Paws and Paint: A Fun Non-Holiday Card Adventure

Hello, creative friends!

Ericka here from Strangely Creative, taking a little break from the holiday hustle to craft something completely different. As much as I love the festive season, sometimes you just need a pause from Christmas cards to explore a whole new adventure! Today’s card is all about celebrating our furry friends with the adorable Crafty Individuals "Waiting for Their Next Adventure" stamp set.

To start, I stamped the charming image using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink—a favorite for crisp details. Then, I dove into my collection of PaperArtsy paints to bring the scene to life. With their vibrant and rich hues, these paints made creating a colorful, textured look a total joy.

Once my painted masterpiece was dry, I used a black pen to enhance certain details, adding depth and making the illustration pop. For the background, I reached for some AALL & Create Beachrock Washi Tape—a simple yet striking addition to complement the main image.

To wrap it up, I chose a sassy sentiment from the AALL & Create Sharp Tongues set, perfect for this playful card. This project is now ready to brighten the day of a dog-loving friend who, like me, understands the magic of four-legged companions.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope this inspires you to take a creative detour this weekend. Let’s keep crafting and creating memories—holiday or otherwise!

Until next time, happy crafting!
—Ericka

Crafty Individuals Birthday Dogs

Happy Friday friends! Ericka with Strangely Creative here and today I am continuing the Design Team theme using the Crafty Individuals brand. This brand has a wide variety of unmounted stamps, so don't forget to get the EZ Mount.  Today I thought I'd make a quick birthday card using the Waiting for Their Next Adventure stamp. These dogs are so fun and I thought I would pair them with the Visible Image Go To Words.

I stamped the dogs with Versafine Clair Nocturn ink and clear heat embossed them. I then fussy cut out a mask so that I could do some ink blending with the Lavinia Blue Atoll ink and Distress Ink in Antique Linen.

I colored up just a small part of the stamp and then added the sentiment with Versafine Clair ink in Glamorous. I finished my card by adding a little AALL & Create washi tape. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.

Dog Lovers Cards with Guest Designer Cornelia

Hello there, a new month has begun and that means we have a new Guest Designer! If you would like to be considered, be sure to tag your projects with #topflightstampsgd on Instagram. Our Guest Designer for August is Cornelia Wenokor of Stempel Spass and we are excited to see what creative creations she has in store for us!

Cornelia Wenokor

A little bit about Cornelia:

My name is Cornelia – otherwise known as fun stamping, which translates into Stempel Spass – the name of my blog. I am originally from Germany, hence my blog name, which just means fun stamping. For over 20 years I have been living in New Jersey with my husband and our younger son. Our daughter right now lives in England, working on her masters thesis. I am working full time and like to spend my evenings creating cards. I have been totally hooked now for about 7 years. I often do CAS cards, but occasionally I like to experiment with other styles. I love to tell little stories with my cards and I also love snark. Besides card making I enjoy photography, baking, cooking, hiking, biking, reading, classical and all sorts of ethnic music. In addition, I love to travel! Somehow my days are always too short...

Hi Everybody,

Cornelia here today. I am proud and happy to announce that I will be guest designer for the month of August for Topflight Stamps! I am thrilled to have been given this honor! The best thing is that August has 5 Thursdays, so I can sneak in an extra card or two......

So here is my first card:

I took this cute set by Carabelle to create my card.

Those dogs are so much fun! The Scotty dog and the Wiener dog are just meant for each other.  But I didn't want to cut off the Wiener dog. That would have been cruel.... So I decided on a side fold rather than my usual top fold and stamped him around onto the back. Masked them both and sponged the floor. Added the sentiment. I colored them with Copics.

And then the bulldog on this set complained about being left out....

So I apologized and put him on a card as well..... He is sitting on a stenciled wall and was also colored with Copics.

Such a cutie!

I will be back next Thursday with more inspiration!

Popping Up to Say Hello Spring!

Hello Topflight fans! It's spring here in Atlanta, GA and I've got spring fever! I've been taking full advantage of the fantastic weather, going for long walks with my sweet pup, Bandito (a Havanese), so I thought I'd make a card to illustrate how excited he gets when we set out for our daily excursions.

To create this interactive scene card, I used the beautiful IndigoBlu Country House Stamp and colored it up with Arteza fineliner pens. I softened the loose sketchy coloring with a water brush. For the interactive feature, I used an X-Acto blade to cut open the right door from the double doors in the image. I inked the edges with a Momento tuxedo black marker so that the white edge of the paper disappeared. I also colored the inside of the door to match the outside of the door.

To represent my Bandito, I colored up one of the pups from the Jessica Lynn Original Shih Tzu stamp set. I fussy cut it out and, again, inked the edges to hide the white edge of the paper. Then I positioned this pup so that it looked like it was coming out of the house, securing the bottom and right sides behind the right door and popping up the head with foam dots on top of the left door.

To add a springy look, I glued some fun nail art flowers onto the topiaries. For a bit of shine, I also added Ranger glossy accents to the glass in the transom above the doors, the glass in the side lamps, and the eyes and nose of the pup. Lastly the whole card front was popped up on fun foam before being attached to a black card base. The doorway was backed by a bit of vellum to soften the interior of the house.

Thanks for joining me today! If you'd like more details about the products I used or to watch the process of making this card, please visit me at my blog HERE.
