Magical Lavinia Fairy

 

Happy Friday, I hope you all had a wonderful week! Ericka from Strangely Creative and today I'm playing with some Lavinia stamps, stencils and inks for a magical card.   

 

I started by ink blending using the Lavinia Flurry stencil with the Lavinia Dye inks in Merlot, Blue Lagoon and Graphite. I love how juicy these inks are and how the colors blend so nicely. 

I stamped the Lavinia Serene fairy stamp in black Versamark and clear heat embossed it. I add some Stickles Glitter glue to her wings for added sparkle. I also added Yellow Nuvo Drop to the light for a fun look. Lastly, I stamped the Magic Surrounds Us sentiment to finish my card.

Mushroom Scenery with Lavinia Stamps

Cornelia here today! 

This week we are featuring Lavinia stamps. 

I am a hugs fan of this company and I have been over the years slowly increasing my stash. So happy to have an occasion to use them!

I used an old background from my stash. Stamped everything on it and colored with water brush pens. Used a white POSCA pen for the accents. I don't have any Lavinia sentiments, so I figured this is good enough as is. If I feel like it I can always add one later.... It's as so often a one layer card.

Card making with Lavinia Stamps

Hi, Connie here with a couple of cards using stamps and stencils
by Lavinia Stamps.  Topflight has an amazing selection of these
wonderfully fun stamps.  All you need is an imagination!

Both of the cards were created in the same manner just with different stamps.
The cardstock used has a matt (slick) finish to it. It takes the Distress Oxide ink
differently than regular cardstock.  I really love the look~
Card #1 ~

The Distress Oxide is added to the cardstock with a foam applicator. I then added the stencil

and added more color, creating dark areas on the background. The Ivy is outlined with
a white gel pen. The pebble ground stencil is added next. The card front was put on a stamping
platform and the silhouette stag and butterflies were added. I used Versafine / Onyx
Black for my choice of ink.  The sentiment is stamped on a strip of white cardstock,
cut down and adhered across the bottom of the card. The card front is
speckled with white acrylic paint.

Card #2~

The second card is created just like the first card except the buzzing bee and 
the foliage are added.  The bee is painted in with yellow acrylic paint and
a glitter pen was used on the wings.  The foliage tips are dabbed with acrylic
 white paint. Both cards are speckled with white acrylic paint to complete
the enchanting look.

Mermazing Cards with Lavinia Stamps!

 Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here. We're featuring Lavinia Stamps' wonderful products this week so be sure to check back throughout the week to see what my talented teammates have created!

I wanted to experiment with Elements Inks to see how they reacted with water mists and with salt. I got so excited that I created two backgrounds that I loved, which led to the creation of the two cards below.

Both cards use Zelith Clear Polymer Stamp, Sea Creatures Clear Polymer Stamp, the two little stamps included with the Floral Wreath Clear Polymer Stamp Set, the Glory Stencil, Blue Lagoon and Mermaid Elements Ink.

Here's the first card, which also uses the Mini Fish Clear Polymer Stamp and Every Dream Clear Polymer Stamp. 

Elements Inks are very juicy so my usual method of using them is to apply ink to the brayer, then brayer off some ink onto a second piece of cardstock. This allows me to control the amount and intensity of the ink applied to the Gel Press.

Mermaid Elements Ink was applied to my brayer, brayered off, and brayered onto my large Gel Press. The print was pulled. This process was repeated until I was happy with the coverage. 

The same process was repeated with Blue Lagoon Elements Ink. 

The print was misted with water then heat set.

Here's the second card that uses Mini Sea Urchin Clear Polymer Stamp, Acetate Hills Masks by Lavinia Stamps,  with the Deeper Than The Ocean Clear Polymer Stamp sentiment.

This background was the result of my experiment. The cardstock that I had used to remove the excess ink from the brayer was rather dark after multiple applications of ink. The background was sprayed with water, then I added a combination of Kosher salt and large crystals of calcium chloride. My husband is a chemist, so we have odd things around here, other than him. 

The salt immediately began to react with the water and ink. Some salt seemed to disappear; some formed a gel-like substance.

The cardstock was heat set and the remaining crystals were brushed into the bin.

This is what the background looked like when that was done. So cool!

Rabbit in the Garden Scene with Lavinia Elements Ink

 

Hello friends!  It's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a fun gardenscape card with you featuring one of my favorite Lavinia stamps, Lola the Rabbit.  I'm fascinated by the ink splattering technique Lavinia came up with using the Gel Press printing plate, and the reason they invented the Lavinia Elements Premium Dye Ink Pads.  I've clipped a Lavinia video that explains the process, which is how I created my background initially.  Starting with a "textured" background like this adds so much dimension to your scenes. 

With my dried background, I began to create a garden scene for my sweet little bunny.  First I spritzed a lot of water in the center of the panel and blotted to lift some of the ink to create a highlight.  Then I used the Lavinia Crackle (or cobblestone, if you will) stencil and sponged with Sahara Elements ink to create a pathway.  I used PaperArtsy Stencil PS067 by Kay Carley and sponged with Merlot at the top of the panel, then added more sponged shading along the edges.  I added lots of splashes of water for extra texture. 

At the pinnacle of my stone path, I partially stamped the doorway from PaperArtsy Stamp Set EEG26 by Emma Godfrey and added more sponged detail with brown ink.  Then I stamped Lola the Rabit, waiting at the doorway.  I adhered tiny Prima flowers and centered them with Nuvo Vintage Drops in Chocolate, then highlighted the stones and branches with copper Stickles.  I adhered a sticker sentiment onto a portion of inky paper leftover from my initial background making.  Now, this isn't my normal style of cardmaking, but I must say it was great fun to play and fluff along the way.  I hope you're inspired to see what scenes you can create with your stamps and stencils today.  xx, Autumn
