Ocean Themed Art Journal Page

 Hello Friends of Topflight Stamps, Karen Bearse here with an Ocean themed art journal page. This page was created with the idea of product 1st, which is sometimes the way to go when you don't have an idea. To see a full tutorial you can go here. 

My art journal page has lots of mixed media layers. The fish were also created using deli paper which creates a different kind of look & texture on the page. Let's see what products I used! 

The inspiration for the page came from this set, Sea World Octopus. I miss the ocean, it has been too long & this quote helped me to create the design. 

The color was furnished with Fresco Finish paint. There are so many colors to choose from!

This stencil has some great images called Textures, & this one also PS249.

 The seaweed was created using this stamp, Sea Flower.  

The ink made by Prism Ink. creates vivid color & is great for stamping on acrylic paint.

 In my mind there is always a spot for some washi tape!  

The journal I used is no longer available but this one would do nicely. It is 8x8 & has the same watercolor type quality to the pages, perfect for mixed media.

AALL & Create Floral Wings

 

Hello friends! Ericka from Strangely Creative here and today I'm creating some butterfly panels with this beautiful Floral Wings set from AALL & Create. This set is gorgeous and I love the beautiful details of all the flowers so much that I made two panels measuring 8 x 6 since this butterfly stamp is huge!

For my first card, I created a background using a brayer with the PaperArtsy Fresco Paints in Baltic Blue, Beach Hut, Granny Smith, Lemon Meringue, and Gold Rush. I stamped the AALL & Create Framework Elements around the background to give it some more texture.

After I painted up the butterfly, I added some Prism Pearlescent Powders to add some sparkle to my flowers. I fussy cut out my butterfly and added it to my panel with foam tape.

For my second panel, I stamped the butterfly and heat embossed it in gold. I used the same Pearlescent Powders for sparkle on my flowers.

After I finished painting the butterfly, I stamped the AALL & Create Framework Elements around the edges to add texture to my background.

this week we are featuring AALL&Create stamps. I am sure you are familiar with this fun company!

Those adorable figures are designed by Janet Klein - Topflight Stamps has quite a few of her stamp sets. This one is one of my favorites. I immediately knew what to do with it. 

I first sponged the background and then cut the flap with a rectangular die, but I only cut 3/4 of it to leave the flap attached. Where you can fold it on top I scored it. I stamped the sad little girl and mostly got rid of the background with bleach. I colored her with Copics.

I then stamped the happy little girl onto a white card, making sure she is centered in the opening. Colored her with Copics as well. 

Stamped the sentiment. Assembled the card. Added a big red heart to help opening the flap.

Dream ART with AALL & Create

Hi, Connie here with  a mixed media type card using stamps by
 AALL & Create.  I love the distressed look, of these stamps, so
perfect for a mixed media creation. 

I started by building a background with the set #26 / Paint Brushes.  I
stamped them in an up and down pattern using Archival /Jet Black ink.
The stamped background was dabbed in Distress Oxide ink, watered down, to
add color to the background of the card.  A second set, of the brushes,
 were stamped out and then trimmed out.  The cut out brushes were 
clumped together and secured with washi tape/ ponder #3 by
AALL & Create.  The tips of the brushes were painted with acrylic 
paint /Fresco South Pacific by Paperarsty.  The paint matched the washi
tape perfectly. Win Win!!

The words are from the #26 stamps and the #114 stencil.  To add interest the 
card edges were torn and then adhered to white cardstock.  Foam adhesive
was used to adhere the card front to black cardstock.  The card front was 
speckled with acrylic paint /Fresco Iceberg by Paperartsy.

Star Shine with AALL & Create!

 Greetings! It's Tuesday so you've got Kathi here to share a project with you. This week my teammates and I are showcasing AALL and Create's wonderful products!

Here's my mixed media card with AALL and Create's Marilyn Clear Stamp Set #475, Newsprint Numbers Clear Stamp Set #434, Reverse Stars Clear Stamp Set #485, Smitten with Stars Stencil #121, and Washi Tape #6. 

Both Marilyn images were stamped onto white cardstock, fussy-cut, colored with Copic markers, and edged with a dark marker. They were set aside while I created a background for them.

I recently realized that I tend to use a lot of blue backgrounds, so I challenged myself to create a background using other colors. Haystack, Peach Nectar,  and Taro Milk Tea Fresco Finish Chalk Paints by PaperArtsy, which are all lighter opaque colors, were brayered onto a 9" x 12" piece of heavy cardstock. Then Banana,, Tango,  and Bougainvillea Fresco Finish Chalk Paint were applied overtop using a make-up blending foam. 

When I was happy with the coverage, Charming Pink VersaFine Clair ink was used to stamp Reverse Stars Clear Stamp Set #485 repeatedly and the panel was heat set. Then Verdant VersaFine Clair ink was used to stamp Newsprint Numbers Clear Stamp Set #434 randomly onto the panel. This too was heat set. Since I was going for a random imperfect look, I used my hand (no block, no platform) to stamp which was surprisingly fun!

The panel was cut in half and two colors of Archival ink were applied over the largest star in the Smitten with Stars Stencil #121 onto the image panel. This was heat set and the sentiment from the Marilyn Clear Stamp Set #475 was stamped on the star.

The Marilyns were adhered in place and two pieces of Washi Tape #6  were added to ground them. The image panel was edged with black Archival ink and adhered to a black A6 card.
