Crafty Individuals | Clean and Simple Mixed Media with Jenny

Hi everyone, Jenny here,  and welcome to the Topflight Stamps blog!  Today I have a card that has a lot of mixed media elements,  but is still clean and simple!

I'm using the Crafty Individuals Butterfly Bouquet stamp for this card.  It has a mixed media feel,  so I decided to heat emboss it over a watercolor background. 

To create my card, I first took a panel of watercolor cardstock and dipped it into Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade that I had smushed onto my craft mat and spritzed with water.  I dried it, then redunked - repeat three times and you get a soft and pretty watercolor layered look.  

I then stamped the Butterfly Bouquet several times along the base and up the side of the card in embossing ink and heat embossed in Vanilla White embossing powder.   I then die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die.

To add another layer of media on top, I used the Alexandra Renke Butterfly Pattern stencil, which I laid over the top and added iridescent glitter paste over top in the centre.

To finish my card,  I popped up the panel on foam onto a white notecard.  I then die cut the Paper Rose Happy Birthday sentiment from white and silver mirror card stock and added it directly into the centre of the panel.  

A few sequins finished the card!

Easter Candy Basket

Hello, Lisa Hoel here. Easter is coming quickly! I have a festive candy basket to share with you today. (Filled with my son's favorite candy which I know he will appreciate next Sunday. ;-) )

The structure of the basket is the base of Eileen Hull's new Treasure Box Die. I stenciled the background and then stamped the rabbits and glued the fussy cut Katzelkraft stamp images onto it. It was a quick and easy project! You can find more info on my blog post.

All Your Heart...

Hello everyone... Annette Allen here with you today to share this card I created using:

• Crafty Individuals: Lace Doilies unmounted rubber stamp set
• PaperArtsy: Emma Godfrey 13 rubber cling mounted stamp set
• PaperArtsy: Scrapcosy Lacey Scalloped Border & Flow stencil

I first stamped Crafty Individuals: Lace Doilies unmounted rubber stamp set on my Kraft card base using neon inks.

I used the PaperArtsy: Scrapcosy Lacey Scalloped Border & Flow stencil and layered it over my stamped background. I used some IZInk Diamond glitter paint. You can use any type of glitter paint you like. Make sure to let it dry completely. 

Lastly I stamped the hearts from PaperArtsy: Emma Godfrey 13 rubber cling mounted stamp set and watercolored them on watercolor paper. I let them dry and cut them out with a hint of white around the edges. I stamped the sentiment from the same set and used some foam adhesives to give it some dimension.

Stencils and Alcohol Ink

Hello Topflight fans! Ericka here and I hope you are having a beautiful spring day. Today I'm playing with a stencil from Alexandra Renke and Alcohol Pearl Inks to make a fun bright card.

I used my this stencil (which is sold out but could be substituted with this one) with embossing paste on heavyweight Yupo paper.

After the paste was dry, I started playing with the alcohol pearl inks from Ranger.

I let the first layer dry and then came back with a little alcohol blending solution to reactive the ink and make it a little tacky. I then used some foil to add a little gold to my card. Check out the fun detail.

Hello, Topflight Fans!  Toni here with you today. The weather is getting nicer which always puts me in the mood for bright and colorful everything. This card certainly fits the bill.

I started the card by stamping Visible Image Creative Chaos with Versafine Onyx Black onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. I  then masked the flowers using Liquid Frisket.

Once the Liquid Frisket had dried, I applied Peerless Watercolors willy nilly. I used a tiny bit of Brushos too. After drying, I gently rubbed off the Liquid Frisket and got to work adding additional layers of texture, color and design.

I started by stamping one of the Visible Image Creative Chaos images in a light coating of Dreamer Glossy White Embossing Paste. Be sure to remove that from your stamp as soon as you're done!

This pic also shows the lovely pattern created by the Aall and Create Quadrilaterals Stencil and Distress Ink Mustard Yellow.

I added a bit of the stencil up top too. I love how the yellow blends and creates other colors.

Next I added the tiny sentiments from Aall and Create Textures #50 which gave me the idea to use the Alexandra Renke Kiss the Cook Stencil masked off. Of course, the diecut lips (no idea what that's from) are so perfect for this!
