Greetings and Happy New Year! It's Tuesday, which means that it's Kathi here to share a project with you. This week my TFS teammates and I are sharing New Year's projects.
Last week I shared a New Year's card where 2020 was tossed into a rubbish tin and set afire by a clever robot. This week I'm sharing a New Year's card where the "0" in 2020 has been blasted apart by an alien while his spaceship lowers a "1" into place.
I've used the Alien Invader Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Visible Image with a sentiment from the Classic Sentiments Clear Polymer Stamp Set by Heffy Doodle on a background stamped with the Celestial Navigation Clear Stamp #398 by Olga Heldwein for AALL and Create.
Here's the card.
The alien and the spaceship from the Alien Invader Clear Polymer Stamp Set were stamped with black ink, fussy-cut, edged with a dark marker, then colored with Copic markers.
The lower part of the the alien's jawline was traced onto white cardstock and trimmed into a mask shape. The mask was edged with a black marker, colored with Copic markers, then adhered in place to cover the alien's nose and mouth.
A white paint pen and a stencil were used to add the "202", the "1", and the blasted "0" to white speckled blue cardstock. The white paint pen was also used to add the rays from the ray gun. When the paint was dry, glitter pen was applied over the rays from the ray gun.
Shimmery sparkly blue ink was used to stamp the Celestial Navigation Clear Stamp onto the image panel. You can see bits of the sparkle though it's really difficult to capture the tone on tone glittery sparkle of the total image. I guess you'll have to take my word for it. The background was trimmed to 4" x 5.25", edged with the sparkly blue ink, and adhered to a white A2 card.
The sentiment was stamped with white pigment ink onto the white speckled blue cardstock and heat embossed with detail embossing powder. A scrap of cardstock was sponged with the same shimmery sparkly blue ink used to stamp the background. I'd like to mention that I truly love this sentiment set because the small plain font is perfect to fit into small spaces and there are so many useful sentiments included in the set.
The sentiment and the inked scrap were cut with a framed rectangle set.
The alien and the spaceship were adhered to the card front and a silver gel pen was used to add cables from the spaceship to the "1". The matted sentiment was adhered as shown to finish the card.
