Colorful Conehead Daisy: A Mixed Media Moment

Hello crafty friends!
Ericka from Strangely Creative here, and today I’m sharing a bright and bold mixed media card featuring one of my new favorites: the IndigoBlu Colour Me Conehead Daisy stamp. If you love layering colors and textures as much as I do, this one’s for you!

🎨 Let’s Get Creative!

I started by pulling out a Gel Press print from my stash, don’t you love when one of those unexpected prints becomes the perfect base? I stamped the Conehead Daisy directly onto the print and white heat embossed it to give the image a crisp, clean pop against the busy background.

Next, I wanted to add even more depth and vibrancy, so I grabbed my Lavinia Sun Yellow Acrylic Spray. A couple of spritzes added the perfect sunny glow and brought the whole piece to life.

 

✂️ Final Touches

To tie it all together, I doodled a hand-drawn frame around the card for a whimsical touch (my go-to move lately!). I couldn’t resist adding a couple bits of the AALL & Create Cobalt Swallowtail washi for extra texture and color contrast.

And voilà — a bright, textured, and totally fun card that’s as playful as it is layered.

Crafty Individuals Christmas Card

Hello, happy December! Lisa Hoel here. I'm back with another Topflight Stamps Christmas card for you. This week's brand focus is on Crafty Individuals and there is a wide variety of their wonderful designs available in the store. Crafty Individuals stamps are red rubber and sold unmounted so don't forget to get some mounting foam too.

I used a gel print from my stash for the background and embossed snowflakes onto it with the Snowflakes PaperArtsy stencil and silver texture paste. The focal image, Crafty Individuals Christmas Angel of Love, I stamped with Blue Atoll and then immediately dusted it with blue Perfect Pearls powder to give it a metallic finish.

Celebrating Fall with AALL & Create

 Hello, Lisa Hoel here. It's finally September! I'm ready for fall weather and colors so I was inspired to create an autumn themed card using the AALL & Create Garden Times stamp as a focal image.

I raided my stash of monoprints made with a Gel Press Plate for the layer under the main image. (It pays to have a stash!)

Creating a Colorful Birthday Card with Crealies Rainbow Die

Ericka from Strangely Creative here and I’m excited to share a quick and cheerful birthday card I made using the adorable Crealies Rainbow Die. This die is a true gem—it cuts both a frame and large inserts, making it incredibly versatile for various projects. For this card, I decided to give some of my leftover gel press prints new life by transforming them into a vibrant and unique rainbow.

 

I love how the die perfectly showcases the beautiful textures and colors from the gel press prints, creating a one-of-a-kind rainbow that’s full of personality. Once I had my rainbow laid out, I reached for the Visible Image Happy Birthday stamp to complete the card with a crisp and clean sentiment. The simplicity of this design really lets the rainbow shine, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out!

One of the best things about the Crealies Rainbow Die is its small size, which makes it perfect for using up those scraps and leftovers that we all have tucked away. There are so many fun ways to play with this die, and I can’t wait to experiment with more ideas in the future.

Mixed Media Gel Press Journal Card

 

Hello friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here, and I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. Today, I'm excited to share a new journal card project that combines the AALL & Create Skycrossed Paradise die with the Visible Image Shining Star stamp.

 

 

I started with an old gel press print on a book page, but I wasn't thrilled with the colors. Determined to give it new life, I reached for my PaperArtsy Fresco paints in London Bus and Aquamarine. The result was fantastic! The vibrant layers peek through beautifully, creating a rich, textured background that I'm absolutely in love with.

 

To add a focal point, I stamped the star from the Visible Image Shining Star set using Versafine Clair Nocturn ink and clear embossed it. This gave the star a bold, crisp appearance. I then used the Skycrossed Paradise die to cut the image down and adhered it to my colorful background.

Gel Press Christmas Tag

 

Hello friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Today I have a fun colorful Christmas tag I made using some gel press prints along with the AALL & Create Tag It Yourself die with some Visible Image stamps. 

I started by die cutting some gel press prints I had in my stash. I love the jagged edges of these dies for a fun look. 

I layered my tags and then on the smallest tag, I stamped the Visible Image Grunge Christmas Words and heat embossed it with WOW! Tarnished Teal. I then stamped the Snowflake Grunge on another gel print and fussy cut it out to add it to my tag.

I added a smaller tag in my stash using the Visible Image Christmas Tree Grunge.

Craft Emotions Gel Press Flowers

 

Happy Friday crafty friends! Ericka with Strangely Creative here and today I am playing with a gel press print and these beautiful flowers from Crafty Emotions called Kate 4 Background. 

I saved a gel press print that I made and wasn't too sure I liked. I decided to stamp and heat emboss the Kate 4 Background with WOW! Embossing in Pea Coat.

I then took out my colored pencils and colored up a couple of the flowers to make them pop on my busy background.

I finished my by adding this funny/snarky sentiment from AALL & Create's Bite Me Ephemera Die Cuts. There are so many great sentiments in this package. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
