Multitasking Gift Tags for Christmas

Hi   MEL PILLING   here today with some easy gift tag inspiration.

Smooshing is a great technique if you are doing several tags at once.  It is a great way to get those Christmas gift tags ready in a hurry.  Stamp a few pads of Elements Ink on your craft mat and spritz them with water.  Then push your tags a little bit at a time into the wet ink.  Allow each layer to dry before repeating in a different colour to avoid muddying your colours.

Use a Fan Brush to add speckles.

On clean card, stamp all your star characters.  Pick a few.  You don’t want everyone getting the same gift tag.   I coloured mine with watercolour markers, then cut them all out and darkened the edges with a black marker so your cutting looks flawless. Glue them to the tags.  Add a sentiment and do a dark framework.  Add a little ribbon or a string. I used some Liquid Pearl dots for dimension.

Once you try the smooshing technique, I think you will soon be doing them all the time.   I find it relaxing just to make these backgrounds. You can do quite a few of them in one sitting and then just set them aside and use them at a later date to make a really quick project. And of course this technique works well with many stamps.

And don’t miss the great Black Friday sale at top-flight stamps for 20% off your entire order.

Thank you for joining me today on the Topflight Stamps blog.  Happy crafting!
