Lavinia Stenciled Sea Turtle with Brusho Powders

Hi friends, it's Autumn Clark from SewPaperPaint with you today to share a fun summertime card featuring this gorgeous Crafty Individuals Sea Turtle stamp.  I had a play with the lovely new Lavinia Elements Dye Ink Pads, brayering Blue Lagoon onto my Gel Press printing plate.  This is a fun technique Lavinia shares on their YouTube and Instagram pages.  Once I brayered the ink, I then splashed on heavily diluted Brusho pigment powders onto the gel plate using a fan brush.  This creates all of those lovely splashy pools on your paper, all tinted with your base color.  I took the ink that was left on my brayer and did a second panel.  You can see how much lighter it is in the background, but perfectly coordinated.  I used the Crealies XXL Square Stitched Nesting dies to cut the center of the lighter panel and saved it for another project.  I then cut the top panel with the next larger die so it would overlap and not show my cutaway.  This is a great trick to maximize those precious inky papers!

I wanted to create a little more depth so I stenciled more Mermaid Elements ink through the Lavinia Flora stencil.  I finished the design by embossing a portion of the Make Art Sentiment Strip stamp by Darkroom Door in white and adding a few details with a white paint pen.  I love this technique and hope you will too!  Hugs, Autumn

Summer Sun & Island Escapes

Happy Monday Folks!

It's Clare with you today at the Topflight Stamps blog and  this week we are all in the mood for summer.  More recently the weather in the UK has been awesome!  Lots of warm summer days & nights have been some of my inspiration along with a superb selection of stamps from Topflight.

I used a versatile stamp set by Kaisercraft, 'Island Escape', all the way from Australia.  Along with some Distress Oxides through a stencil, I stamped the palm trees & the cheeky sentiment included in the set.

My next make was made in a similar way with the Distress Oxides but this time I chose to stamp using Visible Images 'Face It' over the top and add the flowers from the Island Escape set with 'Sand, Sea, You & Me (I love that sentiment!)

Every month I enter a postcard swap in the UK and with this month being a summer themed swap I decided to use the stamps to go on to my card.

I'd like to think I was sat under that palm tree sipping cocktails, I can dream right?

Summer Cocktails

Welcome to the Topflight stamps blog. Today we start a week of Summer inspiration. From today until Saturday, July 15 at midnight EST all stamp in the Summer, Nautical and Travel Categories will be 25% off!! It's time to stock up on your summer stamps!!

Today, I'm starting off our Summer Inspiration Week with a card featuring a stamp from Carabelle Studio called Cocktails. I love the light and summery vibe of this card. I stamped the Cocktails with Versafine ink on Prima Watercolor paper and colored them with General watercolor pencils. I also created the sea and sky background with watercolor pencils. I was inspired by Sandy Allnock to create my own background - something I rarely do! The pink paper is from a Heidi Swap paper pad called Sunshowers. Be sure to check back tomorrow to see all the FAB summer inspiration from our awesome new design team!!  Donna
