides Clear Stamp Set by Janet Klein for AALL and Create.

Fussy-cut all of the images, color them with alcohol markers (I used Copics and Olos which are listed on my blog), and edge them with a black pen. Use a white gel pen to add highlights to the witch's and cat's eyes. Use a silver metallic fine tip pen to add the binding around the broom's straw. Set the colored images aside, well away from your spraying area.

Use the Building Silhouettes Die 58 by AALL and Create to cut heavy water-friendly black cardstock. I discovered that you could extend your cuts horizontally which worked out really well.

Spray the Building Silhouettes black die-cut with Steel Shimmer Glitz Spray from the Glitz Spritz Spray Set by Lindy's Stamp Gang and heat set thoroughly. Turn the die-cut to the reverse , add two sided tape to cover the windows and doors of the Building Silhouettes die-cut, then flip the die-cut back over to the front so that the sticky part of the tape is in the windows and doors.

Cut yellow vellum with the Building Silhouettes Die 58. Inset the window and door vellum die-cuts into their corresponding apertures on the inked  Building Silhouettes die-cut.

Cut a piece of white mixed media cardstock to 7.25" x 5.25" for the card's background. Spray it with Azure Sea Asters Stardust Spray from the Mermaid Sea Shells Stardust Spray Set by Lindy's Stamp Gang and the Screamin' Banchee Black Stardust Spray from the Haunted Halloween Stardust Spray Set by Lindy's Stamp Gang. Heat set the sprayed cardstock. This combination makes a really nice shimmery night sky.

Trim the bottom from the Building Silhouettes die-cut, then adhere it to base of the blue/black sprayed background panel so that the witch and cat will fit atop the broomstick in the sky area.

Trim the layered background to 6.75" x 4.75" and edge with a black marker. Adhere the layered background to a 7" x 5" black card.

Use the moon die from the Roadway Vistas Die Set 78 by AALL and Create to cut a scrap of white mixed media cardstock.

Adhere three clouds to the sky area of the background. Adhere the moon die-cut as shown. Use wet glue and two-sided tape to adhere the witch and the cat to the broom and to adhere the broom to the Building Silhouettes die-cut and the background.

Add the sentiment stickers to finish the card.

Easy Mixed Media Christmas Card with a Touch of Lindy’s Magic

Hello crafty friends!
Ericka from Strangely Creative here, and this week we’ve been diving into all things Christmas cards! 🎅 You can never start too early when it comes to creating your holiday stash and yet, somehow, I always find myself rushing to get them all finished before December hits. That’s why I love a quick and easy design that still feels festive and full of sparkle.

Creating the Background

I started by pulling out some of my favorite Lindy’s Gang sprays, this time, I went with the gorgeous Victorian Bouquet Shimmer Set. I lightly sprayed the colors onto watercolor paper, drying between each layer. The soft shimmer and blend of bright hues give instant holiday magic without much effort.

🎄 Adding the Focal Image

Once the background was completely dry, I stamped the PaperArtsy Xmas stamp and white heat-embossed it. I love how the scripty text peeks through behind the tree and gives it a beautiful layered effect that’s still clean and simple.

🖤 Finishing Touches

To finish, I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock, added a strip of washi tape for a pop of pattern, and mounted everything with a crisp white border. Just like that, another Christmas card ready for the pile - easy, shimmery, and festive!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope this project inspires you to get an early start on your Christmas cardmaking and maybe even play with your favorite Lindy’s Gang colors this week. 💖

Have a wonderfully creative day!

I love the vintage look of the PaperArtsy Hot Picks Xmas 10 stamp set. I used them to create the stamped background. I also fussy cut the stamped car image out and popped it out with some foam adhesive squares behind it. Green embossing powder on the tree added some nice contrast.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Topflight Stamps store for a wide selection of different and hard to find stamps, stencils and other paper crafting supplies from all around the world! Also keep an eye here on the Topflight Stamps blog. There is new inspiration posted often!

Peace on Earth Holiday Card

It's Tuesday which means you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week the team's focus is Christmas/Winter.

Here's my card created with the adorable Little Light Clear Stamp Set TP-1314 by Janet Klein for AALL and CreateAALL and Create's Bubble Talk Die Set 72 and their Holey Fun Die Set DI-88. The patterned paper is  from the Jolly Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Woodware.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the Little Light Angel from the Little Light Clear Stamp Set TP-1314 by Janet Klein for AALL and Create twice — once onto white cardstock and again onto repositionable sticker paper.

Color the Little Light Angel with Copic markers. Fussy-cut the sticker paper version of the Little Light Angel and place it atop its counterpart on the image panel as a mask.

Place the small rounded rectangle die from the Bubble Talk Die Set 72 by AALL and Create facedown on the image panel so it's framing the Little Light Angel. Secure the die in place with low-tack tape and run the combination through your die-cut machine.

Flip the secured cutting diet/die-cut panel to the reverse. Use low-tack tape to secure the die-cut to the back of the panel.

Flip the panel over again so that the masked image and the cutting die are facing upwards. Place a piece of low-tack tape horizontally just above the bottom of Little Light Angel's dress. Sponge light grey ink over the tape and the cutting die onto the bottom of the die-cut image panel to ground the the Little Light Angel.

Move the low-tack tape so that it's covering the grey-inked bottom of the image panel die-cut/cutting die. Brush or sponge Della Blue Elements Inks by Lavinia Stamps over the back of the cutting die onto masked image panel die-cut.

Remove the low-tack tape and the die from the image panel die-cut. Clean the ink off of the die with a baby wipe.

Place the image panel die-cut onto the base of a stamping platform. Position the halo stamp from the Little Light Clear Stamp Set TP-1314 over Little Light Angel's head and use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to stamp it

Use the gold metallic marker from the Colorista Essential Metallic Markers Set by Spectrum Noir to color the halo. Set the image panel die-cut aside for now.

Use Tuxedo Black Memento Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko to stamp the dove from the Little Light Clear Stamp Set TP-1314 onto a scrap of white cardstock. Fussy-cut the dove, color with Copic markers, and edge with a black pen. Set aside.

Use the largest die from the Holey Fun Die Set DI-88 by AALL and Create to cut a piece of blue patterned paper from the Jolly Christmas 8x8 Patterned Paper Pad by Woodware. This will become the background panel.

Use the smallest die from Holey Fun Die Set DI-88 by AALL and Create to cut a leftover piece of the blue patterned paper.

Flip the patterned paper and place low-tack tape across the back of the aperture left in the patterned paper. Place the patterned paper die-cut onto the tape in the aperture. Place the patterned paper onto the base of a stamping platform. Position the "Peace" sentiment so that it is facedown on the die-cut. Ink the stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and stamp.

Remove the sentiment die-cut from the tape holding it to the patterned paper.

Edge the background panel die-cut and the sentiment die-cut with sparkly gold ink. Heat set both pieces.

Adhere the Little Light Angel die-cut to the background panel as shown. Adhere the sentiment die-cut and the dove above her on the background panel as shown.

Adhere the completed background panel die-cut to a blue card that is .25" larger than the background panel.

Mixed Media Magic with Gel Prints and PaperArtsy Stamps

Hello creative friends! 🎨 Ericka from Strangely Creative here and this week we’re diving into one of my absolute favorite art styles Mixed Media! Mixed media art combines multiple mediums to create rich textures, layers, and dimension… and for today’s project, I couldn’t resist pulling out one of my gel press backgrounds from my stash.

I thought this would be the perfect base for my card! To start, I reached for my PaperArtsy Seth Apter mini stamps and used white pigment ink with clear embossing powder. The combination added such beautiful texture and subtle shine, a perfect foundation for what came next.

Next, I stamped the PaperArtsy Tracy Scott 39 stamp on another gel press print and clear embossed it for even more dimension. I fussy-cut the image and attached it to my background using foam tape to create some lift and shadow.

To finish things off, I added a hand-drawn border and a fun sentiment from AALL & Create Ephemera Die Cuts – Funny Bone Funnies. I love how this brought the entire design together with a playful twist!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope this inspires you to dig into your stash and make some mixed media magic of your own this weekend!

Mixed Media Fun + Some Snark…

Hello, Lisa Hoel here. This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is "Mixed Media". (Always lots of fun!) Topflight Stamps carries all sorts of media and tools for your own mixed media adventures.

Lisa Hoel for Topflight Stamps #creativejuicefreshsqueezed #topflightstamps

I applied texture paste through the AALL & Create #100 Nodes over an inky background. Once it was dry, I spritzed and splattered it with Lindy's Smoky Sapphire and Autumn Leaves mists. I also used Winter Green Fresco paint through the PaperArtsy PM025 mini stencil. The owls I stamped, watercolored and fussy cut (from Katzelkraft set KTZ237). Paired with Funny Bone Funnies sentiment strips for a funny snarky card. ;-)
